This review is not for the golf course. Not for the tennis courts. Not for the swimming pool. Not for the hockey rink. Not for the playground. Not for the picnic grounds. This review is for the July 4th Concert performed by the Simsbury Community Band and held at the Simsbury Farms Recreation Complex on the outdoor semi-enclosed hockey rink. Let’s start with the cheerful high school volunteers who served up the ice cream and fixings for the old fashioned pre-concert ice cream social. Next, let’s salute the scores of children who grabbed an American flag and paraded around the hockey rink during the children’s march. Then we’ll salute the dozens of veterans who stood as the song for their branch of service was played. And finally, let’s salute the entire ten-song evening’s finale– a rousing rendition of The Stars and Stripes Forever. An amazing night,
