J’s Club Shack

Update:
I finally played a round with my driver and the new diamana white board shaft Jason sold me. The club head came clean off because of a lack of epoxy, he told me he would stand behind his product but multiple phone calls and a voicemail later no reply. Now I’m stuck with a brand new driver head with scratches all over it because it went flying off my shaft because of the lack of quality of work.

I’ve been playing golf for 35 years and I am finally starting to have some more fun. Thanks to Jason! The story starts with my putter. I had bought a very expensive putter but sadly I could never get it to work as well as it did in the store. Jason custom fit and counter balanced my putter and WOW it worked much better. So much so that I made more presure putts and the FEEL of the putter is FANTASTIC! So I asked what else can you do? He then custom fit my Clubs. WOWOWOWOW! Longer and straighter! Don’t buy new clubs, for a fraction of the price have them fit for your swing, it really helps and works! Jason is a easy guy to work with and you will thank me for this advice.

My golf irons were not performing… Correctly I believed. At address the lie appeared about two degrees toe high. I live in Camarillo, CA and club makers in this area declined to adjust the lie angle of my golf irons. Each stated, I can’t bend these, «you must send them back to the manufacturer». So I contacted Jason, was assured adjustment could be made, made an appointment and showed up at his «Club Shack». His professionalism was impressive. He had me hit a few balls on the adjacent driving range (what could be more convenient ?) and used that data to arrive at the correct iron adjustment. In about 45 minutes my entire set of irons were adjusted. During the adjustment process of each iron, he double checked on his computer the factory specifications for my specific set. Believe me, It’s worth a trip to his business if you need a professional club maker that as they say «goes the extra distance». I’ll be back.

Jason built me a set of Titlest MB712’s with KBS C-​Taper shafts. How awesome is it when you go to a club maker and when you pick them up you can walk 10 feet with your new clubs and test them out on a grass driving range. Or walk over to the Starter and take your new Sticks on the course for a test drive. Well you can do that at J’s. He can build them from scratch as well as all the other things you can get done. Can’t do this at Golfsmith. Get you putter customized and then walk 20 feet to a putting green and try it out. Can’t do that at Golfsmith. Get your clubs truly fitted to you with the computer on a grass range, How cool is that? Beats getting fitted hitting into a net off a mat. Who wants to get fitted like that? Get fitted like the Pro’s do, off the grass at the Driving Range.

Jason has been doing the best golf repair and re-​griping in Ventura county for years. His family used to own the local Pro Golf Discount shop in Simi so he has a great reputation for doing excellent work. He completes his work fast, affordable, and with a smile. Jason takes great pride in his work which is reflected in the quality of the products he produces. His re-​gripping is precise and never has tape, glue dripping off the club, or torch marks on the shaft. I’ve had a few sets of clubs re-​shafted as well and I couldn’t have been happier with the finished products.
Jason also does club fitting and can fit any golfer with the right clubs for all ages and skill levels. I’m not sure if he still teaches but if you need some swing tips I’m sure he’d be more than happy to offer some words of wisdom.
