H&M

this is my first time to write a review.
I always get disappointed on the customer service at H&M that located at downtown silver spring but i always let it go bc i feel like i understand where that come from. if I need to buy something I go far just not to be at that store. but Saturday I wanted to buy something and was already 8pm so the only option I had was to buy it from H&M. i went there bought some clothes and underwears. went home, when I remove the tag it was torn 2 places and it was so small for my size. the next day as soon as I Can went to the store to return it… I didn’t knew they have no return policy on underwears, the casher would explan that to me in a right way and make me understand it… the way she handle was sooo unbelievable she even suggest to donated to some place when i told her its alread been damged… i been in customer service so i let go us usual but i have no word for her i wasn’t even hard on her… she doesn’t know how to talk to a customer at all… any ways I ended up mad and with torn underwears… question though, is it really fair to spend $ 10 on damaged products that u can’t wear and been told to donate it to something from the casher? ???

The worst retail experience. What a poorly run shop. Lines snake through the building waiting for the single, open register, while a half dozen employees listlessly, haphazardly slide clothes around on racks.

My husband and I love to go here since they are the biggest one in the area. There is one closer to our house like literally 5mins away from us. But we always go here to shop. We don’t mind traveling like 25mins and we always have the best experience. This time we had the worst customer service ever. This guy name Phillys or Philip something like that. He was so rude and disrespectful. We had like 7 items to buy in my hand. I also have something to exchange. I greeted him and ask if I could exchange the one I was holding in the bag. This rude guy said like maybe «I don’t know what is in the bag» w/​an attitude. Is that the respond you suppose to give to your customer? I was holding 7 items in my hand of course I was going to give him what I wanted to exchange. The respond that he suppose to give could be «Sure Can I see it» or «Ok» Lets see what’s the item. I don’t know if he was trying to be sarcastic or having a bad day so he was having an attitude or he is just simply arrogant. This kind of people shouldn’t be doing retail or customer service. I hope the management should do something w/​this kind of people in their business.

Since when did H&M turn into a crappy TJMaxx. Clothes strewn everywhere, half of them already ripped, and entire aisle that look like someone just got the laundry out the dryer, but instead of folding it, just grabbed two armfuls full and chucked it all in the air. Haven’t shopped at an H&M in years because I’ve been less than impressed with the quality as time has gone on, but figured I would just give it a go this time since I only needed a tshirt. Never again if this is indicative of what the chain has become. Nope. Never ever.

Went in yesterday to buy a blouse, the cashier was extremely rude and had a horrible attitude at checkout. He kept mumbling under his breath and when challenged about what he said, refused to answer. I asked for the manager and unfortunately, he was the manager. Derek should be fired immediately. Will never go back in.

Yesterday was the fourth time I’ve visited the store and the last.
Each and every visit it takes way too much time to check out.
The staff seems to be working hard but it shouldn’t take me 20+ minutes to check out. And yesterday it did just that — same as the other times. The first two times were during Christmas season so I thought that was reason but it seems to be a chronic problem.
We won’t be returning.

I’m standing in line with (no lie) at least 30 other people. I feel for us all. This location is the absolute worst at customer service and that’s saying something for H&M. 2 people on registers and they’d rather chit chat than keep moving. Wait! Now we’re down to 1 person. I may die here, amidst the discarded piles of clothing that has either fallen or been thrown on the floor. What a mess.

We went to H&M today because I saw this adorable dress in the window. My husband agreed immediately and we went in to make a purchase. The store was full of people, the doors unlocked, and others followed us in. Apparently though, they were closed. A fact they did’t feel like sharing with anyone in the store. I went to try on the 2 dresses I liked (because they multiplied when I got into the store) and was told then that the store was closed. There were plenty of people trying on clothes, a full line at checkout, and the girl let other people into the dressing room. Just not me. I’m not sure exactly what made the store closed to me and no one else, but apparently my money is not necessary. I have worked retail. In fact I worked retail in 5 stores and managed one of them. I struggle to understand why my money is not special enough in this shop.

The store is conveniently located in downtown Silver Spring. The store is large and spacious. The kids and men’s sections were neat and tidy. The women’s clothing and accessory sections lacked attention. Much of the jewelry was overpriced. Forever 21 has cheaper costume jewelry. There were T-​shirts (2 for $ 10) that looked like they would last more than just one washing. I wasn’t offered any help until I was leaving the store. If you are a tiny twig, there were some good bargains.

I came at 845pm to get a gift card… security at the door stated that she was not allowed to let anyone else in. They are not about customer service. Why close a store 15min early… So you can hurry home?! Don’t work in retail if u wanna rush customers out… I did not wanna shop… just needed a gift card. That’s All… I’m very upset… I even asked a customer inside to get it with my credit card but security wouldn’t allow that… Ridiculous.

Just like any other H&M this store is a hot mess. Even on a weekday mornings, it’s as crappy as a weekend.
Textures are put close together to maximize putting out merchandise to limit mobility of strollers which is so inconvenient for us to shop there without getting frustrated and run into things every 10 seconds.
Cashiers are not friendly at all. They don’t smile and/​or greet customers upon coming up to the register.
In addition, there is an entrance to the fitting room via men’s section. I was with my stroller and waiting there to be entered as there we nobody else in line. But this male, African American, big bun associate told me to move as I was blocking the entrance? Excuse me? Where am I supposed to stand with a big jogging stroller? I thought that was so rude. And I left my merchandise and walked out and not been back there since then.

I love this h&m. I wanted to buy everything! They had a big selection. Everything was organized. Plenty of sizes. I want to go back but I must save my money!!!

This one is OK. The one by Metro Center consistently has a larger selection. The service here is hit-​or-​miss; I was looking for someone to help me find a size the other day, and everyone seemed confused as to what they should do to help me. However, there was an extremely helpful cashier (short, blondish hair) who answered my questions about a stained blazer (someone’s makeup rubbed off, I assume). All in all, OK experience.

Good selection. Clean store. Nice employees. Courteous cashiers and great location. Went in for shorts, spent $ 200. *shrugs* PARTY ON!

I love this H and M! It’s so hip and urban. I feel like I’m in NY or Europe because if the diversity this store has (customers and staff) you don’t get the snotty was like in the malls and there’s a huge selection. The quality if the clothing is not A+ but the prices are super, super low! I got 2 skirts, 2 tops and sunglasses for $ 80!

I can’t believe I’m giving H&M 5 stars. Friendly staff who don’t mind going the extra mile to help this BBW find some nice clothes. They had a selection that 16s and some 18s women could wear. Trust me, I was impressed with my purchases. I got three items under $ 40. Another thing that I would like to mention is they have a massive selection in this location. Considering I’ve only got the Baltimore and Georgetown location to compare them to. I’d say this location was cleaner and more organized than the others.

The new H&M in downtown Silver Spring. Great addition to a shopping center that could use more fun places to shop.
With the one just up the road at Wheaton Mall, perhaps a bit redundant? I hope both can survive and thrive.

My first, kind of experience, with this store was not a good one. long story short alot of us (about 75 ppl) thought this store would be participating in the black friday sale at midnight… WRONG! so that was a fail buuuut i decided to come back and give it another shot.
When walking in i got excited because of the numerous sale signs hanging about and posted up so that’s always a good thing. One thing that threw me off were the security guards… they were having a conversation and when i walked by it got quiet and tense… no hello or good morning, so that was awkward lol. i had two options: either join in on the staring contest or just say hello to break the tension. i said «hi how are you?» and nothing… not even a smile cam from them so i was like «hmph okay then» BUT this really friendly associate came up and was nice to ask me if i needed any help and letting me know about other sales. Wish i would’ve gotten her name!
This store is pretty nice and a good size, though i didnt walk through the entire store i was pretty pleased with what i saw. Their cold winter section was a bit lack luster but it was after christmas so thats understandable. They also had a great selection of jeans for 19.95 when i was there.
Overall the store is nice, clean, and well stocked. Will be coming back very soon! and i’ll give an update review so those security guards better be friendlier this time around!

I can’t believe folks waited in a l o n g line for hours before the noon opening just for the mere chance to win a $ 300 gift certificate. Admission: I was almost one of those chumps… but had a change of heart. Actually, it was because I did the mental math and realized I wasn’t going to be one of the first 100. :}
Anyhow, I did go back hours later… I live nearby, had the morning off work, and wanted to see if it was worth the long anticipated wait. It’s huge! It is all shiny and new. The staff was shiny too. They had lots of BOGO items and some decently priced opening day specials. I am not a die hard fan of the clothing, but I love their accessories. One can never have enough scarves!
I did see a few cute dresses, but it was way too crowded for me to wait in line to try stuff on. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow. Timing is everything.
Edit: I did indeed come back two days later, and bought that $ 12.95 dress for a Unilocal event. Then of course I HAD to buy the 20 count silver bangle pack and red ring (BOGO is too tempting to pass up).
