Established in 1963.
Originally started by Lou Gurewitz, his sister Rose and her husband Mike. Mike and Rose ran it until Lou’s son, Stuart came in 1974. Stuart ran and built up the business until 2005 when he retired. In his 31 years here, Stuart created the legendary landmark known to most Washingtonians as the best Deli in the area and the place to go for Matzoh Ball Soup, Bagels & Lox & Reubens. He left his 2 sons Danny and Gary in charge who are carrying on the tradition…
