Great Raft is my go-to spot in Shreveport. I go there enough that Bob, the taproom manager, knows my face and the staff is always super nice. The beer is excellent and they’ve really expanded the selection in recent months and their flagships are always great too. They always have lots going on at the brewery(I usually go to the Beer Yoga) and there are different delicious food trucks almost daily. They support the community through fundraisers and profit sharing nights and are a great ambassador for Shreveport and the craft beer scene. I’m glad this gem is so close to me and is one of the bright spots about moving to Shreveport. I’ll keep drinking real beer here!

This has been one of my favorite spots since they first opened. Great Raft has brought a wonderful variety of craft(indie) beer to the Shreveport/Bossier community. The atmosphere is great, and the beer is excellent!

Big fan of the Commotion Pale Ale; it is more of an IPA which, for me, is a good thing. All the others were OK. Very cool to be able to do a side by side comparison of the the Black Lager on nitro and carbon dioxide. Cajun food truck on a Friday night. First time I saw that you could use an app to request music to be played there. No dogs allowed. 6-packs of their beer was cheaper at Krogers.

Beer was okay, nothing earth shattering. The atmosphere could have been better. It was hard to have a conversation with weird/techno type music(extra-loud) pulsing through the bar area. I would not go back; it’s not the best brewery l’ve been to.

This craft beer brew pub is about a year and a half old and offers a nice chill atmosphere and some great products. There is no food here but there apparently is a Cajun food truck that drops by, carrying alligator sausage and such I was told. The servings(mostly pints) are all $ 5 and they have a top-notch selection. I tried their Reasonably Corrupt black lager, Creature of Habit coffee brown ale(great coffee taste and close to a top favorite), Born in a Barn saison, and Commotion American pale ale(probably my favorite). I also had a taste of the Southern Drawl pale lager which was ok and lighter, but I personally prefer more body and flavor. Upon reflection, I now realize that I just about tried ‘em all, and really enjoyed this outing! A couple of our party had negative reviews on the Walker Melon Texas Ranger IPA(too fruity or something to that effect). Seating is comfortable in two areas, and they have a spacious setup. Overall, a very nice and quality addition to Shreveport!

My favorite place to grab a beer in Shreveport. They’ve done a great job with the space and the beer. This group has great leadership and lots of creativity — always has a delicious new beer under development. Also, for a craft brewery, they have done a great job of keeping the prices reasonable.

Great Raft definitely kicks Shreveport up a notch! Went on our last trip to the Shreve, and we were totally impressed with the atmosphere and quality of the beer! Bands, corn hole, food trucks, and beer — what more do you need?! Beer favs included Commotion and Born in a Barn. We will most certainly be back!

Shreveport… A land of run down casinos and forlorn of things to do… Great Raft simply stands out as one of the coolest activities in town… If anything it’s a good place to start your evening off. If you’re sick of casinos and looking for something to do on a Thursday night or weekend afternoon/evening… Great Raft is should be your go to spot. This small local brewery cranks out some great craft beer. They have four choices… 3 of their staples and a seasonal. All 4 were great… But the Dark Lager was hands down my favorite. They also fill up growlers for $ 10 and sell growlers with a fill for $ 17. Unfortunately, no food here. But they did have a food truck that served sketchy fried food… Rain check… Hopefully they rotate through the food trucks and have better options on different nights. Even without food… It’s a cool joint. Air conditioning in the Taproom and picnic tables and cornhole in the brewery. Great Raft had a groovy rustic look to it and I really liked the history of the brewery and where the founders got their name from. I will be back. And I will drink more beer. I gotta do something with these left over tokens…

Great spot. Friendly staff and even got to meet one of the owners. Definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through Shreveport– was one of our favorite experiences of our trip to Shreveport. Great Raft Brewing has a variety of different craft beer. The double IPA was my favorite!

Alright alright alright, Shreveport has a brewery… finally. I lived in Shreveport till I was 24 and I chose to move to the great country of Texas(yes I said country) and live in Austin. Austin has numerous breweries and I frequent many of them as often as time and finances permit me. I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a beer snob, but I do love good beer and I’m pretty picky. When I was in town for Christmas, my friend told me they were having a special deal on Christmas eve and we should check it out. Any chance to drink beer and avoid awkward family conversations, so we went and checked it out. I kept bragging to my friend at how impressed I was that this place was in Shreveport and he just laughed at me. But seriously, if you live in Shreveport(and I’m sorry you do) and you drink beer, then you need to pay this place a visit. They have a sign that says something about it being the first brewery in Shreveport since prohibition and it’s definitely worth the time and money spent. Pros: delicious beer, cool vibe and ambiance and very clean in the brew room. Cons: encountered 1 rude employee and only 4 beer options.

Any time of day or night the Great Raft is a perfect place to take a break. Since we were here last they have added games huge rotating fan, and a projection TV. Watch a game, hang out with friends, throw some bean bags, drink great beer and enjoy a food truck meal. I would live in the back and work here if they needed a hand. Just pay me in beer and food truck coupons.

This was my first time here and we went on a Friday evening. It’s close to hospitals and medical offices so on a Friday its full of medical professionals. Each weekend they have food trucks which seemed to have good food! We will be back.

I went to a private part(Customer Appreciation Party for MACCENTRIC) here and it is a great place to party. They have a tasting room and the beers we tried were all unique and good. They had food trucks and the food was great. I think they also give tours of the brewery. Very unique venue with a fun atmosphere and friendly people!

This is a rare gem that you find when you really want to look. Great Raft Brewing is an ideal hang-out spot if you’re someone who enjoys kicking back with a good brew and enjoying lovely conversation with your fellow man. You’re drawn in by its rustic red-brick building and upon walking inside, you’re greeted by friendly folks who offer you two choices of beer sampling. You can buy a smaller collectable glass for $ 6 which comes with three beer tokens. You can also buy a larger collectable glass with three beer tokens for $ 15. Other than that, each beer is $ 5. I got the smaller glass and it turned out to be just fine, especially if you plan on going about other places afterwards on your own volition. They have three different beers of their own creation on tap. «Reasonably Corrupt,» a dark lager, «Commotion,» a beer which packs the citrus taste of a Blue Moon without the sweetness and«Southern Drawl,» a light beer that is easily the weakest of the three. The bartender station washes your glass before each new beer and they are smiling and fun to be around. Once you have your beer, you can hang around at the bar or at the beer-keg tables surounding it. You can also walk to another room which houses the brewing machines you can take a nice gander at. Food trucks also come on-hand to offer you something to much on while you drink and GRB is just fine with you bringing the food into the building. All in all, a very fun, enjoyable experience that I would readily repeat. :)

Nice atmosphere, cool décor and good beer. We came here after work on Friday and a food truck was parked outside. Periodically someone from the truck would come in with a basket of food to sell while people enjoyed beer. You have the option of buying a collectible glass cup that you get to keep and a chip so that you can get free refills– or just pay by the glass. Enjoyed a cold beer from the bar and yummy fish tacos from the truck. Awesome place for dates and groups!

Shreveport now has it’s own fully-functional brewery!!! This beer maker just began brewing this year, and will soon open its’ doors up for public tours, which will be AWESOME!!! I am so very pumped about this business, it makes me downright giddy! I recently attended a wonderful tasting event, of which Great Raft was the sole focus, and I can tell you that their Amber and Pale Ale are off the chain!!! I don’t even like Pale Ale’s, but Great Raft’s is quite tasty and has a nice zing to it! I really hope that Shreveport-Bossier gets behind Great Raft, both small businesses and consumers. I hope to see Great Raft become a source of pride in this area and I hope to see it everywhere here locally, bars and restaurants alike. Great Raft will be at Shreveport’s 2nd Oktoberfest(must be in recent history, because I remember attending an Oktoberfest at Pierremont Commons back in the 80’s) at Zocolo’s on Ashley Ridge, September 28th-hope they will have all college football games on at that time also. This is an exciting and new business venture for Shreveport and it may be this area’s first brewery… I’m not sure. But I remember being down in College Station, Texas, in the early 90’s before Shiner really broke loose, and I was living in south Louisiana in the mid to late 90’s when Abita was on the precipice of greatness… Call me an eternal optimist, but I’m getting that same vibe here. Check out their website. Go to Oktoberfest. Be on the lookout for the announcement of public tours and other appearances and events. Great Raft will be great for this area!
