History

Established in 1993.

Doc James dating back to the 1960’s was a part time pipe and tobacco shop. In 1993 Adam DeSiena bought it, opened it full time and geared the business more towards premium cigars. The cigar boom hit in 1996 and Doc James has never looked back. The business has grown over the years and is now housed in a 2,000 square foot space. 2013 will be the launch of the DeSiena 312 cigar exclusively manufactured by Doc James, which will be distributed nationally.

Business Owner

Adam bought and transformed Doc James in 1993, 20 years later the store has grown and he now is delving into the manufacturing side of the premium cigar market. In 2004 Adam expanded his business to include his passion of golf. Now Doc James Cigars & Golf includes Tommy Bahama, Callaway and Nike golf products.

Doc James is an Oasis for Cigar Enthusiasts in Northern Westchester. They have a large selection of all the popular brands plus they are constantly finding unique cigars not available in most places. Prices are reasonable, staff is knowledgable. If you live in the area, they have a great club membership available with all the benefits of Manhattan Cigar clubs with a more reasonable dues structure.

Just over two years ago I found Doc James Cigars and Golf. It has since been my go to spot for all things cigars. After becoming a member two Octobers ago I have not looked back. Adam the owner, is a wealth of knowledge and has given me great insight into the world of cigars. Doc James is the only place you need for premium cigars in the Hudson Valley.

Nice place, but the service is horrible. Every time I go there it seems like they hate answering questions, and they only help customers that they know. Especially the older gentleman who works there, they should really think about having better customer service, I spend too much money on good cigars to go to a stuffy, rude environment to enjoy my hobby.
