Months later and I finally received a check of 104.00. Please do yourself a favor and do not move with this company!

I used Elite for my move from Chicago to Dallas last month and I have to say that my first long distance move was awesome. I worked with Dana from the very beginning. She was nice and very knowledgeable. She asked to preview bids that I previously received from other companies to give me a better rate, which she did. She also informed me of other things that I was not aware of in those bids which was really helpful. I was really nervous because of all the horror stories I had read about moving companies, but when they came to pick up my items the moving guys were REALLY nice and I did not receive any unexpected costs as others experienced. They carefully wrapped my furniture and moved my boxes with care.
I received my items about two weeks later, which I was hoping for earlier, but it was during the holidays so I’m assuming that added extra days on the delivery time. When the truck came with my items, the driver and the two guys with him were very nice as well. I was charged extra due to the «long haul» but I figured that was going to be an extra expense. No fault on their behalf. Anyway, they brought up all my things and assembled my bed. NOTHING was broken or damaged, which I was grateful of.
SO I would HIGHLY recommend Elite for any moves. They were AWESOME. Thanks

Overall pretty great moving experience with elite! I was nervous after reading their Unilocal reviews, but a friend told me about them and I needed movers on a short notice. This whole move was very last minute on my part, so I only gave them two weeks notice. I first called just inquiring when all of a sudden they’re asking questions and I already have a quote! We talked a couple more times before the move, finalizing paper work and what not, and when they day came they came when they said they would, moved quickly, and charged me pretty much exactly what my quote was. They had my apartment set up in about four hours and I payed just over $ 500 all on 2 weeks notice, which I think is pretty impressive. Took a lot of the stress out of moving! Would definitely use them again

I used Elite for a local move from Naperville to Chicago. We moved from a high-​floor 2 bed apartment in Naperville to a higher floor 1.5 bed Condo in Chicago.
We had a 8am-​12 noon elevator window at our destination, so our consultant James Garcia was able to schedule the movers to arrive at our source between 6 and 7 am. We also needed an insurance certificate per the rules of our condo, which they emailed over to the property manager. James was always quick to answer my calls and get back to me with details. He even advised me to get some of my own packing materials like mattress bags so that I could pay less than what they would charge if we used their materials.
On the day of the move, the movers called at 5:45 and arrived promptly at 6:15 am (with which I was pleasantly surprised, I had not expected them to show up by 7). Everything was packed carefully and they were very swift at moving even the largest of items from inside the apartment to the elevator in one go. Everything was in the truck by 7:40. They arrived in Chicago by 9 am which is good for rush hour traffic. Moved everything up, unpacked and took all of their blankets and wrapping material down by 9:50, and were gone by 10am. Our door person said it was the fastest move she had ever seen.
They had given me an original estimate of 6.5 hrs but finished everything in 3.75 hrs, ended up costing just over half of what they quoted me. Their hourly rate was already much better than all the other reputable, established businesses I could find online. I could not have asked for anything more.

The initial customer service experience I had with them was very professional and courteous. The reason I am giving them one star is due to the following line of events below which occurred. After the mishaps, I tried to work out a fair compromise and was ensure management would get back to me, but they never did.
1) I was assured multiple times via phone, in writing, and in the contract, I would be given notice before the delivery. The contract stated I would be told, at a minimum, about delivery by 6:00 pm the day before. In reality, the driver didn’t contact me until 8:17 am the morning of the delivery when he was 30 minutes from my residence. I was forced to drive back to my residence and leave business meetings, resulting in lost contracts, or have my goods stored somewhere, incur additional charges, and have my goods delivered at another date which they were unable to advise at that point if I didn’t accept delivery that day.
2) Per the contract, the driver and his team were to unwrap all blanketed furniture and reassemble small furniture such as beds, tables, sofas, etc. The driver told me he was too busy to do so and after unwrapping one table just instructed his team to leaver everything, still wrapped in moving blankets and shrink wrap, wherever they could find space in my apartment and then left.
I asked him if I could borrow his knife for a moment so I could begin unwrapping things and he watched as I tried my best to get blankets and shrink wrap off before he left. He gave me about 15 minutes to do so before leaving.
3) The driver was not confident enough in his own skills to maneuver his trailer onto my apartment grounds although apartment management had told him many drivers do so all the time without incident. He decided he would have to rent a smaller truck and I would have to pay an additional $ 500.00 for him to do so.
4) The driver told me he didn’t receive notice about delivery until nearly midnight the morning before he just showed up at my residence. Later, when on the phone with Elite’s management he lied saying he contacted me within the terms of the contract (I had phone records and text messages to the contrary) and also lied about unwrapping the furniture (I had pictures). Elite decided to believe him over me despite my evidence.
All in all, if you want to be treated like you don’t matter and you are a liar, nickel and dimed into bankruptcy at time of delivery, and suffer several breaches of contract which they will ignore, by all means choose Elite Moving.

Run Don’t Walk.
They flat out suck. They are liars. Elite will make you jump through hoops, loose your paper work and then will tell you you never sent it to them.
You for sure you will get hit up for a $ 500.00 transfer fee. Have them Google your address. There going to send a 53 Foot trailer.
Make them come to you home so you know what your going to be charged.

I moved from Chicago to Sarasota I waited 2 extra weeks for my belongings and had several damaged Items. They lost a Dresser. My new mattress was moldy. The driver Vladimer took my Crocs and twisted them to hold open the screen door. When I asked him what he was doing he just gave me a blank stare. They suck. Don’t use this company.

Worth the price! Had a few boxes roughed up a little bit, and one of my nightstands was smashed, I guess it could have been better padded. It is a budget moving service, so it can take some time to get your stuff, but well worth the savings, especially when you are paying half the amount of other movers. I had one bedroom worth of stuff, had no address when I moved from Chicago to LA but they worked with me the whole time. They even provided a free month of storage when I was house hunting. I paid just over $ 1,300 for their services, tipped the workers on both ends. My two road bikes and surfboard made it without any damages. Pick these guys if you are trying to work on a budget!

Destination reached. Two movers from LA (Ivan and ?,) in an ELITE van. These guys did a fantastic job, took no time at all, listed all items by number, no damaged or missing items, and everything in the budget agreed upon.
I will say the overall experience was very good. The office staff made accommodations when they could, and only a few miscommunications. The movers did great in both cities, and I think they are the company’s greatest assets.

This company and it’s employees were wonderful to work with. They were fast with providing a quote for the move — quick to respond when I had questions — and wonderful at following up to confirm the appointment.
The actual moving team was the best I’ve ever experienced. A 3 man team moved a 2bed apartment in Wicker Park to a top floor 2bed apartment in Uptown in less than 2 hours. It was amazing. Nothing was broken — they were careful with every piece of furniture and even wrapped things (I didn’t even think to wrap our couch!) for us for no extra charge.
I would recommend this company to anyone that likes a no nonsense move with hard working employees that get the job done.

Ok so I was very worried about the reviews on this company, but they came through and my total charge was only $ 6 above my estimate. Dani, the manager took my inventory (she really knows what she is doing). I had measured all my boxes, and allotted space for 2 empty boxes that I ended up using. If your inventory and cubic footage are correct, your estimate should not change much.
The movers arrived on time and were very friendly. I self packed and they helped seal many of my boxes and packed up a few. They were very professional, and worked to finish the job on time. They did try to sell me additional insurance, but I self packed and items would not have been eligible for claims. The guys did subtract the cost of items I did not end up using, such as extra mattress covers.
The not so great, the driver (Igor) never called to let me know what was going on with my items. I called him and he told me he would deliver on one day and then never showed and never called me back. He also tried to charge me for a non-​existent charge (elevator service fee). When I called the company, they also could not reach him, and confirmed that there was no additional fee. Another different driver and man ended up delivering my stuff, and they did a fantastic job (who knows what happened to Igor). The new driver mentioned possibly needing to use a shuttle, which would have been an extra charge, and I told him no, because 18 wheeler was allowed and could fit on my street. He ended getting a shuttle anyway and I was not charged for it.
Overall, it is very scary when your stuff is being moved across the country (or anywhere). I felt these guys did a good job for the price-​beat out all my other estimates, if you are willing to do some front work. I would use them again, because it saved me a lot of money.

Don’t let the low star reviews scare you. We moved from a small town in Michigan to San Diego — over 2,000 miles. We also contacted Elite less than 1 month before the move date. We worked with Nick who was attentive from the start without being annoying. After the contract was signed, I was afraid it’d be bye-​bye Nick/​customer service, but he he was really good about following up and getting me answers I needed. Even if he was out of the office, there were others who stepped in to look up my account and help out.
The biggest miracle of all was that we were able to move in 10 days earlier than we originally signed off on, so I quickly changed our «earliest available delivery date» and crossed my fingers we wouldn’t be living in an empty house for almost 2 weeks, even though the delivery is only a guarantee for delivery within 14 days of that date. Well, Elite arrived on THE ACTUAL DAY I wrote down. We went a total of ZERO DAYS with out our stuff. Couldn’t have planned it better. I
In the end, I wish I was a little more educated from the start on inventory and supplies, as that was the part that ended up costing us over our estimate. Rolls of tape, moving blankets, etc. If things were not packed/​taped how they like it, they re-​did it and you paid the price for the labor and supplies. In the end, it’s okay because NOTHING was broken upon arrival. But, if I had known the expectation clearer, I could have done it myself for less.
Also, watch out for payment methods. I was told credit card (with processing fee), postal money order, or certified cashier’s check. I paid with the latter for my pick-​up and then upon delivery I was told I could only pay with cash. Because I was called the day before and told my window was 10am-​4pm (I know, big window) the next day, it was a bit of a mad scramble to get to my bank and pull out that amount of money and then carry it around to fork over, but I can’t complain. My stuff arrived on time and I didn’t have to lift a box.

The good: when scheduling, my customer service rep was very accommodating. And the movers were professional, courteous, and hard working.
The bad: the movers were over an hour late, past the already ridiculously huge 5 hour window. Twice. I hired them twice in three days for a two part move, and the first time they were an hour late, the second time they were an hour and a half late
The ugly: when I called the second time around, at the end of my scheduling window, first I got put on hold, then I was told I would get a call back «in five minutes». Well, long story short, an hour later I had called multiple times, the manager left for the day without returning my calls, I got hung up on, and then they stopped answering the phone, because it was «after hours». The next morning when I called to complain, after explaining to them how unprofessional the whole situation was, they offered me $ 50. Total, not even for each of my f-​ed up moves.
I can not recommend them.

We had contracted with Elite Moving of Skokie, Il. to perform a local move. Specifically we had to be out of our past location by noon of moving day. When contracting the service we had questioned the need to move the prior day and hold items in storage. Elite’s representative assured us that that they would be on site the day we had to vacate between 7 to 9 AM and would be able to pack the items by the needed time.
At 11 AM the day before our contracted move the dispatcher from Elite called and informed us they would be on-​site between 12 to 7 PM. When we asked about the promised morning time they said the contract writer had missed this detail and there was no way they could move us as promised.
Please note there is no mention of arrival time in the contract. Elite’s representative did acknowledge the promise he had made to be on-​site for the morning move.
Throughout the day follow-​up communications from Elite were promised but never made. There was no effort to find a solution (evening move, rescheduling other commitments, etc.) since we were in a position that could have cost us loss of security deposit.
We spent over four hours calling other movers until by luck there was a cancellation and another company was able to move us.
Summary — Elite Moving did not perform as contracted, did not care about our situation, does not communicate and does not work to solve issues.

The worst experience of my life. Worst. We scheduled a move, and had to be out that day because the new owners were doing a walk through in the morning. We had a 12−5pm window. When they finally showed up at 5:30pm, the parking we had set aside was gone since it was a 12−5pm window. They pulled up the truck, looked around our two bedroom condo, and told us they were going to double the cost and double the time to and 8 – 10 hour move. My husband said he was going to call the office to figure things out. While he was on the phone with the office, he found a parking spot to stand in. The movers said they were going to pull around and park. They went around the block AND NEVER CAME BACK!!! This was while my husband was on the phone with the office trying to figure out the costs.
I called trying to get things figured out and get them back — but only the secretary answered and said the owner won’t answer calls after business hours. She must be a super hard worker! No one could tell us what happened, why they ditched us, and had no interest in resolving the issue.
So now I’m stuck at the new place with a two year old who has no bed to sleep in (the movers knew we had a toddler who needed his crib — we told them and they still just ditched us) and my husband is realizing he has to figure out how to move our entire place by tomorrow morning by himself.
Did Elite Moving & Storage care? Not one bit. They said we would get a call from the owner in the morning and they were sorry. Guess what — sorry isn’t enough and the morning is not good enough. Oh, and surprise surprise, the owner did not call me in the morning. In fact the owner never called at all.
This company is the scum of the earth. DO NOT USE THEM NO MATTER WHAT!!! Worst decision of my life to do business with these terrible human beings. Never ever ever ever ever use them. Ever. Do anything you can to not use them.

Moved from CA to VA. Communication was awful, especially about delivery. They give you a 3 week window in which they hope to deliver and customer has to be ready anytime for the goods to arrive. Numerous attempts to contact their dispatch lead to absolutely no reply. Not even the delivery address was passed on the to the delivery driver. One day someone called, left a message that delivery now is imminent … but did not give an estimate of the day, and for them imminent obviously means more than one week. The driver of the truck finally called less than 24 hours before arrival. At no time they even attempted to accommodate my work schedule. If you want to be treated like a servant … this is the company for you.
Did I mention some damaged goods? Reported that fact to them (John in the office via email) and so far (4 days by now) have not heard back from them at all.
Stay away.

From the moment the guys arrived at my apartment, it was a nonstop hustle! They were on time and got the job done quickly and professionally. We were all settled in or new place by 11:30 AM and I was able to make it into work for a noon meeting! They were also very patient and good at circling he truck around the block when traffic couldn’t get by in the street.
Overall, seemed pretty affordable, or at least comparable to other companies. It was $ 400 for a 3 hour move + some additional boxes.
The only reason why I’m giving four stars instead of five is that they did scuff up the walls in my apartment stairwell pretty badly. They could have used the outdoor staircase to avert this issue.

This was my first move with Elite. It will not be my last. Although I hate moving with a passion, Elite helped to make this latest one the best one ever.
From the first phone call the the last box Elite was fabulous. Everyone I encountered was organized and professional. My three person crew worked incredibly well together. I needed a little handholding and I got that, too. They arrived on time (7am!) and we were finished by 10:30am.
The cherry on the cake was that the final bill was a few dollars less than the estimate. Even better? it was $ 200 less than what it cost me to move in to the place I was leaving.
I am super happy with Elite.

The service provided by Elite was terrific from start to finish. We placed our order for an estimate via the website and were able to schedule movers to come load our U-​Haul well in advance of our move date. The correspondence with the customer representative was prompt and informative and I was able to ensure our estimate was precise and realistic via a few quick emails.
On moving day, the movers arrived within a few minutes of the beginning of their scheduled window and worked quickly, loading up an entire 26′ U-​Haul in just 2 ½ hours. They worked quickly, but also very carefully, even making recommendations about extra padding and better materials for securing our things. About half way through the move I went to see how the loading of the truck was going, and I found a jigsaw puzzle being built layer by layer against the back of the truck. It looked amazing! Once they were done loading the truck, I could hardly move anything it was so well secured. All our belongings easily survived my 7 hours of driving and the movers who unloaded us commented several times that they were impressed with the packing job.
We’ve used Elite twice — once into our former residence, and once out of it. We’ve recommended them and had them used by 3 friends for moves of various distances. All of our experiences have been the same — we’ve all been very pleased!

The movers themselves are great. Quick and efficient.
The office people, however, are HORRIBLE. Ira Avdushev, the grumpy old office lady, kept telling me she was going to cancel my move — the day of! They arrived before they were supposed to, and were planning on charging me for the hours that the moving crew was sitting there. At that time, the crew didn’t have access to an elevator.
I moved 5 blocks south and I was charged for 6 hours of work. It ended up taking 4 hours, so I had to call repeatedly to get reimbursed for the 2 hours. That shouldn’t be my responsibility — to call 5 or 6 times — to get my reimbursement.
Too expensive and rude office staff. Your job is customer service!

The expectation when you agree to make a purchase from a business is that they are going to present themselves in the best light, but also within the boundaries of being truthful. When a business does not present itself in the light of honesty, not even a dimly lit corner, you have every right to be angry, to feel cheated, and to bring that lie into the light.
I hired Elite Movers based on their reviews, the report of the Better Business Bureau, and their promises. The most important promise that they and I completely relied upon was that Elite Movers would be handling my belongings every step of the way. It was their promise that they had the resources and the capacity to do this.
What actually happened was they subcontracted the job out to another mover. It was a company that was never mentioned in any conversation and I never heard of. The subcontractor scratched every piece of living room wood furniture, broke the glass on the same furniture, broke three custom framed pictures, put a dozen dents and scratches in my refrigerator and lost my computer monitor leaving me the empty box as well as losing a brand new 16 piece calphalon set of pans, some other full boxes and they broke five of my professionally framed pieces.
When I called to report the damages, and how unhappy I was with services, I suddenly didn’t have service from them anymore. The service was performed by a sub-​contractor. And they said they did all of the work themselves when they we pitching me to use Elite.
I cannot and will not ever use these people again. How can you trust them, not to mention the extensive loss from damage and theft. That is truly a shame.
