These guys did a fast and amazing job on my car. Within 4 – 5 hours they changed several items that needed to be replaced AND I still got My car before the end of the day. They explain everything, from every detail in your car to the pricing. They are VERY straightforward, the kind of people that wouldn’t pull every cent out if your bank. They want to help. I think I found my new go-​to shop for my every car needs.

Came here on a Sunday because most tire shops are closed. I noticed my rear passenger-​side tire was constantly losing air, so I took in and had them check it out. They identified a tiny nail was causing the air leak. They patched it up and didn’t charge me a dime. This place really looks out for their customers, terrific service. Shout out to Frank for the help!

Big Q has amazing service and is always there to help with all things auto repair. Love that these guys always explain in full detail and show me the work being done on my car. They are also great with payment options and can answer any questions you have.
No doubt that the company truly puts their customers first. I highly recommend this shop for anyone in the LongBeach/​Signal Hill area if you ever run into any car problems. Will be back for my next oil change!

First time customer who will be returning! I came in for an oil change and brake check. Jason, the tech who worked on my vehicle, walked me around my vehicle to show me the worn brakes and gave me options to choose from for service and repair.

HOLY CRAP AWESOME PEOPLE HERE!!! I will honestly not go another place to get stuff done. We needed 2 lug nuts broken off and the did it in less then an hour as well as replacing a leaking stem. They treated me not like a helpless woman but they talked to me like I had some sense. The best part are the prices. They are so worth it. Fixed everything we needed and did not leave me standing with nothing in my pocket. Herb took amazing care of us and Jason has reinstalled my faith in finding an honest mechanic.

I’m so happy that I came to this place to have my flat tire repaired. I called them in for an inquiry, Frank explained to me well and welcomed me over the phone. Many tire shops weren’t open or one of it didn’t understand English…
As soon as I got there, they welcomed me and started working to repair my tire right away. They did an excellent work and within 15 mins or so, I was on my way out.
They did great job, gave me an huge discount by me being the first time as well as Unilocal also.
This place is so recommended!!!

Just got my car fix today. Good thing! Rick accommodate and so helpful with my problem. Need to replace my radiator and something in my break seal which is leaking.(he saw this after the routine diagnostic) I know I spend a lot today. more than I expected but it comes with the safety. What I can tell about my experience today is no haggling with price he will help you by giving you Unilocal discount and if it’s your first time he will work through your budget as much as possible. Rick, frank and Herbert is so accommodating and friendly. I will let you know next time regarding the result of the new radiator and brakes. And if my thermostat is still working good since I just change it.(not sure if it’s broken after what happened) (crossed finger!!!)

I brought my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible here because something they fixed in the past is still not fixed, however they have cleared their computer of the records of my service there. I bought the car within the last year and a half and have been to Big Q’s for various repairs maybe 10ish times with varying results, each time they’re promising me it’s work that I can return to have looked at if something goes wrong, but obviously they don’t want to honor that work anymore, the only work they can find related to my oil change, and something else minor.
These guys are scam artists — car repairers beware! They do not honor their own warranties!
Update: Rick responded to my review, of course the things he doesn’t mention here is …
A) When I say «call me and tell me WHAT WORK you will do BEFORE you do it», I MEAN IT! No one in their right mind would pay for work without hearing the quote first, this is why they had to give something away, because they didn’t inform me before they installed it
B) All of the electrical work is still a problem; they’ve done nothing to help me really, and I’m having to seek getting the work done a second time, because Big Q’s never actually fixed it. I had brought my car in at least half a dozen times with a «won’t start» kind of problem, and each time promised that the problem was fixed, and still to this day the car will not start because of various electrical and starting systems issues.
C) The my work vs the dealerships work is about half, I paid for half of the work I had done, therefore I should see half of my work in the computer system, however there’s next to nothing.
My original thoughts on the matter stand. Furthermore you only prove my point, by telling people to ‘refuse to work on my car’ only verifies that you guys are lying to me about the existence of computer records, so therefore are not trustworthy in any way.

The staff is always nice with you and always explain what they did to your car. The place is nice as well. They are always willing to help you. They even give me a ride to get some money while the car is being repaired. Definitively recommended!

These guys were very helpful took a coyple of weeks for them to get me back on the road but they dud do a great job on my vic.

Needed to get my oil changed, and my check engine light was on. Without hesitation, I knew to go to Big Q.
Frank helped me out. Fast, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Do yourself a favor, the next time you’re having car troubles go to Big Q and ask for Frank. You won’t be disappointed.

First impression. It’s like my Dad’s oil shop. Someone working on a muscle car. His lunch sitting on top of the tool box. Up front the rep is heavily invested in his work on the computer. I let him know what I need and leave to grab a bite across the street at Taco Bell. After 40 minutes I come back and am waiting to cash out. He’s still on the computer. My car is parked out front done and ready to go. 20 minutes later I’m still waiting. I’m not coming back.

Different manager. I went in and didn’t see my usual manager. I believe his name was Ernest? Really miss the old manager. He’s friendly and welcoming. New manager was friendly but my «car» guy.
Fast oil change. Good walk through. Problems with my struts/​shock. Was quoted $ 1400. I didn’t get the work done because it’s my husband car. Found another place that quoted under $ 700. Overall I feel like this place has change a bit. But I will be back soon to give them another shot.

over the past three years I have taken my BMW and CLK 500 to the good folks at the Big Q. Trusted customer service and quality work… note that I drive my cars from Phoenix Arizona when I take my vacations and have my cars serviced at the Q. I need my cars to perform well at this 117 degree heat. Keep up the good work, thank you.

So the girlfriends car died, on a Saturday, and she had to get to work Monday morning in San Diego.
Rick and crew were excellent. We called and told them we would have it towed there Sunday morning. They started working on it right away, found the issue to be an electrical problem they were able to fix that same day and for around $ 100. Very nice to be able to go into a place and really feel like we are not getting taken advantage of.
We were afraid we would have to rent a car etc. I could not have asked for a better resolution to what could have been a nightmare scenario.

I am updating my rating due to two recent visits, one in November 2015 and one in late March 2016. I have visited Big Q even before this, and all past services were great. I originally gave 5 stars back in 2014. But after the two recent visits, I felt I needed to adjust my rating a bit.
This recent visit, I walked into Big Q with my car for an oil change and the basic look through to see if anything needed attention. At the reception desk, to the right was a sign advertising an upgraded package. For an additional $ 9.99, on top of the conventional oil change, they advertised a package that would include the use of a synthetic blended oil, top off all fluids, clean the front window, vacuum, a 52 point inspection, and tire rotations. I thought it was a good deal, and being lazy to vacuum, I went ahead and took the upgrade.
The wait was about an hour, which seemed reasonable. When my car was in the shop and the initial work had been completed, the technician pulled me over for a walk through. He recommended some work with my struts and shocks, alignment, plus a transmission and power steering flush. However, I noted to him that on my last visit four months prior, I did the power steering flush with them per their recommendation at that time. So I questioned why I would need one so soon. Upon re-​inspection, the technician said that it was clean enough and that I would be OK without one. So this kind of put a question mark in my head. Was the one they performed last time not needed? Not done? Done with bad quality? Or were they recommending services to my car that was not needed this time? Anyhow, the technician explained to me that cleaning out the transmission fluids might not get all the residue, and that’s why it seemed like I needed a second cleaning. Since I’m not a complete car guy, I took his word for it.
I turned down the other work for this visit since I wasn’t budgeting for the other repairs. So I went and paid for the oil change ($ 34.99) and the additional $ 9.99 for the upgraded package.
When I got in my car, I noticed that the car was not vacuumed, and the front windshield was just as dirty as when I brought the car in. Recall that this service was supposed to be included in the additional $ 9.99 upgrade! So I went back in and asked them if they performed the upgraded service. Those services were even printed on my receipt! The assured me they did use the synthetic blended oil. I didn’t really note my tires before I brought it in, so I don’t know if they really rotated it, but I’ll take their word that they did. They also mentioned that the package was outdated and they really should take that sign off their wall. The technician mentioned they are no longer vacuuming but did offer to wash my windshield. Both were very minor, and since I needed a car wash anyways, I just told them to forget about it.
But to be honest, if that package was indeed outdated, they should not display it on the wall. Or at the very minimum, note the services that were no longer included in the package upfront when I inquired about it. I walked out of the shop with some question marks in my head due to this and the power steering flush recommendation.
I would rate the combination of my last two visits a 2 star. I am giving a 3 star overall (would give 3.5 if half is an option) due to my visit in 2014 for which they did provide exceptional 5 star service.

We are not from the area but our daughter attends school in So Cal. My husband was looking for a shop he can trust to take care of her car needs when he’s not around and it looks like he found it at Big Q. This is the 2^nd time we’ve taken our daughter’s car here for service and, again, we are happy customers.
Initially, we came in to have her oil changed but it turned out her car needed a lot more. She has an older car so it was expected. They ended up replacing her radiator, gaskets & spark plugs. They also fixed her brake light.
Ezra and Rick are AWESOME! They were very honest about what needed to be done right now and what we could hold off on. They actually showed my husband what they were talking about and pointed out the troubling areas. They crunched numbers and found parts and were able to bundle everything and save us money. Because we were leaving the next morning, they worked on our daughter’s car right away and even waited for us until after the shop closed so we could pick it pick it the same day.
It takes A LOT to impress my husband so giving it 5 STARS says it all.

Based on the reviews here, I took my car in for new brakes and an oil change. Noon on a Saturday. They were busy, but quickly gave me a quote for the work. They are fair and honest and in the automobile world… that’s everything.
In addition to those attributes, they are friendly, polite, and welcoming. It’s like going to your friend’s house for a few hours while your car happens to get fixed.
I would 100% recommend this business.

I’ve had very positive experiences here… service is friendly and I just had my tire patched in less than 30 mins.
I had brakes replaced on my Audi S5 for hundreds less the dealer and just had my BMW M3 tire patched. I get nervous about letting people touch my cars but I feel comfortable when I come here.

This was literally the WORST experience I have EVER had at a mechanic shop! I am LIVID!!! They do NOT deserve the reviews they’ve received on this app!
I took my car in because it wouldn’t start. I was able to drive it there, and they told me everything would cost about $ 1300 to fix it — ok, well, it won’t start, guess I have to do it.
WRONG IDEA! They «fixed» my issue — and by «fix» I mean performed heinous amounts of irrelevant maintenance to the issue, kept stringing me along saying «It’ll be done soon. It’ll be done soon.» I waited in their waiting room for 2 days!!! Why can’t you just say «It’s gonna take a while, come back tomorrow, we’ll call you» — horrendous customer service!!! and guess what — car still was acting up IN THE SAME WAY a few days later! Took it back, they «fixed» it again — loose bolt, fine (why did you say the car was fixed if you didn’t tighten all the bolts???) — now I’m driving, ok, cool.
Car still doesn’t start everytime… after paying ridiculous amounts of money for work that didn’t even fully fix the problem, now I’m at a new mechanic shop less than a month later…
I’m in Salt Lake City now because I travel — people here are actually TRUSTWORTHY. The mechanic here at Salt Lake examined my bill from Big Q and told me they preformed TONS of irrelevant maintenance — THAT WASN’T EVEN RELATED TO THE ISSUE!!!
He said, verbatim «Looks like they took you to the cleaners on this one.»
NEVER go here. These people are awful, they just want to take your money, and I’m pretty sure they use EVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK TO DO SO!!! (EVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK, PEOPLE!!!)
Never trust these people with your precious vehicle! They will STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!
