I wish I had known then what I know now. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Who puts a down spot on the outside of a gate that swings outward? The downspout had to be removed to open the gate. I have tried many times to get through to the company with no avail. I just pray there are no issues with the roof when the rains comes. Don’t piss away $ 10,000 like I did!!!

Beware of Jack Bohm, he is a racist. He went off on my co worker calling her the N word and threatening to beat her up at a Starbucks!

When Jack came out and looked at our roof, he recommended a silicone coating rather than re roof. OK.
10 year warranty, he guaranteed it would fix any issues. First rain, the roof leaks. Call Jack, no reply, call again, no return call, call again, nothing. Eventually I had to write a demand letter and what do you know? they call me back. A worker comes and «fixes» the roof with a bunch of Henry patches. Great, I could do that myself and save $ 10k. Next rain, roof leaks… I call Jack, no reply, call again… you get the picture, I send them another letter… Hey, a guy comes out. Next rain… leak! I call Jack, no reply, starting to get the picture? Eventually I hear from Jack, he’s been injured… Ohhhh Kaaaayy… He comes out and guarantees it will be fixed. Next rain…
Yeah, so I go on the roof. First, they did one coat of silicone when the manufacturer recommended a minimum of two. You could see through it. Next, the roof and coating was cracked all over the roof. I documented the problems with pictures and called Jack… no reply, call again… and so on…
Another demand letter…

This is my «dads» company. I dont know if I can even call him that. He is a terrible person. do not use him. He’s committing fraud at his business, doesn’t pay his child support for me or my brother, abuses both of us, has 3 DUIs in Simi Valley. Don’t believe me? Look up Jack Bohm under arrests. I pray to God he loses this business because from what I read on here. He isn’t a nice man. He will screw you over. I sat in the office once and listened to how many lies the secretary would tell people on the phone just to save her ass.

Had Jack out to give an estimate to clean gutters and add downspouts. He told me I had roof issues (it has never leaked) and should consider repairing the whole roof. I asked for an estimate — he said he would email it the next day. That was 10 days ago. Very unprofessional and a waste of my time.

Jack came out to my house, did an estimate. My husband really liked him so we decided to go with him. I called him and he said he would call me back within the hour about a opening on Dec2. That was over 2 weeks ago. I have called him several times left several messages and he has not called back at all. So i have now sat over 2 weeks needing a roof thinking this person was coming and nothing.

Jack the Roofer took good care of me and my roof. The job was done in the time promised using top materials. The crew was very conscientious of the job. They replaced dry rot and some termite damaged wood and I’m pleased with the outcome. Very professional! Thanks Jack!

I have home for seniors and we had a leek that needed to be fixed. When Jack showed up 1 hour late I shower him the room that we had the problem in. I told him I would show him how to get in the attic and the best way to get on the roof. He said he didn’t need to and that he would be back in a few minutes. Over an hour later I looked and his truck was gone. I called up and they said they didn’t know where he was. How can you give me a price to fix a roof if you don’t look at it?

Top Quality work at a very fair price. We recently had our tile roof replaced by Jack
The Roofer. They were extremely easy to work with. They answered our questions and explained all of our options. The crew was great. They worked hard and finished the job quickly. They completely cleaned up every day so there was no mess. They also fixed dry rot and other damage. We could not be happier with the job they did.

Being in the consumer protection business, I spend a lot of time with contractors and have had thousands of experiences both good and bad. I can tell you that my experience with Jack the Roofer was awesome. I spent most of the time working with Neil and Ginger, both just top notch people. Jack and Neil worked with me on our tight budget, made some recommendations that proved to be invaluable and produced an end-​result that completely changed the look of our house. Neil and his crew arrived each day in a timely manner, were very courteous, worked like dogs and kept me posted as the project progressed. Considering that contractor fraud and complaints are out of control in California, having the opportunity to work with Jack the Roofer was a really refreshing experience. I went with Jack the Roofer based on a number of community recommendations and a thorough background check which our
team does routinely. I’ve seen his work in the community and spoken with a dozen of his past clients and all had the same experience I did. I’m so impressed with him and his team that I plan to add them to our Delta5 Preferred Service Providers list.

Jack the Roofer replied to my review however I don’t think he is thinking of the right person as he is talking about a «he» and I’m a she! I stand by my review. I got 4 quotes and decided to use James Robertson for my roof and he did a fantastic job, I would recommend him 100%. I picked him for his fantastic reviews on Unilocal and the fact that he didn’t have any complaints with BBB, Jack the Roofer has a complaint listed with them. We did have small patches dry rot but no leaks, all the other roofers who quoted went up and walked the actual roof and inspected the fascias around the house before they quoted, Jack the Roofer was the only one who didn’t go up on the roof to inspect, and the only one who said we had a leak. The other roofers said the roof was water tight but had dry rot on the fascias and it was getting close to replacement time.
Unilocalers can read the reviews and make their own decision. I made my decision and I’m glad I used James R Robertson to replace my roof. My neighbor was so impressed with them she is getting her roof done by James R Robertson next week.

We had our home re-​modeled some years ago and our contractor worked closely with «Jack The Roofer» so we selected him for our customized multi-​pitched roof. We were extremely impressed at the time with the service and quality work Jack and his team provided. Now some years later, Jack always stands behind his work and responds to any minor servicing that may be needed on the roof. We realized that we had some open areas where little «critters» were getting into our Attic and Jack immediately took care of our needs and sealed them up as a courtesy service step. This speaks loudly to the type of business owner and company Jack (Jack the roofer) manages.
I would highly recommend this company. They are committed to service and quality work.

After spending two weeks looking for a roofer our next door neighbors recommended Jack. The price was right and he Colleen and his company were the best!

No way!!! My mother had Jack the Roofer (Jack himself) out to her house and we had leaks in my brothers room. He charged us $ 1200.00 to do what??? Ill tell you exactly… TO POUR TAR ALL OVER OUR ROOF which looked HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL. And the worst part… it continued to leak once the first rain… So my mother calls Jack and what did he do to fix it? He poured more tar! I felt like I was at a field trip to the La Brea Tar Pits!!! My poor mom is a single mom, I was so disappointed by what seemed like this nice guy who brought his cute dog everywhere with him… When my fiancé finally checked out what the deal was it was embarrassing. It looked horrible and then all the sudden Jack was unreachable. what a sign of poor workmanship. We had to hire someone completely new to FIX someone elses mistakes. Save yourself the time. I am not one to badmouth others but I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy.

Everybody from this company is great to deal with — knowledgeable and professional. Jack came out to the house and reviewed the work to be done at the property and provided a fair and comprehensive estimate for roof & gutter work. Colleen in the office is prompt with return calls/​appointments and is just a joy to talk to (tempted to call for no reason just to hear her voice). On the day the work was completed Travis and associate (my bad on name — but you know who you are) both did a great job with the gutter work on the house and were polite & efficient.
Wait — it gets better. About a month after the work was done a leak showed up in the garage during recent heavy rains. After a call to the office they sent Russell out on the next dry day to check out the problem. He pointed out the areas of concern, explained the problems (bad sealing on some flashing & a bum tile) and made the repair.
Long story short — Jack the Roofer (and team) are great at what they do and most importantly… stand behind their work. I’ll be recommending them to friends, family & neighbors for years to come.

Jack the Roofer is a stand-​up guy. After having done some minor repairs for us at our previous home, he was asked to examine the roof of a home for which we were in escrow. He gave us a straight opinion on the condition of the roof. His report was challenged by the seller’s agent, who found another contractor to state a different opinion.
Escrow closed, we moved in. First rains came — guess what? We had a roof leak. Jack came out and stated that the other roof contractor /​seller should stand by their position that the roof was in decent condition. He called the seller’s agent for us and suggested that this was no way to do business. He reminded her that he’d given his professional opinion that the roof was nothing but trouble.
Within 24 hours the other roofer arranged to come by to examine the leaking area. He said that he would make needed repairs. As soon as the roof dried out, he sent a crew to find the problem and fix it.
I believe this would not have happened so quickly and without further fuss had Jack not been kind enough to get involved. He made a couple of phone calls and results happened. This was out of his professional courtesy.
If we stay in this house long enough to need a full roof replacement, Jack will be who we trust to do the job. He is straight talking and very protective of his customers. Colleen in his office is terrific, too. Give them a call when you need roof work done!

I needed a new roof for my house and got 7 estimates. All of them came in relatively the same, however, the deciding factor for me was the friendliness and no «hard sell» approach that I encountered with their entire team. Colleen in this office was great and was very thorough in explaining the entire job to me, not to mention REALLY nice!
I signed the contract and they started on my new roof within two weeks. They immediately called me when they encountered two more layers of old roof that needed to be torn off but they didn’t want to continue until they had my permission. I accepted the reasonable additional cost and 4 days later, I had a beautiful new roof.
The entire process from beginning to end was quick and painless, and the crew cleaned up nicely.
I definitely recommend Jack and his team if you want honest, reliable service. Definitely a great experience!
