History

Established in 1996.

The agency was founded in 1996 by Tobi Ehrenpreis and Maggie Gill Benz. Both social workers and adoptive mothers, Tobi and Maggie combined their administrative and clinical expertise to establish the Adoption Center for Family Building. This progressive adoption agency was designed as an alternative to the more traditional agencies. Open adoption services are personalized and designed to meet the needs of birth mothers and adoptive parents.

Since it’s beginning, the Adoption Center for Family Building has grown steadily. In 1998, the agency was licensed in Indiana. Over the years, the agency has conducted more than 1,200 home studies for domestic and international adoptions, provided professional counseling and support to more than 1,700 expectant mothers and birth fathers, and placed over 1000 infants for adoption
