I only go to A&D Automotive for my two cars, and have for many years. If you want the most trustable and honest auto repair shop in Ventura County, go to A&D Automotive. They have never disappointed me or my wife.

Save yourself the headache and heartache and do not use this garage. The place is set up and staffed by a bunch of Mr. Goodwrench want a bees, GM’s throwbacks that couldn’t make the cut. The kind of place you take your car to that needs a starter and you wind up being told that you have to buy a new battery even though there’s nothing wrong with your battery and they want to charge you $ 450 to replace a starter.
Being the skeptic that I am I walked across the alley to their competitor named Santiago’s the exact same repair with a new starter installed parts and labor complete came to $ 180.and what took A&D automotive over five hours to give me the an estimate, charged me $ 110 to give me that estimate and left my car a mess inside with greasy footprints to boot. It only took Santiago’s an hour and a half to complete the entire job and all for less then half of what A&D automotive quoted !!

This shop has been servicing and repairing my cars for over 20 years. Having a place you can trust your cars too is so important but difficult to find. It really feels like a luxury being able to rely on these guys.

A & D is great when they have the time to help you. Friendly and knowledgable, but very busy. A few months ago, I dropped my car off when it wouldn’t start and it took them a week to look at it and change the battery. I brought the car back today for a different problem, and they were full so I had to take it somewhere else. Other times when I’ve taken my car to A & D, they were able to help me and I felt they were honest and reliable. So like I said, great when they have the time for you.

I was a customer of A and D for many years. Having a mechanic you can trust is equally as important as having a good mechanic. I had my car serviced at GMC for the time I was still under warranty and yet they still would find ways to milk money out of me. I decided to go back to my trustworthy A and D because I trusted them to be honest with me and not try to charge me for services I didn’t need or they didn’t do. I throughly enjoyed Dave and his pups. He is one of the nicest, most genuine and knowledgeable people I have ever met.
I say «was», because I have since moved away from the area. Trying to find a good mechanic in my new town has proven a tiresome process. I have yet to find anyone who even compares to the service I received at A and D. I still come to town to visit family and I still take my car to be serviced there while I am in town. I just hope nothing major goes on with my car because a tow ride to his shop 300 miles away would be an expensive one, but probably worth it.

After having numerous problems with our Subaru at dealerships, we wanted to find a trustworthy local independent mechanic. After reviewing the AAA list, A & D came up on their list and was highly recommended.
We brought the car in for an engine replacement and they not only completed the job perfectly, but also charged a very competitive price for parts and labor. They also did a follow up inspection on the job at no charge. Our Subaru actually runs as good as new! Since then we’ve been back for maintenance and they continue to earn our trust and do great work.
They are extremely knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I highly recommend A & D.

Terrible Service… the owner seems to pass the buck and he put in a battery that was smaller than the required one for my car. Never going to this place again

We bring all our cars to a and d for service and maintenance. I have found them to be very honest, timely with work being done and all at a reasonable price. Cannot imagine taking our cars anywhere else. It is nice knowing that I don’t have to pay the high prices of repair charged at a dealership and that I am not being sold repairs that my cars don’t need!
