Established in 1920.

Established in 1920 when Marie Dresser donated land and building to the Town of Yorktown to become a library in Memory of her father, John C. Hart.

They have weird hours here but its been reliable since I was just a little kiddle. Staff can be snooty and act like space cadets from planet I hoard cats, but overall, its the spot I go to when I need to hibernate with a good dozen books for a few weeks. They have a children and adults area which keeps things nice and separated and how I like it– Quiet.
The local section about history of the area has been a new discovery for me which has been an amazing find. They are quick to bring in inter library loans and call you up as soon as it comes in. Check plus from me

Terrific library. From book, video and audio book reservation, family events for the community and plain old reading nook space, this is your spot.

Useful hours, friendly staff, westchester wide library holdings, and good community programs.
Holdings at library on the small side for the size of the community it serves, but very useful to go online and reserve there. The items usually show up within a few days.

Crompond, NY
A small town library that benefits from the county structure. The holdings of the entire Westchester County library system are available to card holders. This particular library has fairly light holdings on site. Audio books and magazines are particularly limited.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Be wary of the off-​hours drop box. One interlibrary loan I returned was lost and I still occasionally get static or fine due notices regarding it’s return.
