Pets n Poets offers experienced, loving, professional and focused pet sitting, dog walking, kitty care, medication administration, hospice care and training, benefiting homeless animals. Our staff is comprised of local artists and pet care professionals, our Poets, who have a passion for and experience with rescue animals. We work with all animals, but our true speciality is caring for rescued animals, giving them the tender, unique and patient love and handling they need. Our highly trained staff is 100% focused on you and your pet; we never divert our attention by chatting on cell phones while walking or caring for your special friend.

Pets n Poets is a benefit corporation giving a percentage of profits to Washington Animal Rescue League, WARL. We also produce music concerts and performance events giving 100% of tickets sales to our rescue effort at WARL. Our 2012 summer concert, performed at Takoma Park Community Center Auditorium generated $ 1300 to present to WARL.

Business Owner

Susan Faucon has two loves in her life, Animals and the Arts, Pets n Poets allows her to blend these passions for the greater good of animals in need. She has been involved in Animal Welfare for most of her adult life. Her heart yearns to help the neglected, abused and forgotten animals of our community, to give them a voice in a world that imposes silence on that which it chooses not to see. It is her life’s purpose to rescue, rehabilitate and place one beloved creature at a time.

Susan has been caring for companion animals since 1999, offering dog walking, pet sitting, medication administration and hospice services. She was simultaneously in the music industry composing, writing, producing and performing concerts and theatre pieces. In October of last year, after the loss of her 15.5 year old Labrador, Rossi Roodle, she was inspired to blend her two professions for the better good of homeless animals. Pets n Poets is the result of the powerful love between girl and Lab.
