Queen beds, private baths and a full breakfast are offered at this service-​oriented bed and breakfast. You can launch your canoe or kayak right from our dock and be out on the Columbia within minutes. For more sedate paddling, the quiet waters of Skamokawa Creek and Brooks slough offer hours of paddling where you will encounter few other people, but much in the way of wildlife. Typical companions include otters, herons and eagles. We’ll pack a lunch to go with you!

Also at Twin Gables: A separate self catering vacation rental apartment. Sleeps 4. $ 105/​night. (breakfast in B&B dining room available for $ 15/​pp).

History

Established in 2007.

Twin Gables Bed and Breakfast Inn is located in the Skamokawa (ska-​MOCK-​away) National Historic District, where the houses all front on Skamokawa Creek. Until the 1930s, most local travel was via boat. There were no through roads. We restored our 1890s waterfront house and opened it as a guest house in 2007. The vacation apartment is next door to the guesthouse, and breakfast or dinner is available with an extra charge. We love our very rural part of the NW, here in one of the state’s smallest counties: Wahkiakum (whah-​KIGH-​ya-​kum).
