Been coming to this shop for years with all of my family’s cars. Honest work at a fair price which is hard to find these days. They tell you what the car needs or doesn’t need then they let you decide what to do.

They’re the best around. Honest people and extremely fair. Mike wont sell it to you if you dont need it. You cant ask for better customer service! I’ve been bringing my vehicles here for a few years now and they will have all of my future business as well.

I am pretty picky about where I take my cars to for service and repairs. I take good care of my cars and it kills me when I have to leave them somewhere in the hands of someone who probably does not care as much as I do. I am happy to say that is not the case at Shortee’s.
Mike is great, he is always honest and more often than not actually recommends not wasting money on a repair that won’t help whatever the problem is at the time. His prices are more than reasonable, you get a quality job that you know is done right and you won’t have to bring the car back in a week later with the same issue.
I have been going to Mike for almost two years now and I don’t plan on ever taking my vehicles anywhere else.

I have brought my cars to Shortee’s three times now and I am so impressed with both Shannon and Mike. Their repair prices have been fair and most importantly they are honest. With so many stories out there of unneeded car repairs out there it is wonderful to know that I can trust them.

I am in my ’60’s and we have been going to Shortees since shortly after they opened when Mike and Jeff were partners. I know of no other shop in Simi who I trust more than Shortees. More than once I have gone to Mike asking him for his diagnosis, once, for example, on my ’04 Corvette, when he told me that the problem had a recall several years back. He suggested that I go back to the dealer, as they MIGHT stand behind the «past due» re-​call, and in fact YES, they did! This repair would have cost me over $ 1,800! This is just ONE example of how Mike takes care of his customers. I have referred several friends, and they have saved big time by working with Mike instead of the dealer. Honesty and integrity… They are not the «cheap guy», but they are surely the «honest and reliable» guys to look to for all of your Automotive needs… Thanks Mike & Shannon!

We have been going to Mike for over 10 years now. He has helped both of my adult son’s in purchasing and servicing used cars and his advice is always spot-​on and honest. Him and his wife are hard working, honest and fair people and you get your vehicle back when they say you will. He backs up all his work completely and without any resistance.
I have been to plenty of other mechanics before I found Shortees and have never had the service and confidence that I do when they work on my car. So thankful to him both him, his team and his wife to rely on in our community.

I’ve taken my car to them for years. I don’t even live in Simi anymore but every couple months when I visit I’ll make an appt for an oil change and just to say hi. The team at Shortees is great. Super friendly. Mike and Shannon really take care of you. I totally trust them with my car. I even had a big repair that needed to be done and waited til the next time I’d be in Simi to have it done by them. Mike is great about explaining any car questions to me. Cause I know nothing about cars! And I really appreciate his honesty. I recommend them to all my friends in Simi and will continue too!

This is the number one automative shop in Simi Valley! ALWAYS honest with top notch quality and service. No matter what the issue, they diagnose the problem and report back in a timely manner with a fair price. They never push unnecessary repairs. They will fix the issue no matter how long it might take.

The shop is owned by a husband and wife (Mike and Shannon) team, and are very accommodating. One day I was at the shop with my 18 month old daughter, and Shannon took us home and picked us up when my car was done a few hours later. They’re honest with what needs to be done with my car, the prices are fair, and they don’t try to sell me on unnecessary repairs. They will also look at your car to try to diagnose a problem, and won’t charge you for it. I won’t take my car anywhere else! =)

I really believe that Mike is a honest mechanic. He’s been spot on with each mechanical issue we’ve brought to him over the last 5 years between three of our vehicles. He has provided consistency, knowledge and results in a timely manner at fair prices.
For example, we recently needed to repair our Mazda RX8. It needed a new catalytic converter and we all know that those are $$$$! We asked Mike if we should trade it in instead of fixing it.
Honestly we expected a biased opinion. If he advised to trade it in, he would obviously loose the job.
However, what he explained was that because of previous repairs he made to the car over the last two years (different problems) that now is the time to make a change and he would really recommend to trade it in versus fixing it. He said that we’ve put enough money into the car and that there could be additional problems with it down the road based on the mechanical history of the car.
He put the car back together and gave us back the keys without even charging us a cent for the diagnostic work-​up he did! We asked what we owed and another guy working there said to just bring them lunch one day (without onions hahaha).
Expect Lunch soon guys!
This is what a family-​style business should be and we will continue to take our vehicles to Shortees!

I have been taking my vehicles to Shortees for years. Mike always takes the time to listen to the issue at hand. He is the most honest mechanic I know. His pricing is fair and he thoroughly explains all of the work done.
Recently, I had purchased a used car for my son. Mike looked the car over and gave us an evaluation of what work was needed for now and what could wait. Most mechanic’s would try to get all of the work done now and present you with the bill.
I will never take any of my cars any where else.
