History

Established in 2011.

Barger Electric was started by my father in Lancaster CA. In 2011 I Rick Barger Jr. took over Barger Electric and moved the company to Simi Valley CA. Together we have over 30 years of experience. I take pride in Barger Electric in doing great work and having a clean jobsite. Customer service comes first. We are here for every electrical need inside or outside your house or business. We have an A rating on Angies List and plan to maintain it. We are running new specials every month so call now.

Rick Barger Jr, began his electrical apprenticeship at age of 16 while still in high school. At the time, he would tag along and assist his father and commercial electrical contractor Rick Barger Sr on service calls and other basic installs.

Soon afer turning 18, Rick Barger would begin his own career as an apprentice electrician. It wouldn’t take long before Rick Barger picked up on some of the most demanding aspects of being an electrician, in just 2 years he became a journeyman electrician. As a journeyman, he not only developed his hands-​on electrical expertise, but also the in-​and-​outs of customer service and management.

In 2010, Rick decided to launch his own electrical contractor company and partnered with his father, Rick Sr, in the formation of his own company, which is known today as Barger Electric of Simi Valley.

I had Rick come out to my house to do some electrical work, and was very impressed with his work, and customer service! It was urgent that he came out without a lot of notice to help on a issue I was having on some electrical problems, and he came right out, and took care of all the problems I was having, and was fair on his price. This is the first time I used Rick, and will definitely be using him again!

Great work… really liked the owner. Honest and does quality work. Installed several switches, outlets and recessed lights with minimal disturbance to drywall. Only downfall was scheduling… so busy and has jobs lined up for weeks.

After poor experience with Gil Electric a number of years ago and seeing the many poor reviews for Asi Electric, we had Barger quote us to have at total of 11 recessed lights, 2 dimmers, and a ceiling fan/​light installed throughout the house. A very fair price was quoted and we agreed to give him a shot. Even though he had some projects he needed to finish and it was 2 weeks before was able to come out to do the job, Rick came yesterday at 8am and was completely done by 11am, leaving a superb installation and NO ATTEMPTS TO UPSELL and add-​on additional charges. We paid what he quoted and definitely got more than our money’s worth.

Since my last review Rick and I have communicated our misunderstanding and have moved forward with electrical work needed in my home. The installation of a ceiling fan and LED lights along with other work was performed in a professional manner and in a reasonable time period. Rick’s prices were reasonable and he even troubleshooted some others issues at no charge. I would recommend him and his partner due to their professional work.

Wicked Awesome service. Rick did an amazing job. 34 recessed lights. 4 fans. Added some sockets and dimmers. Also trouble shot a preexisting electrical issue and solved it.
He was very competitively priced.
He was easy to communicate and work with.

We recently purchased a home that needed a good amount of electrical work: wiring, recessed lighting, exterior lighting, etc. Rick provided us with a fair and competitive estimate and delivered on everything. He was great at helping us think outside the box to find solutions based on the home layout and our needs. He was on time, and did the job with speed and quality. Definitely recommend Rick Barger.

Barger Electric came on a recommendation from my mother. Her two story house suffered a water leak and after the first floor ceiling was replaced she had Rick from Barger Electric install recessed lighting in her family room and kitchen. I highly recommend Barger Electric. Rick installed recessed lighting in my living room and hallway. He was very efficient, performed quality work and cleaned up afterwards where there was no evidence he was even here. If you need recessed lighting or any other electrical work… Rick is your man

Wow, this guy is a flake. I thought I had a good relationship with the guy (Rick Barger) because I met him at the gym. Nice enough guy, but no follow-​through. Made an appointment, then met him, walked the job. After that, no follow-​through, left message 3 times but no call back. He just fell off the face of the earth. Then, I get an email from Joel Fischenich from Barger that he wants to add me to their mailing list so I accepted their request. However, still no phone call back and its been a week so I had to move on and hire someone else. Just seems like a waist of time to set an appointment, then walk the job-​site, and never hear back without even a courtesy call.

Used Barger in the past and Rick was terrific so obviously I called to use again. Unfortunately I guess he was is always great (at least the first time around) and must be very busy because after numerous calls and unanswered messages I was unable to set up an appointment and had to use Good Light Electric — another electrician in Simi. Oh well, he was terrific too. I’m happy Barger is making money but I wish they would at least let the customer know they are not taking new jobs at this time so we can avoid the hassel.

Barger Electric’s work and prices are good. But, I found it really difficult to get in touch with him. It took a couple of calls to set-​up the appointment. He wasn’t able to finish a small part of the job due to missing some materials and said he would come back and finish the job. He never called. I left two voice-​mails. No response. I have to call someone else to do this work now. Poor customer service from that end.
Sadly, this could have been a 4 or 5 star review.

In highly recommend Barger Electric! Rick installed a recessed outlet for my TV mounted on the wall and replaced 3 GFI’s. He was polite, efficient and clean. I plan on having them come back for some other lighting issues. Thanks Rick!

Rick is great! He is always available to us, even on short notice. He doesnt mind stepping into a project already underway and finishing up the hard parts for us. He has done work for my husband and I, and also for other family members in their homes. He has done both indoor and outdoor electrical work for us too!

No call — no show is my biggest pet peeve just ahead of losing my contact information from two days past which is just ahead of taking no action to help a customer you may or may not have been too sick to service. Lesson learned; I will not be calling again. Hope your head feels better, Rick.
