Kathy knows her stuff. She has helped me with many projects. They are soon celebrating 50 years in business. So many memories as I walk down the aisles. I’m amazed at how beautiful some of these treasures are. Made during an era when hand crafted was the only way.

Amazing owner named Kathy who really keeps a good place running. If you are looking to explore antiques items, you could do worse than this place. She has had this store for 50 years and the people who work there are very nice and helpful.

This place is just amazing!!! Its one of my favorite places in Simi Valley!!! I always leave with some little treasure! I have bought many great things here!!! Penny Pincher has this very old school thrift shop feel where the locals may come and hang out. Complimentary cookies and coffee. I just really cannot say enough great things about this place! Kathy the owner has the sweetest heart and it’s always a pleasure to see her! You will find yourself on a first name basis in no time with this charming little hidden gem of a shop! & I might add this place is top notch and stands above all other shops in all of Simi Valley! 5***** all the way!!!

Fantastic variety of items at reasonable prices. Kathy, the Owner knows her stuff, and is always happy to answer questions. They are having a BIGANNIVERSARYSALE there on Sat/Sun. Aug. 16th/17th. There will be Vendors in the back selling their wares, and there will be hot dogs, drinks, etc… too. Stop by for some great deals. I will.

What a wonderful little place. I was recently on the prowl for a wooden cane, and didn’t have time to order one online. NOONE had one, except them! I ran in, in a hurry, and grabbed the cane. But boy, did I want to stay. So I came back! A few days later I came in to peruse, and fell in love with this little shop. They had great items, and I ended up spending 45 minutes just looking through old records. I had no idea I had even been there that long… Eventually I found myself looking at a few frames of sheet music covers from the early 1900’s. I asked if they had any more, and a very kind man pointed me to a corner of the store. Unfortunately, they were closing, but he invited me back. He informed me that there’s chairs by the box of sheet music, and they would provide water bottles to make a day out of it! I recently had been to Fishy Finds in Simi, and while they had a large and wonderful selection of items, I have only had bad experiences with customer service. Apparently a good amount of Unilocalers have too. I am all about customer service, and without good customer service, forget about it. I don’t care how good their product is. I experienced GREAT customer service at Penny Pinchers, and everyone there is so sweet. I plan on returning, and yes, making a day out of it.

The owner moved over to Tapo st. in the Tapo oaks center, back area I needed a hat for opening day at the races and when I walked in someone had just dropped off a huge box, I think this was my lucky day :) I got two and my daughter found a GREAT cowboy fringed jacket… It’s still fun to vintage shop!

Love this place!!! I try to stop by here every so often when I go out to Simi to visit the fam. Usually I drag my Mom with me which isn’t a stretch since my Mom loves shopping«Gee I wonder where I get it from?!» So this place is set up with little vendor booths and one check out counter. Handy set up because you can just wander around and pick out all kinds of goodies and then just pay for it all in one swoop. Here is some of the random goodies I have found here: Vintage 8.5“x11″ headshot of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Gigantic wood bangle bracelet that was purchased for $ 5 before that whole trend started. *Bonus* could also double as a napkin ring for a giant! 60’s lucite ring I’m sure I have bought more from here but that is what comes to mind… I remember feeling like I was in paradise the first time I came here back in high school. I love going back, makes me feel all nostalgic. :)
