Hole in the wall and its in Simi, less than 5 minutes from the house and I never even try it or see it. But after once or twice a week here now I can really do review. A MUST try specially when u live in Simi, the best there is. My favorite is country fried steak, fried to perfection and the gravy totally amazing. Pair it with O’Brian and French toast for me. Highlights is their hospitality, Armando is like uncle you never knew and the staff just like your cousins. Something to look forward whenever I come here for breakfast. Keep it up guys, Dan

Sincerely Armando, Thanks for a great breakfast spot. Really, my wife Cris won’t go any place else. I got hooked on your Salmon Benedict our first time in, and Cris being a real French Toast devotee says yours is absolutely the best in Simi. Subsequently having tried your Tamale breakfast, the Machaca, Country Fried Steak and your pancakes… every item has been wonderful. Ferretiz is on the small size but has a huge friendly heart. It’s obvious that the folks here actually care about their patrons… service with a genuine smile and a can-do attitude. Over all a comfortable neighborhood restaurant with delicious food(your grandmother wishes she cooked this well) run and serviced by some of the nicest folks around.

Hello Unilocalers! We selected this place for it’s star ratings and I have to say as far as the food goes it did not disappoint! I wanted to give it 3.5 stars however it’s 3 or 4 and I felt I could not give it a 4 start rating based on service. That is not to say the staff is unfriendly because I thought everyone was great. However, it is a very small place. My guess is 12 tables including the one outside. With 4 people buzzing about including the manager, I kept wondering where the breakdown was between us getting our requested items and who is cooking in the back? Décor — eh. Wait time for food once order placed…5 stars!

OK, everybody liked this place I went today and it was good. The problem I have is all the breakfast menu is way to expensive, too much food, why not have a little less menu for us that don’t want to be Plumpers, I ordered the biscuits and gravy and 2 scrambled eggs which was very good, but they lacked on gravy which disappointed me, so 2orders of biscuit and gravy which lacked, and 2eggs, double order was over $ 12, are you kidding me, I’ll eat at home and cook my own shit, by the way the waitress was very nice, this place is good but I won’t be back

We love this family oriented restaurant. Delicious Cali-comfort food, great atmosphere, and perfect servers. Location could be better and a patio would be amazing. Feeling stuffed!

I don’t live anywhere near here but stopped to get some breakfast while I’m in town for work. Very comfortable atmosphere with very friendly staff and quality food. I would recommend the location to anyone in or outside of town. Thanks for the experience.

I’ve been on a kick trying new places I haven’t been to lately, and I must say I was quite surprised by this little hole in the wall establishment! My girlfriend order their chicken Parmesan sandwich, which is made with their«secret sauce» and munched between 2 pieces of thick, toasted garlic Texas toast. The onion rings were fried wonderfully, and the chicken was grilled well. Whatever sauce they use on that thing is amazing! My biscuits and gravy were served with a generous portion of hash browns, bacon, sausage, and eggs. The biscuits were fluffy, the gravy had the right amount of thickness to it, and the rest of the plate complimented the meal well. This place is definitely going on my list of top breakfast joints. Along with the superb service and relaxed atmosphere, I commend the owner and employees for providing such a great experience!

This place, almost hidden among the Troop real estate offices is a great breakfast place. Eggs, sausage, french toast, pan cakes are all good. As always, bring your own maple syrup — no place in Simi seems to offer the real thing. Service is good and this is a really good breakfast value.

In a nutshell, food was really good. Had the country fried steak and eggs. Probably the best country fried steak I have ever had. Place is too small, tables too small. Had my wife and two of our kids. Felt like if someone had to hiccup, we were going to knock stuff off the table. Again, food was really good. Try it, you’ll like it.

I cant believe I haven’t stumbled across this place sooner after being in Simi all my life. Wow, the breakfast and lunch options are endless. I stepped out of the box and went with the country fried steak and eggs, absolutely delicious! And the price is on point. The restraint was clean and the service was great. Can’t wait to come back!

(+) Not only is the food good, but the prices are excellent. Really great value. (+) Breakfast is on point. Burgers on point(same owner as nearby Burger Express). Lunch too. Brunch munch munch. (+) Mexican inspired specials like enchiladas and burritos. Nice variety on top of solid breakfast options. (+) It’s in a small strip mall on L.A. Ave, plenty of parking. Kind of a hidden gem in Simi, hopefully the word doesn’t spread too much ;) (-) Small room, can be very tightly packed and expect to wait if you have a large party. Not much waiting room either indoors, just a few chairs.

Awesome local hole in the wall breakfast joint. I had the Biscuit and gravy combo. It comes with sausage and bacon even though it isn’t on the menu. Delicious. Great after a long night of drinking.

I had the house breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. The egg was a little burnt which is perfect for a sandwich because it stays intact, and I love that flavor. The garlic bread added such a great mild flavor to the sandwich. Everything was delicious. Great service!

We had breakfast today. Power sandwich and Machaca and eggs. Both were very good and plenty. My wife wanted a piece of toast for jam and it was provided at no extra charge. A simple good place to eat.

My girlfriend and I decided to try this place for breakfast today after reading some of the reviews here on Unilocal.I am so happy we made this decision. Ferretiz is a nice hole-in-the-wall restaurant whose excellent food is matched by their service. Upon entering the packed restaurant(a good sign), we were seated right away and were given fresh coffee — not stuff that’s been sitting around for 2 hours. I ordered the California Omelet and my gf tried their breakfast burrito. Both were absolutely delicious and fresh. My omelet was packed with avocado, bacon, tomato, and cheese, and the hash browns were just perfect. It only took them several minutes to get both of our meals out, and it was divine. This place also has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The people working here seemed happy to help us and it made the experience very memorable. 2 sizable meals and 2 coffees for roughly $ 20. Good deal! Will definitely be coming back to this awesome neighborhood restaurant.

This place is great! From the service, to the food, to the portion sizes, to the affordable prices, everything stood out in a good way! I ordered the chicken enchilada omelet, which was basically chicken plus tortilla strips and enchilada sauce poured over a cheddar cheese omelet. The thing was massive; there was probably 4 eggs in there! More importantly, it was quite tasty, and I enjoyed the hearty, fresh pieces of chicken. It also came with a side of potatoes — delicious — as well as toast. All that for only $ 8.95. Service was friendly and fast too, the way we all like it. My friends also enjoyed their dishes, which were also monstrously sized. The French toast, the biscuits and gravy, the hash browns, breakfast burrito — everything looked delicious! I’d love to go back again if I’m ever in the area again.

This is not a place to drive 5 miles or more. It’s a no frills little square of a place in a little strip mall in an unpicturesque /non-upscale area of Simi Valley. Still, because of the ratings I went for it. I ordered the special, Machaca & Eggs plate for $ 8.95 — it was HUGE. I tried to eat at all, and I couldn’t. Ask for their special hot sauce — it’s the bomb. Generally, I am not a fan of just«good food». I am all about experience. If you are local and just want a simple but good place to go – this is so it. The service is very nice and accommodating. Thumbs up.
