I love Wishy Wash. Rick and his team are amazing.
I was living in an apartment building, which was having trouble with laundry machines. They had been out of service since October and by the end of November I had reached my limit. I came to Unilocal and prayed I could find a pick up/​drop off laundry service or even better a delivery service for laundry. Unilocal didn’t disappoint when it suggested Wishy Wash.
I emailed Rick and said I only really needed a once a week pick up for my small (30 lbs) load each week and told him about our laundry issue. He suggested that we do twice a week until we caught up and then go back to once a week. He also added me to the pick up for the next day! I can’t even begin to say how wonderful it was to catch up on the laundry.
It was always back on time. Folded neatly and wrapped with care. The prices were also great given I never had to go to the Laundromat, and when I needed to skip pick up (because I was on travel) was just a short email off to Rick and it was handled. Charged directly to my credit card and it was seamless.
The husband and I are now moving, so we are going to have to do our own laundry, but for the last few months I felt like a princess not having to do my least favorite chore. Thank you Rick and team for everything.

I love the staff and service at wishy wash. The machines stay in service and the ladies stay busy keeping them tended and facility clean. Rick hires great staff and trains well. Always a pleasant experience.

Wishy Wash — picks up my laundry from my front door every 2 weeks (you can pick more or less often). A couple of days later, my laundry is back at my front door, washed beautifully and folded much, much better than I could ever do, for a reasonable price (seriously, only slightly more expensive than quarter fed machines in apartment buildings).
Why didn’t anyone tell me I could do this before? I haven’t done laundry in months and my life has never been better. Nothing has ever come back stained or missing, or anything like that. Rick (the owner) is also great about keeping me updated. Snow storm that will impact pick up? Rick’s on top of it with an email. Wishy Wash is never late in emailing me my receipt. They even sent me a Christmas card! Do not hesitate to use their pickup service, even if it’s for a one-​off!

Cannot say enough good about WishyWash Wash! I LOVE this service — top notch! Every Tuesday morning I put a bag of dirty laundry out and every Friday I get back clean, fresh smelling, nicely folded laundry. Somehow they make my clothes look better! Their dry cleaning service? The best we have ever used!

I love, love, love the Wishy Wash — their services and staff are top-​notch. I’ve been using them for years to pick up, wash, dry, fold, and return my laundry to me at my third floor walk-​up location. I cannot speak highly enough of the Wishy Wash! If you don’t want to or cannot do your own laundry, call these guys.

I went here because of the reviews on Unilocal and I was really happy with the service I received. I paid for the drop off service for $ 1/​lb and got my laundry back perfectly folded, cleaned and packaged the next day as promised. Some people mentioned that their clothes were not ready on time – I called ahead just to make sure that mine were done to avoid this potential issue. There is also parking in the back which is really convenient. I would definitely recommend this place to others and come back again!

I can’t tell you how many times the wonderful staff at the Wishy Wash has helped me catch up on my laundry. I have boys and my schedule is sometimes out of hand. They are fabulous and always do a great job. I use their drop off service often. Really are fantastic!

Plus: Clean, friendly laudromat.
Minus: Small, a little claustrophobic.
Other: I haven’t tried dropping off my laundry. I always wash, dry, and fold my own clothes.

Save yourself the hassle and look no farther than Wishy Wash. I drag my roomie around the beltway here because its the only place i’ve found in the nearby dmv that doesn’t sketch me out walking in. Always bright and clean, the attendants are super helpful and friendly. Although I’ve never used the delivery or drop-​off service, I can tell you Wishy Wash will treat your clothing with care, because they are washing your laundry as I was mine. The price is right, and this is definitely the place to get a lof of laundry done in a hurry. I’ve met the owner, and you can tell this guy cares, and treats his employees well.

Great machines: stuff comes out of the washer clean, and out the of dryer dry. Friendly staff, prompt service in English and Spanish. Clean!

I come here mainly for my dry-​cleaning and single-​item wash/​iron jobs. Great service, always friendly. Cheap, and most importantly good at what they do. One star off for the bad parking situation and inability to fix torn buttons etc. (or at least quote me a decent price for that). Still, the best I’ve found in a ~5 mile radius so far!

This is awesome! I travel a lot and the laundry was piling up. I did a little search and voila! I came across Wishy Wash. I dropped off Saturday afternoon, received Tuesday afternoon. Everything was tightly folded and smelled amazing!
I’m going to estimate about $ 8-​$ 10 per load… but I had a lot of towels. Great place, I’ll be back!

I was standing at the counter at Wishy Wash this past Sunday, being told that my drop-​off laundry had not even been started, despite the fact that it was three hours after I had been told it would be ready. I went out of my way to go to this place because it was highly reviewed here, but now, my threads weren’t even in the tank, and the lady at the counter said, «We’re going to start it soon. Can you come back later?»
Well, I guess I have to, don’t I? After all, You have about 80% of all the clothes I really give a crap about in your possession.
Having written a fair share of reviews here, my first thought was «I’m going to Unilocal these mother****ers back to the Stone Age». But cooler heads prevailed, and I went back home, drew on the memories of my many errors in life, enveloped myself in a mentality of forgiveness, reminded myself that only a whiny little wench complains about their laundry service, and then returned a couple days later to collect my clean clothes.
After I get there and give the lady at the counter my name, she starts flipping through a stack of like 50 tickets; she found mine 2^nd from the bottom. Funny, after screwing up my laundry the first time, I was envisioning my ticket at the top with a note that said «TOP PRIORITY» on it. Yeah, not so much. Then after searching for my laundry for several minutes, they eventually found it «in the back».
Now I have to admit, the quality of the work was outstanding, which is why I’m giving them 3 stars. Everything was splendiferously scented, baby’s-ass soft, and meticulously folded to the point where nothing really needed to be ironed, not even my dress shirts. I don’t know how they do that, but damn. Daddy likes.
As a veteran of several different customer service-​type jobs, I have a few pieces of advice for the owners/​managers of this establishment.
1) You seem to be doing a brisk business. BUY A COMPUTER! That way you don’t have to rely on tickets and ledger books and such.
Seriously, this place does not use a computer; they write their orders in a book, and cross them off when they are picked up. The tickets are all hand written and put in a stack. If, at any one stage, someone forgets to do something, or misplaces something, or forgets to write something down, the whole system is thrown in to chaos. It’s not the 70’s anymore, folks. With today’s prices, a desktop unit and invoicing software wouldn’t even set you back 1 day’s profits.
2) Call your customers when you won’t be able to complete their laundry on time. Again, a computer would help keep customer info and set reminders.
3) Apologize when you screw up.

When my dryer decided to unexpectedly depart this world — when I had two weeks of little kid laundry piled up, no less — I was desperate and found Wishy Wash on Unilocal.Holy cow — I’m trying to finagle our budget so we can do this more regularly.
Although the parking situation isn’t ideal, I visited Wishy Wash on both a Saturday and Sunday and only had to wait a moment both times to find a spot. The staff was friendly — I was in and out in a jiffy — and my 41.5 pounds of clothes were beautifully folded and packaged. They used hypoallergenic detergents and softeners when I requestd. AND THEY SORTED & PAIRED THE SOCKS. I almost fell over just at that.
They were easy to miss (and in an odd spot to get back to if you do miss them) so keep an eye out and enjoy!

This place is a lifesaver. One of the only decent fluff and fold places in Montgomery County. It helps if you do some sorting ahead of time, and don’t accidentally send along your delicates! They don’t scrutinize every laundry instruction tag…

Let me get this…
I send you a bunch of my stuff. You wash it for me, I get it back, I don’t lift a finger, you fold it like a perfect box, WAY better than I could ever do it…
Compressed, neatly presented, one dollar per pound… smelling great.
I couldn’t even do this myself, this place is awesome (but a little bit of a luxury).

It was my first time at a Laundromat but the staff there was very friendly and helpful. They have about 3 sizes of washers– small, medium, and HUGE, and there are a few parking spots in the back. I noticed it’s not in the best neighborhood, but it didn’t bother me.

My schedule is sometimes such that I can’t get laundry done within the normal business operating hours of laundromats, i.e. 7 am to 10 pm or so.
Trying to find a 24 hour laundromat in the metro Washington, DC area is like «finding hen’s teeth». They apparently, can’t be found, so, I have to go with Plan B.
I contacted Wishy Washy that is about fifteen miles away from me about their hours. Rick, the owner, got back to me right away as opposed to some other laundromats that can’t be bothered to contact you with answers.
He said that the last laundry must go in the washing machines by 9:30 PM.
So, thanks to the speedy reply of Rick, I will go to Wishy Washy Laundromat in Silver Spring, Maryland.

I am partial to businesses that have websites. Surprisingly enough, Wishy Wash’s website is actually comprehensive… for a laundromat.
I hate doing laundry. It’s rated number three on the list of chores I hate to do, after 1: cleaning the cat litter box, and 2. doing dishes. (Fortunately for me, my dishwasher is energy independent but likes to runs on pizza and Turkey Hill iced tea.) I procrastinated for about two weeks, but when Halpert started keeping over 3 feet of distance from the laundry pile, that’s when I knew it had to be done. I trust my cat’s olfactory glands.
Wishy Wash is in Langley Park, next to Samantha’s Restaurant on University Blvd. There is a parking lot behind the laundromat, but it’s easy to miss and (on Sunday night) it’s packed. We had to park illegal (ish) in the parking lot of an auto repair shop next door.
I should’ve known better than to do laundry on a Sunday night. Wishy Wash was mad busy. There were many Hispanic families doing loads upon loads of laundry. Wishy Wash provides Spanish newspapers and a tiny television tuned to Telemundo. I felt slightly out of place, but whatever.
I knew that Wishy Wash offers refillable money cards. It’s $ 3 for the card itself, and cash is needed to add value. It’s like Smartrip for a laundromat! This turned out to be very, very convenient. No one likes to carry quarters or purchase tokens for laundry machines. If funds are running low on the card, just go back to the card machines and add cash. Voila! To start a washer or dryer, I had to simply put in my clothes, and insert my Wishy Wash card. It deducts value automatically.
While the Wishy Wash card is not a technological breakthrough, it is SO convenient!
I managed to stuff over 15 lbs of darks into one laundry machine. Money saver! I noticed that the water wasn’t sudsing up, but that’s because the detergent injection was clogged due to age and use. The dryers took over half an hour to semi dry our clothes, but that’s because we put over 25 lbs worth of clothes into one dryer. Next time I need to stop being cheap and divide the clothes into two dryers for faster drying time.
There were chairs, but they were a rare commodity last night. I couldn’t call dibs on a chair. If I had to check on my laundry, someone else would take it. (I recommend bringing portable tailgating chairs. Maybe.) I sat across the ice cream menu display. That’s the worst place to sit, because cheap, tasteless ice cream becomes so desirable after staring at their fake images for a while. The folding tables were unavailable, but Curtis and I managed to fold our clothes without them.
Doing laundry is an exhausting experience if you don’t have machines of your own. While I don’t guarantee a stress-​free experience at Wishy Wash (on a Sunday night at least), the employees are helpful, the machines work, and you have that freakin’ awesome Wishy Wash card.
PS: They offer wash and fold services for 95 cents a pound. After my terrible experience with Spring Family Laundromat, I don’t think I’ll take advantage of it. I’d like to say that I don’t have time to do laundry myself, but I do. Phooie.
