Mark is an incredibly honest auto mechanic who stands by his work. My boyfriend’s father has been bring their vehicles to him for years. When my 2006 Taurus with 153K miles was starting to overheat going up the grapevine this summer, he replaced the cooling system for a very reasonable price compared to Pepboys (they wanted to charge me $ 550 for less than half of the work that Mark did for $ 850; he quoted me at $ 280 for what Pepboys wanted to do). A few weeks after the cooling system update it overheated more severely, and I had it tow back to him. He did another thorough check, put a new belt, gave me an extra belt, and put additional fluids in it for free. He told me the issue was a weak cylinder causing the whole engine to overwork (thus overheat).
I wish I could continue to take my Taurus to him, but now it’s in Bakersfield and he advised to not take it back over the grapevine. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends.
