This actually happened about 2 weeks ago, but I just made a Unilocal account to finally comment on my experience. When I visited it was during a 7 – 11 promotion during the month of December for their phone app where a purchase of a drink(Big Gulp, cup of coffee, etc.) gave you 2 stars toward a free drink(you showed your smartphone with a barcode and they scan it and it gives you stars). I got a large cup of coffee and paid first(this is an important detail). AFTER I presented my smartphone and he refused to scan my phone. He said in some broken English: «We’re done.» while giving me a little head shake. I didn’t quite hear him and he said it again and did a hand movement/shake like a refusal. Now there was quite a line behind me and I didn’t want to cause a scene so I decided to leave. But I won’t be coming back. I was appalled that the employee would refuse to scan my rewards app which, by the way, is part of the 7 – 11 company policy that ALL7 – 11’s have to follow. If you’re reading this the 3 stars is because my experience 2 weeks ago left a really bad taste in my mouth. But other than that this 7 – 11 is pretty clean, well-kept, and like another person mentioned they sell beer. In this county that is pretty rare. Unfortunately I still won’t be coming back.

No matter what time of day you come to this 7 – 11, the parking lot is usually pretty packed. However, the line inside moves fairly quickly, so it’s never an issue. They are always stocked with a variety of fresh and hot food items, which is great if you are looking for a quick snack or meal on the go. MmMm taquitos! Love the fact that they sell beer and wine here, even on Sundays. What I love even more is that they sell injera and an Ethiopian sauce/stew(forgot what it’s called, but it’s red) from a market in DC. Pretty cool, especially if you’d like to try making Ethiopian food at home. They are both tasty and the sauce is definitely good for making beef tibs!

Why would I give a 7-eleven 5 stars? Because they sell beer and wine. Until 1AM. And on Sundays. Sure in Virginia, all 7 Elevens sell beer and wine all the time. But in Montgomery County, this is like the diamond in the rough. When liquor stores are run by the county and beer stores close at 10pm and you need an extra case of beer for beer pong/flip cup/kings/(insert drinking game here), where do you go? To the Aspen Hill 7-Eleven of course! My work here is done.
