History

Established in 2014.

The Early Days…

A long time ago, there was a little boy named Jimmy fascinated by the way things worked. He took apart and fixed a neighbor lady’s vacuum when he was 5 years old. His daddy taught him how to use small tools the right way, be safety-​minded and think like a mechanical engineer. A few years later, Jimmy took shop classes in middle school where he learned how to handle bigger tools and make stuff.

Recent Times…

When all grown up, Jim started becoming friends with the staff at the local Home Depot, bought lots of tools and visited his friends there often. He went on to whittle away at his wife’s «honey-​do» list and make household repairs for friends and family. He remodeled a bathroom, then designed and built a hurricane-​proof garden shed. When he wasn’t fixing stuff and playing with his kids, he sometimes spent too much time watching DIYNetwork and HGTV. After a little persuasion from people close to him, Man of Handy was born.

Business Owner

A longtime repair, handyman and general fix-​it hobbyist, Jim is a pushover for new gadgets. Occasionally, his wife catches him shopping for tools he doesn’t even need. Jim has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland that is not regularly used in this role. He’s a man of integrity and innovative solutions with an eye for design.
