Nichiren Shoshu Myosenji Buddhist Temple located just outside of Washington D.C. in Silver Spring, Maryland. History
Established in 1972.
Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism was established in 1253 when Nichiren Daishonin first chanted Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. Myosenji Temple was first opened in 1972 in the Washington, D.C. area. It is one of six Nichiren Shoshu Temples in the United States.
The Temple covers a wide region of Mid-Atlantic and Southeast states of U.S.: District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Some of our members serve overseas.
