I have been taking my cars to M&D for as long as I’ve lived in Silver Spring, about 15 years. I have gone yo them for repairs big and small, from when my car got side-​swept when parked and totally smashed, to the many many bumper repairs and replacements on my minivan. Living in this area it’s easy to get banged up, and I don’t want my insurance rates to increase, so I pay out of pocket.
I have checked and compared prices at many other places but none compare to this place. So on the price alone, I would choose M&D because I have saved at least 60% and more. Get estimates and you will see that this is not an exaggeration.
Apart from the reasonable and affordable cost, what keeps me coming back is the reliably good work– outstanding! I have never been unsatisfied with a job they’ve done on my cars, and remember, I have had many, probably a dozen. The car is ready when they promise, and working with Carlos is a pleasure. He explains costs well, never deviates from the estimate, and is totally trustworthy. (I don’t know why anyone would say otherwise; disgruntled reviewer’s report totally does not ring true to me.)

Very pleased with the service. Best price around for repairing a damaged front corner of our car. Extremely happy with the owner’s helpfulness. We have a very old Mazda Protégé that runs very well and have no intentions of getting rid of it anytime soon. I plan to bring the car in to have minor rust spots made like new.

Very Bad place I don’t recommend for no one there, they don’t even honor their promise, crappy job they do. Specially the owner Matias is very crock person, his customer service is very very bad. I don’t recommend for no one. And the price is really highway robbery.

I have nothing but good things to say about Carlos, the manager — a hardworking, honest immigrant who does NOT rip you off unlike so many other better known chains and more pretentious body shops. Agreed, I never wanted super-​high quality work, but I have got work done by him on my cars about ⁴⁄₅ times over many many years since 1999 (and have noticed him age!!), and the quality has been more than adequate for my needs. My last body work from him was in 2011 — my insurance assessed the cost of repair to be $ 1700 (at a different body shop who would have charged me exactly that much) but paid me only $ 700 after the $ 1000 deductible — but guess what — Carlos happened to charge me exactly $ 700 (and I did not tell him anything about how much I got paid or how much my deductible was or how much the assessed value of the repair was). I could never tell that there was any repainting /​dent removal done to that area of my car, but I happened to take my car to Carmax today for their used car appraisal offer — and they could tell that there was some repair work done there — but they are pros and like I said before, I could never tell and I think most regular folks would never be able to tell — which is all I need for my body work — especially when the prices are so great! My only worry is — now that Carlos is getting on in years, who would I turn to when he retires? I admit that there are probably many other places like his — but wish somebody would let me know about all these places — especially after I moved to Woodbridge, VA from DC several years back because M & D Auto Body in Silver Spring is quite far from here.

My experience here was mixed. The most important thing is that they fixed my car for a reasonable price, and it looks good now. BUT no one called to tell me when my car was done– I called after 2 days to follow up, and was told that it was finished. I would’ve liked to know that it was done. Also, they don’t take credit cards, but that’s not posted anywhere, and they don’t tell you in advance. When he told me the car was done, he asked how I’d be paying, and only when I said «credit card» did he tell me that they don’t take cards, only insurance checks, money orders, or cash. The car is fixed and I didn’t have to pay a huge amount for it, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Ask for Carlos, and put your car into his hands. He and Matias (shop owner) will take care of the rest.
There’s not much more you could ask for from a body shop. Honest, fair, high quality work. What more do you want?

Do your self a favor please don’t do buisness with that old man or his company he is a fraud he ripped me of for $ 1600 with a shitty job, moreover they should learn to restpect their customers, I was telling him that the job was not done way he promised, He was agreing with me till I give him the money & once hetook my money he started to get more arrogant im going to hire a lawyer to sue him & that place
So Please ! If you belive you deserve something better take your buisness to somewhere else not here.

I am so pleased with the work done on my 2012 Honda.
I selected M&D because it has good ratings on checkbook and they gave me a lower estimate than three other highly rated shops, including one down the street. At first, I was a little apprehensive because the estimate was low and because it was scrawled in a few lines on the back of a business card. But later I read the Unilocal review below that said M&D’s word is their bond, and that they do good work.
When I brought the car in, Carlos (the shop manager) told me that one of the parts was going to cost him $ 500 which he clearly hadn’t realized when he quoted me initially, but he stuck by his $ 800 quote. He told me that they generally stick by the quote except when they get into a job and discover something they couldn’t have originally anticipated, and then they call the car owner to discuss.
The work was of the highest quality, and I don’t see how anyone could have done it any better.
If I have a need for body work in the future, I will be back, and I plan on recommending it to others.

I don’t really recommend fixing your car at this location. Last week I drop my car this place to get estimate (estimate is free everywhere) and M&D Body shop estimate my car and it was littler higher than what I expected (they use-​to be reasonable but not anymore) … finally I decided to take my car without repairing the body damaged and they decided to charge me $ 150, when I ask why they just came up with storage fee. They were just mad I didn’t fix my car there and I had to call police and so on. I will tell you again don’t go there. Just find other place to fix your car.

I have brought my car here a number of times for painting and dent removal. Their prices are so low I don’t understand how they make any profit. They are always less than half of the other estimates I get.
They seem to know their stuff and will not over fix the problem. Meaning they will blend the paint over the repair rather than completely paint the whole panel. That saves time and my money. Plus their work seems good!
I also like how their word is thier bond… if they quote you a price they stick by it even if it is not on a formal estimation sheet. I have also brought my car in for touchups for no charge.
