Ok. I should have asked about the name. This place was not at all what I was expecting, except perhaps in an esoteric roundabout way, I suppose. As I walked in, my first thought at the sight was«warehousey». The first thing I heard was the soft mumbling«woof» of the owner’s dog, which combined with the setting made me think this shop wasn’t open. Shortly thereafter, the owner greeted me, checked to be sure I was okay with dogs, and then explained she was in the middle of re-arranging the store. It all made sense then. Woven baskets, yarns and needles. That pretty much sums up what I found here. But it’s better than that. With woven baskets hand made in Ghana(fair trade); Yarns hand dyed in Washington state; Knitting needles, crochet hooks and pins(like hat pins, I guess) hand made right here in Siler City(Twin Birch by the owner and her husband, and some of their friends), this is the store to visit for unique products for knitting, crocheting, or uniquely dyed yarns. Next time I’ll ask about the name, I’m sure there’s an interesting story behind it.
