Painting with a Twist is your answer to fun. The concept pairs instructional art with a lively instructor to produce individual works of art. Bring your favorite beverage, whether it’s wine or lemonade, your family and friends and enjoy step-​by-​step instruction with our experienced and enthusiastic local artists. You’ll leave with a one-​of-​kind piece of art and a new found talent you’ll want to explore. Painting with a Twist is also the perfect venue for private parties. From birthday and bachelorette parties to date nights and corporate team building events, we can help you celebrate anything.

We offer public classes and private parties 7 days a week. Please reference our website’s Event Calendar to see available public classes and to reserve seats. For private party dates, please contact us via phone or email.

History

Established in 2012.

Our Grand Opening event was on February 2, 2012. We’ve been hosting painting classes and private parties for both adults and kids since then! We are also known for our theme nights, including our annual Fright Night, Tacky Christmas Party, Birthday Bash & Prom Night, as well as 80’s nights, beach bashes, Oz nights, and so much more! We won Montco Happening’s award for Best Group Outing in 2014 and 2015, and were voted their Best Date Night in 2015!

I’m Jennifer and I opened Painting With a Twist — Skippack in Feb 2012! While I’ve lived in PA for over 13 years, I am a proud native of New Orleans, and I guess you could say that I know a thing or two about letting the good times roll! In my pre-​PWAT life, I was a management consultant for Accenture, and while I loved the people with whom I worked all over the world, I knew I was meant for something different and I longed to express my creative side. As serendipity would have it, I discovered Corks N Canvas (parent studio to PWAT) on a visit home to NOLA to see family, and before I could uncork my bottle I was sold. I knew instantly that this business was a perfect fit for me and that my friends and neighbors in PA would love it, and that’s not just the wine talking! I’m looking forward to entertaining people and helping them discover something new about themselves, and maybe even inspiring them in some way, big or small. I’m looking forward to meeting you in the studio!

Painting With a Twist is SO much fun! I’ve been there a couple of times with friends, and most recently with my husband to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Even my skeptical husband was having a blast by the end of the class! The instructors are great and extremely helpful. They keep the classes fun and positive which is great, especially when it’s your first time there and you’re not feeling confident in your painting skills! It’s BYOB, and they have cups there for you to use. You can also bring snacks to munch on too. I would definitely recommend it for a fun night out, date night, or party spot for a special event.

It is rare when an event or party actually exceeds your expectations and our painting party did just that last night! I organized a group of girls to get together for my birthday imagining just a nice night out. We all had so much fun and laughed and enjoyed ourselves the whole night. The private room is awesome for a get together. You have stations for your snacks and beverages. There are photo props and a mini red carpet. Your apron, paint and canvas are provided. Since I was the birthday girl and organizer, I had selected what painting we were doing. Our instructor was Lucretia and she was amazing. She was funny and personable and encouraged all of to just relax and have fun. Her instructions were easy to follow and everyone was pleased with their results. I can’t recommend PWAT Skippack enough!!!

Wonderful time! Lucretia is fantastic! The room is very large and even though there were 40 of us, we had plenty of room to paint. I never felt crowded. Lucretia is a remarkable woman. Some women were concerned about their painting skills and she made everyone feel comfortable. She was very funny and entertaining. This was my first time painting as well and it was very easy to follow her step by step. All the ladies in our class were fun and friendly. I’m completely hooked on painting and even went to the local store and bought paints, an easel, and brushes! I can’t wait to go back to PWAT with my boyfriend and with my daughter. So much fun! Thank you for having a place to relieve stress and forget about everything for a few hours!

Visited Painting With a Twist for the first time with my two of my aunts for a girls night. The assigned painting for that night was very challenging. As someone with no painting experience and some perfectionist issues I had a challenging time. The instructor moves through the painting slowly and there’s a second host moving throughout the room helping people and providing positive words of encouragement. It is BYOB and you can bring your own snacks. Lots of really creative and fun paintings throughout the room that were done at previous sessions. They have a website with a painting calendar online so you can track and book based on what the painting is. Late night evening classes make it convenient to come in after getting home from work. Would definitely come back here.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! Went for the first time and i’m already planning my next trip! The instructors are hilarious and stress the most important thing is to have fun! Worth every penny!

My mom and I did a mother-​daughter date night here a few weeks ago and it was so much fun! Our instructors and the music they played was great; both made for a really fun environment. Neither of us is an artist, so I was apprehensive about how our paintings will turn out but they both look great! I have mine hanging in my house now. I plan on signing up for another class with friends in the city. One request — more Philly paintings!!!

I’ve been here numerous times before but when my best friend got engaged we decided to have her bachelorette party here to start the day off! We had such a good time! Since we had a private party, we had our own room, we were able to choose which painting we wanted, and they allowed us to bring all of the decorations, food, and drinks we wanted!
Have never had a bad instructor here… they are all hysterical. They definitely make it a fun experience!
What doesn’t go good with wine? :)

I went here for a Bachelorette party. I got an email invitation and paid online ($ 35). It was my first time going to one of these things — it’s BYOB drinking & painting. The bachelorette chose which painting she wanted to do (there were lots of choices). We probably had about 15 people there. We brought lots of wine and painted a tree with cloudy background. The instructor moved very slowly through each step. It was very easy to follow the instructions. I do have painting experience, but most of the others in the party did not. Everyone seemed nervous before we started painting, but it seemed that everyone had no trouble following along. I had fun, too, even though it was more of a simple step-​by-​step process than what I’m used to. Everyone’s paintings turned out really good (especially since most had no experience). The instructor was very fun and personable (we had Brian). We played music and the instructor made jokes throughout our time together. I would definitely come back and recommend this location for any type of party.

PWAT was my second foray into the world of pretending to be an artist, and while it was different than the first, I loved it. This location is quite large and has two rooms. The main room looked like it could fit about 50 people, whereas the second room is a bit smaller and better equipped for private events. Since I was at a private event I spent my time in the second room, and found it perfect for our purposes. Our purposes, of course, as 25 women was to drink snack socialize and maybe paint a little.
My only criticism was that I feel like this studio requires a little more art talent and knowledge than other places might. The first time I painted at another studio, it was pretty much impossible to mess up. However for this painting we had to do a rough sketch which was a bit intimidating. However the instructor was friendly and very competent, so I’m happy to report my painting is wall-​worthy!

My daughter had her 9th birthday party at Painting with a Twist and everyone had a great time! The kids made masterpieces they were so proud of and I was really impressed with the organization and process used to keep everyone on task and moving ahead without confusion or chaos often associated with kids’ parties. The artist and staff were SO friendly, helpful and fun. I’ll be going back there with friends, for sure!
