King Dental, LLC

Let me start off by saying that, although I’ve given this two stars instead of one, I won’t be going back. I only gave it two stars because everything appeared sanitary and everyone there was friendly and polite, so I don’t want to totally write this place off. The waiting area is tiny, and the blaring TV with the same movie («The Cleaner.» Seriously) playing on repeat, plus the Christmas music playing concurrently makes it a jarring, rather than relaxing space to be in, which, I assume, is not a plus for those who are nervous about going to the dentist. The parking lot is overpriced and street parking would have been a challenge to find; had it not been pouring rain, I probably would have taken my chances trying to find street parking.
I want to believe that the dentist has his patients’ best interests at heart, but when he makes jokes about not remembering patients’ information with a coworker while has his fingers in my mouth (on a first visit, no less, before I have any sense of his personality), it does little to inspire my confidence. At least I didn’t get talked down to like I have elsewhere. No goody bag with toothbrush, etc., either. I always like getting those.
The cleaning was rushed, heavy handed, messy – I guess I don’t need to wash my face tonight, since the water pick sprayed everywhere – and worst of all, more painful than any other I can remember. (It wasn’t horrible on a grand scale, but it wasn’t comfortable, either.) The main room has two old chairs in it, with no sight-​line divider. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m really uncomfortable with being on display like that, and with being able to see someone else laid out in a similar situation. I want a little privacy. The equipment and space were mostly old-​fashioned. I also felt like the dentist was trying to sell me on cosmetic dentistry that I can’t afford after I made it clear that I cannot afford it.
Not a place I’d recommend or one I’d revisit.
