Took me awhile to try this place out and I’m sorry it did. So far, I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Love the whole chicken dinner platter! Great for two and comes with three sides! I’ve never had to wait too long and the staff is really friendly. The food is pretty darn good in my opinion. The chicken is seasoned well and mine always has some crispy parts. The black rice and beans are really good and the plantains are great.

Absolutely the best chicken and Yuca fries. the rice and beans are good! Even the salad is delicious. I love good service, and that’s what you get in this small place. friendly, fast, and delicious. I haven’t been to other locations, but this one gets 5 stars. I’ve eaten there several times and would highly recommend it.

I have had Peruvian chicken numerous times and I must say that I was looking forward to eating here. I got chicken with two sides and a soda. I felt that the sides were over cooked and not very flavorful and the chicken wasn’t seasoned very much. I wasn’t very impressed with my experience. Perhaps it was an off day for this location because I have had Crisp & Juicy before at other locations and those times were great. I will be back again to see if it was truly just an off day. Thanks for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

If you want only a little bit of food for you money, this is the place to go. Went there today, got a small breast/wing, small salad and small French fries for almost $ 9. I guess their brand is to give the customer as little food as possible. I feel if you have a good product, why be skimpy with it. This customer won’t be going back there again.

Great seasoned, Peruvian chicken and yuca. The sauce is what brings me to this place, it’s so delicious, it’s practically drinkable! It gets quite busy in the evenings, but is a staple spot for the community!

This is definitely some of the best chicken in the DMV. It is consistent at all its locations and the potato salad and yuca are 2 of my favorite sides. Seating is very tight but the food is so good its tough not to eat there once a week. If you haven’t been YOUNEED to try the chicken!

Good place for peruvian chicken. I go there often since its close to where I live. The prices are comparable to other peruvian chicken places and the portions are good. Very efficient and friendly. I just wish they offered more side items.

Seating it HORRIBLE. It’s tight and the actual seating feels a little shaky. Don’t shift around too much or you may hit the floor. But the chicken is oh so good! Tender and juicy and full of flavor. The side salad is super basic but I’ve never had a bad one. I also like the yucca fries. Sometimes I change it up and get a salad. Again, nothing fancy, but always fresh and covered in delicious chicken. Definitely an easy and reasonably nutritious take out meal.

A solid 3 stars. The name and interior décor of this restaurant just scream«hole in the wall»(and, thus, is usually not the kind of place I frequent). But I’ve been here twice and have been generally pleased each time. Service is fast and friendly — which is always a plus. The food is decent and filling — and for a reasonable price. I get the ¼ or ½ chicken with two sides. The chicken is moist and generally flavorful. The rice and(black) beans are nothing to sneeze at, but trust me when I say that it’s the plaintains that steal the show — they are DELICIOUS! I wouldn’t go out of my way to make a special trip here, but if you’re in the downtown Silver Spring Area and want to eat a place that is NOT a national chain(think: Red Lobster, Panera, Chik-Fil-A, etc. a few blocks away), then I suggest trying this place out for a change of pace.

Meh. It’s not bad. It’s not out of this world. If you want chicken and don’t feel like making it for dinner, check it out. If you crave a rotisserie chicken for lunch, check it out. There is nothing that stands out about Crisp-N-Juicy but it passes the test for what it is.

The best chicken in Downtown Silver Spring. Is the best location for take out if you are tired and your family needs dinner. I love this chicken more than the one I make.

If you’ve never had Peruvian chicken, you need to stop reading right now and evaluate your entire life. It is a MUST! I don’t care where you get it from, just get it. Now that that’s been said, I will let you know that MY favorite Peruvian chicken spot is Crisp and Juicy. Hands down. Their chicken is exceptionally good! They have a rotisserie pit where they cook whole chickens and you can seriously smell the chickens cooking from miles away. I have no idea what seasoning they use on their chicken, but it is incredible! You know how sometimes only the skin of the chicken is flavored? Well, with C&J chicken, the meat is flavored all the way through. I think it’s the combo of the amazing seasoning and the wood they use in the pit. Whatever it is, it’s an amazing formula that I hope they never change. Not only is the chicken tasty, it is plump, juicy, and moist, yet(as the name suggests), the skin is crispy. It’s a small miracle! Their cole slaw is one of my favorite sides ever and if you ask them to cook the fries up fresh, those are also amazing. You can also get fried yuca and fried plantains, which are not common sides around here, so I always get some whenever I come in here. Here’s a little trick I learned. I came in to buy meals for my parents and myself. My mom had asked me to get three ¼ dark meat meals(which come with two sides). Well… each of those was $ 8. I noticed that the family meal(which includes one whole chicken plus three large sides) was $ 20. The issue is that people in my family only like dark meat, so getting a whole chicken means that someone is left eating the breast and while we’ll reluctantly do it, we’re all going to be fighting over that juicy leg/thigh. At any rate, I asked the guy ringing me up if he wouldn’t mind giving me the family meal, but making sure all the chicken was dark meat and he agreed. So I came out WAY ahead in the price department. He let me in on the little tip that as long as they have enough dark(or white) meat available, they’ll be willing to give you four pieces of one type of chicken in place of one of their whole chickens. Good to know! This is a fast food joint, so don’t expect tablecloths and ambiance. It’s just a basic looking place that serves excellent chicken. If you don’t like how it looks inside, just buy the chicken and take it somewhere else. Seriously… just buy the chicken. Also, they will try to talk you into paying for extra sauces. Their chicken is so good, the sauces aren’t even necessary. Skip that little«extra». You don’t need it.

I would like to give this place two and half stars but that’s not an option. I came in at about 8:30 on a Saturday night. Service was friendly. Pros: few dollars less than Nando’s. Easier parking. Fried plaintains. The chicken was a little meatier than Nando’s. Cons: very very casual with weak chairs. They also blatantly microwave my side dishes(microwave is right there on the counter). The mashed potatoes were obviously powdered. The portion of side was rather small(unless it’s in a single serve container and not in the styrofoam box with your chicken). The sauce(which I hate but my boyfriend loves) is very minimal and extras cost extra. Overall, unimpressed and not pleased with the side dishes. The chicken was like any other rotisserie chicken, the spicy sauce was just a confusing smash of flavors, but the real disappointment is the powdered bland, mealy, mush-mouth mashed«potatoes». Even though it’s a little less than Nando’s(but only by like 50cent) I would rather pay the extra for a nicer eat-in spot, beautiful cardboard to-go containers(yes that matters to me), walking distance from my apartment(albeit parking isn’t the best) and better chicken. All in all. Not impressed. And not very crisp or juicy.

These are probably one of the best chicken I’ve had in my life. I split a half chicken plus two sides with my husband and it was under $ 12(with a fountain drink). Can’t wait to come back when I’m in the DC area again.

Walking past the place, the sign said«Crisp & Juicy». I though that was a description of the food, not the name of the place. It got good reviews that are noted in the window and one plaque from Zagat’s inside. It’s well deserved. This place is fantastic ! Located in a strip mall across from NOAA and the Silver Spring Metro stop it can be easy to miss… because of that name and it’s small storefront that blends in with the rest of the stores. But it’s excellent. I got half a chicken with two sides: plantain and fried yucca. While I wasnt feeling like yucca that day, I could note it was good and the plantain alone was worth the trip. The chicken sure was crisp and juicy. Cooked thru and thru with a nice portion size given to me. It was the kind of meal that kept me smiling… and ordering some lime juice from the cooler. Hispanic music played in the background of the small dining area while you could glance the rotisserie chickens roasting in a charcoal-baked oven. I charged my phone and ate and enjoyed it so much… I came back again two days later! This time for a half-chicken with plantains and black beans and rice(’cause they were out of brown beans). They’ve made a new customer who will return again for sure. A well-deserved Five-Stars *****

Yes, please. I got the backed chicken breast, rice and beans, and plantain. Soo good. The chicken had just the right amount of crispy and juicy(I guess that is where the name comes from). The beans and rice were OK not great but good and the plantains were tasty. The wait was really long for take out but overall I was pretty happy with my food.

Just stopped here for dinner — Might be one of the best rotisserie chicken I’ve ever had. Seriously, it was amazing. I ordered a whole chicken for 11.75(not to eat all at once, btw. I wanted leftovers!) and it came with 4 super small sauces — two pale yellow, an orange(which tasted almost the same as the yellow — kind of a buttery taste with a slight spice), and a green(tasted like a spicy guacamole). I read previous Unilocal reviews before I stopped in, so I knew not to ask for extra sauce — definitely not worth 50 cents for a swallow sized container. I have no idea how the sides taste — all I ordered was the chicken, but they looked pretty good from what I saw. Minus a star for the wait time. I waited 25 – 30 minutes for carryout. Carryout is supposed to be quick, right? That might be the longest I’ve ever waited for carryout, but the food made up for it. Overall, good price, great chicken. I live within walking distance so I might be here more often than not. I was tired of going to Popeyes for chicken, but now I have a new spot! Mental Note: Call and order ahead next time.

I wasn’t really expecting to come to this place. But as I stumbled home from the bar I realized that I didnt have any food in my apartment and my friends convinced me it was a good idea. In addition, the delicious waft of deliciousness you smell as soon as you step off the Silver Spring metro — well that is their peruvian chicken. They have them roasted over coals behind the counter as soon as you walk in the door. Their chicken is solid. If you want a good moist chicken sandwich or ¼ chicken and a few sides, this place is the way to go. I ordered the Latino chicken breast — because I was trying to choose a healthier sandwich. I thought it was delicious but my friends were raving about the Gruyère sandwich. It looked great! In addition, there were a few bones in my sandwich since they just rip the chicken from a whole chicken for this. Beware of the bones, it can be unsuspecting. One thing I will say if the guy is going to ask you«Would you like some extra sauce with that? «. Who doesn’t want an extra sauce? So I say«Do I need extra sauce?» and he says«Well it cost an extra 50 cents». If you’re a heavy sauce person you might want to go for a little more than the container they give you, but mine worked for me just fine. Taste = 4 stars Bones in chicken and charging for extra sauce = minus one star Total = 3 star place that I would definitely try again.

I get chicken from here, as much as I can — usually with G. He enjoys fries — my sides vary from time to time. The fried yuca(extra crispy is amazing) the coleslaw was a bit too watery for my liking. We both agree — this is some of the best chicken this side of town … and beyond. The smell alone makes my mouth water and sometimes passes my nose making me crave this meal. Reasonably priced and usually quick. Always fresh and flavorful. And crispay and juicay. Koral and G
