Arlene’s Skin Care & Electrolysis Spa

I recently had a facial at Arlene’s with Alexis and it was FABULOUS!!! She goes thru the steps of a facial like anyone can but it was the massage that is amazing! She really had me wanting to moan-​it felt sooooo good! Believe me, she still does the extractions (ouch), cleansing and masks but the massage part makes it really wonderful. Arlene’s is in a medical building so it’s not one of those day spas that you see right away but it is truly a little hidden paradise. The prices are very reasonable too! I highly recommend Alexis.

I have been seeing Arlene for electrolysis. I am really embarrassed about the excess hair that I get and have dealt with for the last 10 years, since teenage years. I am so glad I have started to see Arlene so I can put an end to this, permanently. Does it hurt? You betcha! But it is so so worth it, just take deep breaths. So far I’ve had 4 treatments and will continue to go until the hair is gone forever. Getting electrolysis to fix my problem is the biggest gift I could ever give myself, and I mean that from the heart. Arlene has such a kind heart and I feel very comfortable with her. I wish I had done this earlier in life.

I have been going to Arlene’s for over ten years and every experience has been wonderful. I highly recommend Arlene’s facials and Lisa’s massages. The spa itself is cute and welcoming. I urge people to give Arlene’s a try.

First visit was on Saturday. Place was easy to find and the lounge area was inviting. It almost had a kitchen type feel to it with the table setting and all. It was cute =) The receptionist was nice and she welcomed me with a warm neck pad to release any tension I have while I was waiting for my appt. I filled out the paperwork and waited probably about 5 mins. I can hear that Arlene was with another client so waiting was not an issue. She introduced herself and made me feel comfortable. She did not hesitate to explain what she was doing/​using on my face. She massaged my feet and that almost put me to sleep omg hahaha… Every facial I have gotten from other places had their own techniques and so far, I like hers the best. She exfoliated me and used this mini vacuum like tool to suck up the dead skin cells. She even put an oatmeal mask on my face. She says that often times, people think they need harsh stuff on your face but oatmeal has healing properties and good for sensitive skin. After the appt was over, she gave me water to hydrate. I learned a lot during the visit and I can’t wait to go back. My face feels so refreshed! I plan to keep seeing her and I would recommend her!

I travel to Simi for work and my New Years Resolution was to stop plucking and start actually getting rid of unwanted hairs. I looked on Unilocal for a solution in Simi and am SO grateful I found Arlene. She was super friendly and hospitable. Her receptionist was very sweet and they both offered me water, snacks and made me feel welcome. I could not recommend Arlene more for electrolysis. The procedure itself was comfortable and she worked quickly. When I was working with a specific time frame, she was able to fit me in! I’m excited to go back for the third time! Truly a great find.

Arlene and her staff are great! She is flexible and accommodating and personable. The store is clean and she is knowledgeable. She is always giving out free samples.

I have treated at Arlene’s off and on for many years. Arlene is the owner of Arlene’s Skin Care and an esthetican also. I think Arlene knows each and every person who has ever come to the spa.
I hadn’t been for awhile and my skin was horrible. I needed treatment. I emailed Arlene’s general email address, gave her some insight into who I was and wondered if I might get in for a facial quickly. Within 48 I had a return email, appointment and facial and now my skin is on the mend. Arlene is very personable. Her skin care practice a main stay and she is never pushy about product sales. The menu of options you can choose from is varied. I say «go» in fact, «go now!»

I’m a spa savvy gal. So giving Arlene’s 4 stars means a WHOLE lot! See, I like facials. Like, I LIKE facials. Sometimes I like facials more than massages (‘cept with my hot stone massage at TW, holla!). So when I invest my hard earned monies I go somewhere where I feel safe to expose my delicate face and trust that they will not abuse their duty of prettying up my skin!
I have known Arlene since the late 90’s and she has been the owner and main Esthetician since I could remember. Their main product of choice here is Dermologica. I’ve been using Dermologica for over the past 15 years and can say, Bible, it is one of the lightest, non-​greasy, results-​driven products I have ever come across (next to KFI). I always come out of a facial feeling and looking fully refreshed, cleansed, and rejuvenated.
I come here because they are professional. Services have a nice, seamless flow, and I need to be able to connect with my therapist in order to relax and enjoy my experience and I always do! I know, it’s just a facial but there’s really no point to have this type of service done if you can’t relax and enjoy it!
Another plus is that the retail area is very clean and organized and there is always someone being super attentive to your needs and they are very helpful AND knowledgeable about your overall skincare and their products. WIN WIN!

Great place if you want to treat yourself. My wife had an amazing experience for her birthday! Great facial and treatments. Arlene is very nice, please go and you won’t regret it!
