A neighbor referred me to Bob at Alvin’s Auto Body to repair body damage to my Ford Explorer. Bob fixed my truck beautifully and at a very reasonable price. He also gave it a nice detail to where I did not notice it when I went to his very clean shop to pick it up! Thanks, Bob!

My boyfriend speaks very highly of Bob the owner and has taken several of his Subaru STi’s here over the last ten years for various types of work. From major paint to fender benders, his cars have come back looking new. He has noted that owners who want straight, honest, answers on paint and repair estimates should come here, especially if the brands are Audi, VW, and Subaru which Bob specializes in. In other words, if you’re not passionate about your car this is not the place for you. If you’re particular about quality and workmanship, then he recommends this shop hands down. Recently my boyfriend had the paint touched up on his 2006 STi and it looks like show quality and said he was given a discount for being a repeat customer. You can’t complain about that!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for quite some time. Got in a minor fender bender and needed a new front bumper. Took my car in and let them know I would be paying out of pocket. They immediately adjusted the price to the lowest I’d been quoted compared to other shops. They called their parts supplier and my part happened to be arriving on a plane that same day. Basically, I dropped my car off as soon as they opened, spent 20 minutes working out details, and was able to pick my car up the very next day by 4pm! It looked brand new! Fair prices and amazing customer service and auto body service. I’d recommend this shop to anyone.

My son’s truck was severely damaged after someone turned left in front of him while driving down Atlantic. It was the Thursday before 4^th of July weekend and we knew no one would get to it till the following week. I told the towing service to take it to Alvin’s, since over the years that was the go-​to place for repairs. Once there, I explained to Bob that I could have had it towed to our drive way, but thought he would appreciate the business. He told me the insurance more than likely would total it. The following week, my insurance got back to me and told me that Alvin’s charged excessive fees and that they would like to move the truck. I asked them to asses the damage and if it was a total loss, to move it. When I got compensation for the truck, I noticed my insurance had deducted from our payment the excess fees. Average shops rates in the area are $ 40 per day. Alvin’s charges $ 85 and a $ 125 «administrative fee». For six days, 3 of which were holiday weekend, the shop charged $ 365 in excessive fees. When I realized this I went in and explained the situation to Bob. He said he’d call my insurance and would get back to me. Two weeks later, I went in and the secretary told me that the shop is well aware that my insurance never pays the excessive fees. I told her that I had an option of storing the car in my drive way, but thought I would support a local business. I never thought it would cost me almost $ 400. Bob called me back, and refused to discount his fees. When I tried to talk to him about it, he kept changing the subject and basically said I was lucky to get what I got from the insurance. I told him that wasn’t why I was calling, and he said that there must of been a misunderstanding when I dropped it off. «I told you I wouldn’t charge you storage if we did work on it.» Yet he told me when I dropped it off that it was a total loss! Scam artist! My $ 400 dollar mistake. I will never go there again and will make sure to spread the word-​it does travel fast here in Bixby!

You need to go elsewhere. After an total loss accident the excessive storage fees not covered by insurance will be passed on to you. Bob was unwilling to accept insurance payment in full. I was stuck with the bill! Take your business elsewhere to a more trustworthy, honest, businessman. After bringing several vehicles in for repair, this is the last.

I was referred to Alvin’s by my mechanic at Matt’s Imports in cypress (check out his Unilocal page too! Great for repairs and maintenance). Matt does not do body work, so I turned to him for advice when I needed repair on my front bumper from an unfortunate fender bender. I went in on a Friday for an estimate and was able to return to the shop on the next business day (Tuesday…since it was Labor Day). I dropped my car off on Tuesday morning. I arrived early but was warmly greeted by the shop employees as they arrived for the day. At 7:30, the office opened, I gave my keys, and was on my way. By 4:15 my car was ready to go! While I’d prefer to never have been in an accident, I’m counting my blessings that I wasn’t hurt and was able to receive a cash discount for repairs! Plus I got to meet the sweetest shop dog, Sunny. my car door was deeply keyed, and i needed a quick and economical repair. their quote came in 20% less than other body shops. bob and lorena could not have been nicer. they worked with my schedule and were able to perform same-​day service, which i did not expect. when i picked up my car, the quote was exact, and the quality of the work excellent. i highly recommend them.

I took my 2013 Subaru Impreza wagon here because it’s a company where we refer people from the dealership that I work at so I thought that they would be friendly, fast and professional. Well, they are none of the above! The work I needed done was the front right fender and rear right fender and bumper mount and a little paint work. I processed the claim with my insurance company and contacted Alvins and they picked up my car within the hour and had me sign a blank form… my bad, I did sign it which I regret now but that’s not the reason for the one star.
Alvins had my car for almost 2 weeks and never called me once to give me updates on what was going on or when my car would be ready. Everytime I called them, I spoke with Lorena and she was short with me and rushed me off the phone. After calling three times and getting the same treatment, I asked to speak with her manager. She transferred me to Bob, whom I think owns the place. I voiced my concerns and he said and I quote, «I think her customer service is exceptional!» GREAT REPLY SIR! I told him, please listen to the calls if you have them recorded… long story short, I got off the phone with him and less than 10 minutes later, Lorena called back to apologize and was a lot nicer to me on the phone.
On the 13^th day, I called in again asking when will my car be ready? They said it’s all done and that they are just waiting for a bumper cover from my dealership which is on back order but they should have it tomorrow morning. So they’re blaming my dealership for a part your company could’ve placed an order for 13 days ago and had available to complete the job? Great planning Alvins!
Another day goes by, no call from them, I called again asking and Lorena said that the part never got in but they are trying to get it from another dealership and my car should be ready in an hour or so. I told her great, could you please drop it off. She said no that I needed to come by and make a payment first. I was frustrated and said okay and hung up only to call back a second later and asked her, couldn’t I just pay with a credit card over the phone? she said yes… she brought the car over and I inspected the areas where the work was done and there were small bumps on the paint on the front and paint bumps and ripples on the rear bumper, and dry paint drips between the bumper and body kit. I had them take it back twice and when I got it back, the dried paint drips were still there in addition to burn marks from using sand paper to remove the bumps on the paint on my rear bumper. I took it back the next day and talked to Bob personally. he said okay, I’ll have my guys sand it down… I told him no, you’ve sanded this down and that’s what caused the burn marks on the clear coat, he then interrupted me and said, you know, if you’re insurance company would pay me to work on the entire bumper, this… I interrupted him and said, you know if your f. king company called me to tell me this, I would’ve talked with my insurance or maybe I would’ve paid out of pocket for the work to be done properly! Sorry for the fbomb but I was really upset by this point. I gave them 3 opportunities to fix this and failed all three times! At the end, my car looks not so awesome and alvin got paid for a job not so well done but I learned my lesson and hope you do too from my mistake!
Steer clear of this place if you need paint and body work, I wish I did!

Horrible /​dishonest business.
Robert Lillegard will stall repairs to rack up the outrageous $ 85 daily holding fee (which I was never notified of) to the amount of your vehicle so he can put a lien on your car title and auction the vehicle off.
Also the receptionist is a miserable Youknowwhat. She can’t help with anything when calling and everybody else is always conveniently out of the office to answer questions.
I would not recommend this shop to ANYBODY…

Brought the ’72 bug to Alvin’s with a lot of damage from multiple accidents. The quality of the work was exceptional. The staff at Alvin’s took great care of every detail and the bug looks brand new. They went above and beyond the work I expected to make sure the bug was beautiful. The office staff, especially Lorena, was extremely helpful in dealing with the insurance company. We had multiple claims being handled at the same time and we were very pleased with the final result. We still can’t believe how great the bug looks. Wow. Great Job!!!

I had some paint cracking on my mercedes and I thought I had to get my car repainted. I came here and they let me know the part was replaceable. In the end I just had the part replaced and the cost was alot less than I expected. Im very please with their work and would definitely refer my friends and family. Thank you Bob and Lorena for your great customer service.

Great customer service, friendly and welcoming! Experienced technicians know their stuff and not only will tell you what you need but will show you and make sure you understand exactly what it is you’re getting!

Once again I am totally pleased with the work that was done by Alvin’s Auto Body. I got into an accident and needed to get fixed up. I was able to drop off the 2010 Ford Edge on a Monday. Bob was extremely helpful working things out with the insurance company for me. I am sure that he found several things that were overlooked. They were able to reach an agreement very quickly and estimated it would be eight days to repair the car. I got the call in seven days and picked it up on the eighth day as promised. The car was ready to go. The paint matched perfectly and there were no hitches. Thanks again for a great job Guys.

I’m amazed at a few of the folks coming In with such low scores and calling the owner a scam artist — because he quoted them an amount they didn’t like or made them negotiate. Wow. Grow up. My wife brought in her car for some dent removal and body work. Work was done well and on time and for the price they quoted. What more can you ask for? Perhaps the malcontents should thank the owner for not suing them for libel.

Bob, the older man with the grey hair, is a scam artist. BEWARE!!! He fills out a work order but the work is incomplete. I had to return my car and point out that the work promised was NOT done. He tries to get away by buffing over defects. $ 600 seems to be his going price. NOTE… he wants the payment checks made out to him personally.
Do NOT have body work done at this shop.

Saw this place on Unilocal and decided to check them out. My garage is a tight squeeze and of course I made the mistake of grazing the rear right side of my fx45 leaving a hideous white paint abrasion on my gold colored car. I actually tried to get it off just rubbing with a cotton towel but it was very stubborn.
So I go see Alvin’s don’t know who I spoke too, older gentleman. when I told him what was wrong with my car, he asked if I was using insurance or paying out of pocket. when I told him out of pocket, he jumped right up and told me «let me see if I can cut you a deal» which really means let me see how much money I can take from you. He comes out looks at the little bit of white paint thats on my car finds another little dent that I wasn’t even concerned with and tells me $ 600! Obviously I look at him like he’s lost his mind, but at the same time I understand the «game». Sad he wouldn’t suggest a simple remedy to me instead he tries to play me for a fool!
Yes there is a happy ending to this story first I didn’t get taken for $ 600, and secondly my girlfriend bought some Meguiars paint scratch solution for me. I got all of that paint off my car for less than $ 15.

Bob, the owner is very relaxed and friendly. He communicated with me the procedure, the paperwork and the entire repair process and how he works well with many of the various insurance companies. He knows his business well along with networking with customers. I was pleased with his courtesy and integrity up front. Nothing to hide. He drove me over to the rental car of «my» choice.
My car was taken in this am., so I will be sure to update my final rating when my car is ready for pick-​up. Stay tune…

Just want to reinforce any and all good comments about Alvin’s. I was so thankful that they were recommended to me. I could not be happier with the service, the kindness, the perfect results, the speed of the repair, and the overall feel of the place. Great people here doing great work. Go here.

Got in a pretty back wreck a few weeks ago, and Alvins did some top notch work to get my little car good as new! They’re certified to work on Volkswagons but I drive a Toyota and they took my car without any reservations. The father and son team who run the place (Bob & Bob jr.) are really familiar with insurance reps, and took care of EVERYTHING for me, even though they weren’t on my insurance’s «recommended» list of shops.
Of course I have a «take your time if it means it gets done well» policy, and boy it did! Leaving Alvins was like driving my car off the lot all over again! It looks as good as new, and feels it! I swear, they even gave it a spritz of new-​car smell. My only complaint is they aren’t so good at keeping you updated. I had to call every few days to find out what was going on with my car and the progress.
Overall though, this place definitely isn’t some low-​quality, rip-​off body shop. They’re legit, and I’ll recommend them for anyone I know in need!

I was referred to Alvin’s by Performance Plus because I needed my interior door handle replaced.
I always dread stepping foot onto these type of places because I always feel like they’re going to rip me off, but I didn’t get that feeling at all coming here.
The customer service was great. When I first arrived the person that I needed to speak to wasn’t around so the workers there tried contacting him. I was a bit annoyed at first because they didn’t have the parts for my car available and I had called in advance letting them know what day I was going to come in. But everyone there was so accommodating and friendly, and I felt like they went out of their way to work with my schedule so it made up for them not having the parts available during my first visit.
I would definitely consider coming here again if I needed any repairs done to my car.
