I want to commend the staff for handling being yelled at during a rush. Everyone from catering stopped to help at the register and still ran the food. There was a cashier, Kiki that was just obviously stressed out and wouldn’t leave her register — which is fine I don’t know protocol, but everyone else was jumping in, putting together orders, getting on the cash register, prepping to go orders and just really being a team and working together to get through the rush. There was one guy in particular in a green polo that was being yelled at by her and he just took it with complete professionalism and kept getting the customers taken care of. Our food deliverer Carlos also took my order while being yelled at by Kiki to «put some sandwiches together» and he would politely acknowledge her and still take care of me and my order even though it was obviously uncomfortable. Good job to the staff.

Wow! Such a warm and inviting place! The food is great, salads, and panini are awesome! The staff is very nice, smiling all the time… The Manager stops by and asks if the food is good or if you have any issues… I go there all the time for breakfast and brunch! If you are close by do not hesitate to try it out!

So in their surveys they always ask your preferred location, and I usually say Old Orchard because we spend so much time at that mall. But this one is super close to us, located in Village Crossing and it’s good, too! I stop here a lot when I’m home during the week and want a healthy, delicious breakfast. I usually get one of the scramblers(love the Anaheim!) or a panini or power flat. They have the same menu, which my family loves, and the workers are all very nice. Parking is super easy here; easier than at Old Orchard, and the location, hours, and maintenance/cleanliness of the place are all great. I only deducted one star because they don’t have iced coffee! ;-((The manager at Old Orchard makes it happen for me…)

This location always runs out of breakfast potatoes. The later in the morning you go, the smaller the breakfast sandwiches are. If your sandwich is supposed to come with avocado and doesn’t, you have go back up to the front to ask for a side of avocado in a tiny cup. Pretty annoying. Side note: Sales tax here is just over 10%, while at Annie’s Pancake House(also in Skokie) it is 12%. Weird.

Constant problems at this location. We have had to get food remade at least 4 times. The last issue was them failing to make an order placed online. Their system was supposedly«down», yet the order printed somewhere in the back(which they failed to check for incoming orders). Significant failure in management…

Awesome location and great place to study. Don’t eat here though. Asked for the pesto and got Mac and cheese. Ate it anyway and got food poisoning. Never again.

2 stars because of some of the people working here. I was checking out with Kathleen and it only took her awhile to figure out how to use the computer, but she didn’t even hear me order drinks. I then asked, what about the drinks and she dared to say«no you didn’t» how dare you tell me no. Waste my time. Fire this clueless idiot from here. Hire quality people.

Only writing a review because of how nice one of the managers are! Her name is Kiki. She is probably the nicest restaurant worker I have ever met! Also, food is always great!

I have lived in Skokie for the past 2 years but have never gone to this Corner Bakery before. I decided to stop in tonight because I was looking for something warm and filling but healthier than the typical fast food. I had the Corner Combo which comes with your choice of 2: soup, salad or ½ a sandwich. I had ½ of the Chicken Pomodori Panini with a cup of broccoli and cheddar soup. It also came with chips and a pickle spear. It was absolutely delicious! The spinach, basil, and tomato on the sandwich were so fresh! I was shocked that I had a bright red and ripe tomato on my sandwich. The soup was hot and really good. I was so full after the soup and sandwich that I couldn’t even eat my chips. The meal cost just under $ 10 which is pretty decent these days for healthier fast food. I will definitely be back!

In general Corner Bakery is not at all what it used to be; it’s just okay. This location fits that description. Their baked goods selection is considerably diminished from the years when they were still owned by Lettuce Entertain You and all shops adjoined a Maggiano’s. Without that as comparison, they are an adequate bakery and sandwich shop with good enough soups, though Panera does a better job in this category. ~Peter O.

They are out of ALL types of the COFFEE, I am waiting for them making coffee for 8 minutes now. This shows poor management and low employee dedication. While waiting for it, I see two employees joking around at the back, one register open with a long line of people, this whole thing is Not acceptable. Still waiting for the coffee after I writing this review.

Review is for Breakfast Power Flatbread only. Ordered it to go. Looked inside the bag at home and they’d included plastic utensils. Ummm, this is a wrap sandwich, why would I need a fork and knife? Got the bacon version. Not impressed at all. It comes with a nasty vinegary«salsa» that tastes like poor-quality jarred store bought. I used my own hot sauce. Bacon flavor was overwhelmed by the bread flavor. Overall, sandwich not yummy and it’s very small for $ 3.99. You’re mostly getting bread. I won’t be buying this sandwich ever again.

There was a point I used to think really highly of corner bakery, although every visit brings down my expectations. This place has a large variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta, baked goods you name it, solid lunch spot in my opinion. The food is still good, just not what it used to be. I used to pick Corner Bakery over Panera, but now I must say Panera is the way to go. Though Panera has less options, their food is more flavorful, and deff a lot more consistent with quality. But CB is worth a visit every now and then.

I really hate to do this because I really do love this place, but this morning was the final straw. at least once a week I phone in my order to pick up on my way into work. This morning I called and was put on hold for 5 minutes, then placed my order. walked in the store 3 min later, waited in like another 7 minutes just to find my order was never put in. No I’m sorry, nothing! I was very upset and just walked out. very disapointed… Nothing like going to work without having breakfast first, ruined my whole morning. They are under staffed at the register in the morning, they need to fix that or they’ll lose me forever.
I do have to say that I have noticed this big white guy that has been behind the counter lately, he seems to be rather clueless, slow and doesn’t seem to care much. about 2 weeks ago, I was getting coffee and there were no lids??? I was like ummmm I can’t take this in my car like this and he just stood there and said«oh the truck hasn’t been unloaded yet» WHAT??? I poured half my coffee out and left. there have been several times where the coffee station was out of cream and out of certian coffee, big dude walking around totally clueless as usual. very sad. the only reason I gave them 2 stars is because I love their food. not sure if I’ll be back anytime soon

I always order the half pesto combo with Mac and cheese and I sub a salad instead of chips. Their deserts rock. Sometimes, I’ll get the pesto carbona which rocks

This is the largest Corner Bakery we’ve ever been in. It looks to be maybe twice as big as a typical CB. We tried one of their Corner Combos — a half chicken pomodori panini and half a mac n cheese. We also had a cinnamon crème cake. They have the usual offerings and service was quick for us despite the store size(the late 1pm lunch time might have helped).

Currently in a very bad mood because of this location. My husband and friend work at a corner bakery so I eat there often and this place needs someone to pay attention to detail. Just one person would be nice. My husband ordered an uptown Turkey… Bread wasn’t toasted. I ordered the chicken pesto cavatapi pasta and a cup of chili. The pasta had so much breadcrumb on it that it was criminal. On top of that, the bread that comes with it was so hard that I couldn’t eat it and it crunched very audibly when I broke it in half. My chili was also no more than halfway full. Now to our friends meal. He ordered a moms turkey sandwich. Long story short, he took two bites and we’re currently back in the car on our way to wing stop to buy him something else to eat Please find someone who will pay attention to what they’re doing because what you’re doing at the moment isn’t working. What a waste of money.

This has been my go to Corner Bakery. For my wedding(back in 2012), the girls were going to meet me at my hotel to get hair and makeup done there at 09:00. I ordered catering and it came at scheduled and correct. Love the laid back lay out **One star deducted… PAYATTENTION** do NOT, under ANYCIRCUMSTANCES, come here on a week day during lunch time. The line is literally out the door, they don’t open all their registers and there is NO organization(people are cutting in front of you!) if you come here on your lunch break from work, it will all be spent waiting in line. You may need to get it to go and eat on your way back to work. Don’t believe me? Come here at 12:30 on a weekday and try it out.

Today I decided to order their new featured items. Fist I tried the Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup. It was pretty good. It was creamy and flavorable. Then I had the salmon croissant sandwich. The salmon didn’t taste like it had any seasoning. The croissant was not your typical croissant. It was a multi grain wheat croissant. It was pretty good though. Fresh and soft. The tomato caprese salad was good, I think it could have been better if they used sliced cherry tomatoes instead of your typical chopped tomato. Also, the salad used is Arugala. A lot of people I know don’t care for the flavor of Arugula so I hope this information is helpful for those of you who may want to order it and are expecting a different kind of salad. Overall, the meal was good.
