Shibui Spa at FivePine

My girlfriend and I enjoyed an amazing and relaxing couples massage during our stay at Five Pine. I called prior to make an appointment. Brook, who took my reservation, was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and given a tour of the facility. As a young gay couple, we get nervous doing «couple» type things in public. But everyone we encountered at the spa did not appear phased at all which helped us to relax and truly enjoy the experience. This, in addition to the ambiance and the great massages, is why we would recommend visiting the spa if traveling through Sisters.

The best thing was the girl at the front desk was very nice. The pedicure was the worst I have ever had, my toes nails are so uneven, the polish was gummy, I asked her to trim my cuticles she said she did but she did not, my feet are really dry what a mess. The hour long pedi was $ 60 the girl at the front desk took $ 20 off, I’m still going to have to go some place else and get this mess fixed.

Have been for massages at least three times since moving to Bend, and even though it is a 25 minute drive to Shibui, and I am sure that there are other great spas closer to h home, in Bend, the drive to Shibui worth it! The atmosphere at Shibui is calming, from the moment you walk through the door into the lobby. The aromas and music set the tone for the anticipated relaxation and pampering! My most recent massage was with Becky, and it was PHENOMENAL! I walked in with a sore and stiff neck and shoulder pain that had been that way for a couple of weeks — but after the massage, I was totally pain-​free! Becky checked in with me on how her pressure was, and slowly worked up to deeper pressure to get rid of my ‘knots’. The pool was wonderful, warm and soothing, the quiet room and the patio were a wonderful follow-​up to a great pamper. I highly recommend Shibui for its top quality services and beautiful ambience, and of course, Becky, for a top rated massage.

I’ve had a brow wax here and thought it was pretty good. They’re also open on Sunday’s which worked well for me last minute. My friend & I had side by side pedicures and this was disappointing. It’s not that the two women weren’t nice, they absolutely were. The pedicure area was squashed into a corner and very awkward to step up and sit down on a cushion that moved around. I believe we paid $ 60 or so for each pedicure and there was no foot or leg massage, nothing special, just soak, trim nails polish. I would recommend somewhere else for a pedicure, if I had to value the quality of how they do it, I would say maybe $ 30. So far in Bend area I think Tangerine Salon Downtown (I had Alicia) does a great pedicure & they were not more than $ 45. Still exploring other salons but Shibui was very mediocre and for the money it was very disappointing.

My husband and I went to the spa for our honeymoon, we received the couples massage– the massage therapists were awesome! By far the best massages we have ever received– the only downfall was with our resort package we were told we receive a couples massage– when my husband booked the massages the receptionist asked «60 min «or «90 min» of course he went for the longer time but the receptionist failed to mention it was an extra $ 90.00 so after a nice massage we were presented with a bill. We called and talked to the manager and she pretty much stated that we still had to pay even if it was not stated upon booking — the 5 star rating is for the ambiance and massage therapists not for the customer service aspect !

I have visited this spa twice and overall I love it. My sisters and I want to make it an annual activity during our family vacation. My most recent visit I decided to have two services; Dance of the Desert and a Manicure with shellac polish.
The Dance of the Desert treatment was AMAZING! It was incredibly relaxing and my skin felt amazing after. I wish i could do something like that every month, but it was very much a splurge for me.
I decided to add the manicure on last minute because I was not ale to get one before we left for the weekend. This was a major DISAPPOINTMENT! Not only did I pay more for a manicure that was terrible, I had to pay an extra $ 10 for the Shellac! There was no nail or cuticle clean and the shellac polish started coming off in two days. I really wish i could give the nail service one star and a five for the rest.
I would recommend going to Shibui for a body treatment and to enjoy the additional amenities they have that go along with it (hot tub, sauna). If you want your nails done go to a walk in nail salon. It will be much cheaper and better quality!

Once you get past the lobby of this place it is unbelievably beautiful and relaxing. The pictures on the website really don’t do it justice. The locker room is well-​equipped with everything you need in case you didn’t bring your own toiletries. The relaxation room is really just a waiting room for between services, but it’s comfortable and stocked with cold water, hot tea, and a mixture of dried fruit and nuts in case you need a snack
I cannot say enough good things about the Thai Bandle Massage. It was just absolutely perfect and I would definitely go back for this next time I’m in the area. I like a deep massage and my therapist was able to apply the perfect pressure. A nice thing about this one is that you also get to take the bandle home for future use on soar muscles.
I can’t say the same about the facial, and definitely not about the pedicure. I have very sensitive skin and had a pretty bad reaction to whatever was put on my face. I was told they used their most gentle products, so it sounds like it was just an incompatibility issue between their stuff and my skin. We’ll just have to call that one a draw.
This was probably the worst pedicure I’ve ever had. She basically just rubbed lotion on my legs for awhile and then painted my toenails, but not even well. I payed extra for the shellac upgrade and the polish completely peeled off within 36 hours. I didn’t pick at it or anything, just took my socks off and the polish came with it. To my surprise, the polish from a previous pedicure was still on underneath that. She didn’t even remove that, so I’m sure that’s part of why this new one came off.
You should certainly go for a massage and enjoy the amenities. I would even go so far as to recommend a facial (as long as you don’t have sensitive skin), but skip the pedicure and head to a strip mall nail salon for that.

Yesterday at Shibui Spa I enjoyed the most incredible spa experience of my life. I was so blessed to be a recipient of Shibui’s «gift of giving back» campaign! (I have cancer and was nominated by a dear friend.) You can imagine my delight and gratitude… but here is something even more amazing: as high as my expectations and hopes were for this special day of pampering, Shibui exceeded every one. From the moment I entered the spa, I was made to feel like a full-​paying customer (which is to say, like royalty!). Nothing about my visit bespoke a «this poor girl» or «charity case» mentality. I was welcomed warmly; treated to a full tour of the facility by Kendra, who explained some special aspects and details about the spa; and encouraged to soak in the exquisitely crafted soaking pool, followed by sipping tea in the relaxation room until it was time for my massage. You need to know that every detail was perfect. From the spa-​provided robes and slippers to the all-​inclusive baskets of amenities in the changing rooms to the atmosphere of hushed relaxation to the the tranquil pools and waterfalls that grace much of the interior space, I have never enjoyed such luxury. But then it got even better, if you can imagine that. My spa therapist/​masseuse, Kaitlyn, spent almost two hours giving me the spa treatment of my choice: the Lotus Dream. It was sheer bliss, and afterward I was encouraged to enjoy some time in the sauna to allow the essential oils and such soak into my skin. Kaitlyn is AMAZING. I have never felt so spoiled.
Please, do yourself or someone you love a huge favor and splurge on a treatment at this world-​class resort spa. The generosity and thoughtfulness of the staff pervades the entire establishment, and you will never find a better indulgence.

This is a top notch spa in a small town. I have been here at least 5 times for massage. Every time has been an exceptional experience with great customer service and a wonderful massage. The building is world class and very relaxing. I would definitely drive off of Black Butte Ranch to visit this spa instead of the one at Glaze Meadow if you want the actual spa experience.

Oh, I’m sad to see (only 1) negative-​ish review. I can not tell you enough how WONDERFUL this place is!!! From the minute you walk in the door you are like swept away by the tranquility of the spa. The sounds, smells and whole ambiance is so relaxing. You definitely feel like your money is well spent here. I’ve had just about every service. I used to live in Sisters, so I would go in when I could but after moving back to the valley I can not find any comparison :(. SO… I just take my little trips back to Sisters to get pampered and it’s perfect.

My wife and I visited Shibui for a one hour couples massage. Shibui is all about the ambiance. It’s in a nice building, with a fancy lobby, a beautiful waterfall feature, and full bathrooms with every amenity you can think of.
When we arrived we were given a tour of the spa, then sent to the quiet room to fill out paperwork. Then my wife and I were off to separate bathrooms to change into robes, and back to the quiet room. Finally we were escorted to our massage room above the waterfall in the center of the spa. After the massage, my wife and I retreated to our separate bathrooms to shower and get dressed before meeting up in the quiet room again.
Unfortunately, despite all the ritual and ambiance, I found the massage to be somewhat below average. My therapist did not massage my hands or feet, and the remainder seemed kind of hit and miss. Too much attention on some areas, and not enough on others.
I also found Shibui lacking as a couples experience. Other than the massage tables being in the same room, we were separated for showering, dressing, etc. It didn’t give us much bonding time.
My wife seemed to enjoy her massage, so our visit wasn’t a total loss. Personally, I find couples spa experiences more romantic and enjoyable when we can actually dress, shower, etc. together as a couple. Otherwise, we might as well go get separate massages.

This is a very special place. The setting is so amazing and the treatments are the best. I have had a message, facial and pedicure… all were wonderful. Tip… get there early to enjoy a cup of tea, the hot tube and sauna and make sure you have time to enjoy there wonderful bathroom, with every detail covered (razors, lotions and more). Truly worth every dollar!

Had a great massage from Becky yesterday afternoon. Recommend her highly! It’s a nice touch that with the massage, you get use of the hot tub and sauna, showers, robes and towel service. Very pleasant!

Why can’t Portland have a spa like this? I’ve been to them all in the Portland area and used to work at Avalon; I’ve never had a better spa experience than at Shibui. To take advantage of all the spa has to offer, arrive early and relax in the stone-​fountain hot tub and sauna. Be sure to pack a bag with your swim wear (coed spa area). Ladies and Mens locker rooms have showers and all bath amenities (shaving cream, lotions, shampoo/​conditioner, hair dryer, etc). Relax and enjoy!

Technically called Shibui, this Spa facility at Five Pines is the Perfect blend of East meets West décor and ambiance.
As with the Beautifully designed Cabins on the property, this spa is the ideal creation of what I envision in a spa. When you enter the spa from where you check in, you are refreshingly greeted by an indoor Zen waterfall with a large Buddha statue. Lemon infused water, mint tea and small servings of trail mix are all offered in the waiting area.
There are two outdoor seating areas if you want to catch some rays, the locker rooms provide all the toiletries you would need, the thermal soaking tub is wonderful and all the staff was extremely friendly.
We decided to do the brief 30min massage so we could hit the road back home earlier. To do any service at this spa is worth the opportunity to take advantage of the whole spa, although it is small it was SO worth it!
My husband and I fell in love with the Five Pines Property and will definitely be back! Quite the suprise in little Sisters, OR.

Out-​of-​this-​world massage. I got a Swedish massage from Kelly, and it was the best massage I’ve ever gotten! He listened to what I wanted, and it was pure heaven. Facilities were very nice, very Zen-​like. Be sure to arrive a little early to soak in the hot tub and munch on some nuts in the waiting area.
