NJ Electrical Service

I needed to add a dedicated quad outlet behind my entertainment system. I called the electrician who attends my church but he wasn’t easily available. Then I called another electrician who I used before to install my flood light and he was heading out of town.
Finally, I remembered seeing a NJ electric truck in my neighborhood so I called them. The owner, Richard, answered my call and I quickly explained my need and he gave me an immediate quote and we scheduled the service. Two days later, one of his electricians arrive, on time, installed the wire, quad and breaker which they supplied.
The electrician, Wilmer, was professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. He went to work in a workmanlike fashion and completed the task in short order. He also cleaned up the work area and had respect for my home by taking off his work boots at the front door.
This is a great company which I highly recommend.

Called me back after I submitted an online request. They were unclear on the phone and after I sent them photos of the ceiling fan issue I was having, they never called me back or followed up with me.
Unpleasant experience.

The service was great. We needed to hang a pot rack that was heavy. They took their time and did a great job. They also moved an outlet for me and moved the coax and didn’t even charge me for it. I felt like I was under charged. They squeezed me into their schedule and made it work. Richard was very personable. I will be calling him back very soon to hang other lights we buy. It’s great to know a really quality electrician.

The wires of our ceiling fan started burning last night. NJ was able to send out their electrician, Wilmer, who was awesome. I don’t typically write reviews, but felt compelled to do so. Wilmer was very easy to work with and a professional! No mess was left behind. The price was reasonable considering it was a last minute request on Christmas eve. Thank you for the great service!

After reading all the great reviews Unilocalers have given NJ, I gave them a call for a few basic jobs I needed done: replace an existing recessed light with a ceiling fan, and fix two other issues that we just couldn’t figure out on our own. Bottom line is everything was done on time and on budget. Call NJ for your electrical needs. They deliver as the other reviews promise!
Specifically, although the ceiling fan install required a follow-​up visit to get right, Wilbur and the owner, Richard (and another of Richard’s employees whose name I didn’t get) arrived when they said they would, did what they promised to do, and were exceedingly polite and professional. Although Wilbur didn’t need additional help finalizing my job, Richard showed up anyway – even though he was on crutches! – to make sure everything was working as it should and we were happy. I am all too happy to have my fellow Unilocalers to rely on and equally pleased to recommend them to you, dear reader.

Richard was communicative by text, came exactly to my DC condo precisely when he said he would, worked very quickly, charged exactly what he quoted, and even identified problems made by another electrician. I would definitely call him again and will be passing his information to my friends and neighbors.

They just came to my place for a damage done by an electrical storm. They fixed the problems quickly. I am very pleased with the services.

Richard did amazing work on a tripped circuit in our kitchen. We’ve learned that there are some electricians who don’t patch holes left behind, thankfully richard isnt one of those electricians. Fair price and the circuit was fixed very quickly. NJ electrical is definitely my go to electrical service.

I had them install ceiling fans in my new house. Some were prewired and some required running a new wire in the attic. They did a great job. I thought they were thorough, clean (used a drop cloth, didn’t leave a mess), and friendly.

They helped me install a ceiling fan with light to my guest bedroom. That room had no powerbox on the ceiling so power needed to be transferred from one of the switches.
I found this company from the good reviews on Unilocal and called them. I usually get different quotas from various companies and negotiate before hiring but this this time it went pretty smoothly. They had a Unilocal deal which I used. Richard is not the most communicative man, we fixed the date and time on the phone and he asked me to email him the address. He did not email me back for confirmation but his electricians were prompt on the site at the agreed date and time. Whole work took 90 minutes and involved some inevitable cuts through the drywall but they did a very clean and nice job. They even gave me further discount on what we agreed on.
He is a reliable man and the company does decent jobs. I will have no hesitation asking their help if need be…

I paid for upgraded power to 200 amps with permits and inspection, new panel boxes and fuses
They left many exposed, live wires on the outside for 4 months
They hooked a 200 amp box into my old existing 100 amp service and taped the expose, live wires together outside for 4 months
They never followed up with the power company to hook up their work
They left a huge, incomplete fire hazard for 4 months and never followed up to make sure the job was completed
It has been 4 months and they were paid in full that day. Not waiting for the fire hazard to be taken care of before I paid him was a big mistake on my part

We’ve used Richard and his team several times now to fix various electrical issues around the house. He removed some shitty old lighting, replaced it with newer awesomer lights, put in dimmers, etc. He’s always been able to fit us into his schedule promptly, he arrives on time, and his prices are always reasonable. And they do great work. What more could you ask for?

I was impressed by the reviews on Unilocal so I decided to give these guys a call. The gentleman I spoke with was very informative and decided to come out and take a look at our super old 1962 Push’O Matic panel. The day he was suppose to come out he was a no show no call. No worries. I called to see what happened and he apologized and said he promised to come the next day. No worries, things happen. Surely he won’t do this again! Ha! Next day, no call no show. Gave them two stars because although they were nice, they seemed too busy to want my business.

Arrived on time, job completed in a reasonable time period– took slightly longer (15 – 20 minutes) than estimated. We paid the price he quoted in his estimate. Richard and his employee were polite and professional in their interactions.

Richard came out on a Sunday at 11am — one of the coldest Sunday mornings we’ve had — after our furnace stopped working Saturday night. It was obvious that it was an electrical issue and not a furnace issue because the lights in the furnace room also would come on and the circuit hadn’t been tripped.
Within five minutes he had diagnosed the problem and even though it was $ 125 for first half an hour/​diagnosis period, the total bill was only $ 179 and that included parts that he had in his truck.
Excellent work, would recommend to anyone, especially if you have weekend/​emergency work needed.

Richard and his team are solid pros and excellent problem solvers. They came to install five cable drops and three new outlets. Despite some obstacles, they found solutions to all of our requests that did not include visible wires or cables. Even though the job took several hours more than estimated, the crew remained pleasant and professional.
I would use Richard and his team for all my electrical needs.

Only one issue: I found it hard to understand Richard on the phone. He graciously answered my call while on a job and agreed to come that afternoon, but I found his soft-​spoken manner challenging to hear /​understand on the mobile phone.
My neighbor, who hired NJ Electrical also and was thrilled with the service, said the same thing about talking on the phone. ;)
So, it’s not a knock, just a point of interest.

Thanks to other Unilocal reviewers, we found this WONDERFUL electrician.
Richard and his assistant had done two jobs for us. We are extremely happy with his work and price. The first job was pretty standard, his estimate was way below what others have quoted. They were on time, in and out in less than 1.5 hours.
The second job was what earned him this 5++++++++ star review. I had them come out to install 3 crystal chandeliers — and let me be the one to say — the chandeliers were PAIN IN THE A$$ to put up. Richard had budgeted 2 hours to complete the work, however, he only managed to get 1 up during that time. Since he did not want to cancel other appointments. He promised to return after other jobs to finish mine. They came back at 4pm that same day, and worked until 10pm to finally complete the job. Richard did not complain or ask for more money… I felt so bad for the guys, so i bought them dinner and gave a huge tip.
I would definitely use them again!!!

I am so thankful for Unilocal.Had it not been for this site, I never would have found this great electrician. Picking which company to use is not an easy task, just like hiring a plumber or finding a mechanic that won’t rip you off.
Enter NJ Electrical Service. The owner, Richard stopped by last week to give me a free estimate on installing a dedicated outlet for my soon to arrive washer/​dryer that requires 240 voltage. Three of my condo neighbors had it done, and I was not looking forward to this very costly added expense. To my delighted surprise, Richard’s quote was far less than I had expected, and it included patching the holes in the ceiling that would be required.
I was able to get an appointment quickly thereafter. I can’t say enough good things about the two associates that came to do the job. They were courteous and efficient. They also cleaned up (vacuumed the areas) promptly. Richard arrived about 45 minutes later to add the switch to my fuse box. All in all, the job took about three hours.
I can’t wait for my new washer/​dryer to arrive tomorrow. I’m dying to get rid of my mountain of dirty clothes. Thanks to NJ ES, I can. I will definitely be reccomending this local company to all my friends and neighbors.
