After waiting 6 months to see Dr Tu and having to come up with $ 100 for medical records I was basically written off as a psych case. I am suffering from endometriosis and essentially he had come up with a theory that because I was neglected and abused as a baby that all I know is pain and that well I simply needed counseling and psych meds. He had put me on such a high dose of a neurological drug it would of made me like a zombie according to my psychiatrist. I would honestly seek another opinion from another dr. He had also said how my endometriosis was MINIMAL. I have had a few laparscopy and each time they found massive amounts of adhesions so I think he was bullshitting me and simply just did not want to treat me.

I had a very large uterine fibroid which dr. Tu removed laparoscopically (which none of the doctors I had consulted previously suggested/​offered). It was a successful operation despite the size of the fibroid and the location. The surgery was long, as he made a small incision to preserve the structure of the uterus as much as possible. I had no post operatory issues, and now I am pregnant. His bedside manner is outstanding. He is very meticulous, and very supportive. An A+ doctor and surgeon. I wish he would offer pregnancy care and delivery!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Frank Tu, for about six years. He truly is God sent! He saved my life! After many doctors missed a major problems, leaving me to believe my pain, and illness was in my head, I took a chance and saw, Dr. Tu. He took so many chances on me. He gave me hope, and that drive to keep fighting, to get better. In the long run, he helped get my life back! He spent hours on end, speaking to me, making sure I understood all of my options, including the side effects. He listens and answers all of your questions. It’s not uncommon for him to spend 45 Minutes, plus with you during an appointment. My boyfriend went in with many times, he took the time to talk to him. When he could not make it to appointment’s, Dr. Tu took the time to call him, and explain everything to him. He spoke to us in a language we understood. Not typical doctor talk, that only those in the medical field would understand.
What I like the best about him, he’s like a normal person (he will tell you stories about his kids… etc to help relax you). To him, you are a person, you have feelings, which is rare. Most doctors, to them you, are just another pt, or number. He thinks outside the box, offering many different treatment options, and he is not knife happy when it comes to surgery. He works with a wonderful team of doctors, who all deal with women’s health. My understanding, is that they meet once a week to discuss patient’s, and work together to get the pt feeling much better.
He will go above and beyond to make sure, that you are truly taken care of! His amazing nurse, is no longer there (She moved up in the network) She was amazing! I do know, that it takes awhile to get an appointment with him. However, it is well worth the wait! I promise!
He does a lot of research, and travels all over, learning more on this illness and new options on treating it. He may even ask you to be in one of his studies. Which only allows him to better understand and treat this horrible disease! So, please if he asks, sign up! It can benefit many more, who are being diagnosed daily!
I’ve referred well over, twenty– plus ladies to him! I actually received a Christmas card from him, and the staff– two years in a row!
One downfall, and it has nothing to do with, Dr. Tu. It has to do with, North Shore. Their billing dept, is not the best to deal with. You will receive a bill on a, Monday. You are getting collection calls, by the following, Monday. Something they need to work on. They put you right into collections, even if you have a payment plan.
Another downfall… Whoever answers the phones, tend to give you a hard time about making an appointment, or they are unaware that he will be out of the office, so they have to call and cancel the appointment. Otherwise, he’s one amazing doctor! Believe me, I don’t say that often!

Dr. Tu came into my life after a very traumatic event with another physician. I was literally wheeled in with a wheelchair, writhing in post operative pain when he met me. He calmly embraced my husband and I and addressed our situation with great care and concern.
Dr. Tu is a pelvic pain specialist. When my regular OB (at the time Dr. Blumenthal who I left after her post operative neglect) could do no more to assess and treat the excruciating pelvic pain I was suffering from, Dr. Tu was like an angel of mercy. I’m not just blowing smoke here. Any woman who has suffered from severe pelvic pain knows how debilitating it can be. I could no longer function at work or home. He worked with me (and my husband) to find ways to address the pain. He didn’t just throw narcotics at me either. Any doc can do that; but what would that do for the cause of the pain? He got me into physical therapy, meditation, alternative medications– beyond pain killers. While I’m still in treatment and not completely healed, I’m so much better off than where I started. I have good days and bad days, but before they were all just horrible days. I’ll be having surgery (most likely) and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. Dr. Tu has a warm and caring bedside manner.
He also referred me to another more tender OB (Dr. Abbey Roth) for my more common OB needs. Dr. Roth was amazing as well. I can’t wait to review her too.
If you want a knowledgeable, compassionate physician that will go above and beyond to care for you — I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Tu.
