Neiman Marcus

This is by far the best NM in the tri-​state area. Always immaculately clean. The staff as a whole are consistently polite, friendly, and helpful. I frequently have SA’s from Ladies Shoes text me photos of and locate Chanel bags and clothing. They’re always sending me photos of new items, and are quick to order from other stores when needed
The NM in Paramus is literally a Walmart compared to this one

This is specifically regarding the Chanel handbags and accessories counter. There are a few nice SAs here and there, but Michael and Maureen are the worst. They lie about the stock in the store (I went looking for a caviar classic flap, and Maureen said that they only had the small flap. But the next day, a friend went to return an item, and she suddenly had the maxi as well). I went on several occasions, and other SAs have been able to check their stock in the back for me, but Maureen just sits at the counter and doesn’t even check. They have a lot of seasonal stuff, and but the boutique in the Mall is better in terms of service and attitude. Also, the gentleman in the Chanel clothing counter upstairs at NM is much nicer. If service sucks, and there is no stock, customers will be lost. I have bought several Chanel items over the course of this year, and bought all of them at the boutique. NM Chanel counters are great — I know an SA from Ohio who will search and call me back for items I want, so there is no need to deal with SAs who do not help.

Large store, kept immaculately clean, super helpful staff.
Mens selection is not very large.
Prices are high — best to wait for sales unless you need something now. They tend to have more expensive designers than the Nordstrom right next door.
Like Nordstrom, they have their own café.

Neiman Marcus has a lot to learn about doing business. I recently purchased some socks there for only $ 27. Because I used a credit card, I was asked for my driver’s license which was taken to the register, and out of my sight. I, and almost anyone else, can go to stores and make purchase of $ 10,000 and more without being asked for a driver’s license. AS a matter of fact, I know of no other store that does this. It serves no purpose other then to give Neiman’s your personal information. The credit card company does the authorization without that and does not hold Neimans responsible if they follow procedures. This is an invasion of privacy and insulting. The two custom tailored suits I was going to order I purchased from a different retailer. I am not going back to Neimans … even for socks. If you don’t want to hand out your personal information when it isn’t needed, I suggest you do the same.

Love the café. It’s the only place in the mall to get quality food and lovely waitresses. A top quality meal in 30 minutes or less! Try the curried chicken salad and have s chocolate chip cookie for dessert!

The chef here is great! :-) we always come for lunch and he remembers us. The food is excellent.

I am almost crying writing this… I have always been a HUGE NM fan. In general, the quality of the goods and the service are excellent. At least, they are in Texas. Apparently, not so much in NJ.
So, I eagerly go to NM once I move back here only to be so completely disappointed. The customer service at the NM at Short Hills in nonexistent. And the variety of clothes and purses? Well. there isn’t any.
All in all, I walked out thinking — why on earth would I come back to this small little store and deal with the attitude when I can go to BG or directly to the boutique stores in Manhattan?

So far my experiences with the SA’s here have been great. Whether it’d be browsing for something or returning items I bought online, the SA’s are always friendly and helpful.
Suzanne from the men’s sunglasses department is amazing. She congratulated me on my engagement after spotting my ring. We had a fun conversation, and she even gave me an extra red case for my Ray Ban sunglasses. Adam from the shoe department is always very helpful. The ladies from the bag department are always really nice and there to help if I have any questions.
The only bad service I’ve experienced was from this Russian woman in the women’s sunglasses department. While we were browsing, she just coldly stared at us without asking if we needed help or anything.
My favorite part about NM is when they offer the gift cards with purchase promos. You can sometimes get designer items at up to 30% off! Too bad it’s only online and they don’t have it at the stores =[.

This review is specifically for the store itself and its lovely sales associates. Unlike a lot of other big department stores with sales associates that work on commission, the sales associates at Neiman Marcus Short Hills make sure you get exactly what you want, but I have never had anyone try to push me to buy anything or treat me any differently when I am only browsing (which is rare in a big department store).
Eileen Lieberman, one of the handbag specialists, is especially amazing. She will track down any handbag you want and NEVER pressures you to buy. Overall wonderful shopping experience!

They have a great selection on women’s shoes. In most experiences the help in this department are friendly, but on occasion there is a snooty one.
There’s an older Russian woman that works in coats that is very sweet. And today a very nice woman helped me look at purses. I enjoy going to this neiman marcusm

Love this place! It has become my new favorite store, this location in particular. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. I got my birthday shoes, Louboutins of course and a pair of Chanel earrings. The shoe sales people were very nice, friendly and patient. I was greeted when I stepped foot on the floor. I tried on a few pairs before I decided on the classic patent Pigalle. The shoe sa gave me great advice and it didn’t seem like he just wanted a sale, he actually cared that I was happy and confident, especially since this was for a special occasion.
The sales people in Chanel were ahhh but once the sa figured out I was there to buy and not just look, he became much more friendly even offering a follow up consultation and further assistance.
The store is very beautiful and easy to maneuver, it wasn’t overly crowded, thats not their type of clientele, so I’ve been told and I didn’t find myself wandering around searching for someone to help me. It was a good experience that’s made me a customer for life now.

The best Neiman Marcus in Tri-​State area. They usually carry all the exclusive stuff that Garden State Plaza doesn’t like Tom Ford Cosmetics and a larger selection of shoes. Staff has always been helpful and never snobby, something you can experience sometimes at their GSP location. Just wish it was a bit closer. GSP is about 10 minutes from my house but I usually take the 30 minute drive here due to their better service and selection. Plus this mall is never as packed and rowdy as GSP.

Excellent salesperson in shoe department. This was my first experience buying boots in Neiman Marcus but I was looking for something particular that I had in mind. I wanted a pair of all leather knee high boots with no elastic .The salesperson was very helpful and brought me out the sizes of the style that I liked. Fortunately, they had them in my size 9 ½. He thought 9 would be better but I preferred the 9 ½. They were pricey but I will have them for years to come and will return to the shoe department here.

This review is for their Café. I’ve been coming here for ages and this place is always a go to of mine for some lunch before or after some shopping.
We came on Saturday during prime lunch time and surprisingly we didn’t have to wait too long. We usually have a long wait.
My favorite part of the meal is the popovers + strawberry butter that we get. I love the strawberry butter and it’s like crack to me. It tastes so good with the popovers. I recommend coming here just for this! You also get a small cup of consume which is good as well.
I find the service here to be good. I never had any issues and the servers here are also very attentive and nice.
For our latest meal — we got their chicken pailard which is a bread chicken on top of a bed of couscous with some tomato sauce. The dish was awesome and I recommend it! We also tried their turkey melt ciabetta and that was good too although it wasn’t hot when it got to us. I suspect it sat waiting while the chicken dish was being cooked. They have a new thing where they have a calamari appetizer and that was okay for $ 12. The calamari rings are super tiny. We also tried their herb cauliflower soup and that was just okay. The bowl you are given is super tiny so I don’t recommend getting their soup.
We complimented our lunch with some NM Spiced Iced Tea and that was good! I think the menu that we got was out dated with prices since we were charged $ 4.50 instead of $ 4 for the spiced iced. We also got a NM Chocolate Chip cookie for dessert and they’ve raised the prices on these cookies =(It used to be $ 3 and it is now $ 4. They are also not freshly made since there was a sticker on it that said made in Dallas (where their headquarters are).
All in all, we had a good lunch. Their lunches never fail me and I’ll be back the next time I’m at Short Hills! Oh and they used to give out these chocolate covered peppermint sticks, but they replaced them with these chocolate minty squares.

This is a fine store. not why I go to the Short Hills Mall, but once there Im happy to see what Niemans has to offer. I have found hit or miss customer service, but I dress down for the mall, so that’s probably why.
I find Niemans a little stuffy for my taste, but on occasion you can find beautiful things. I have a coat I bought at Niemans years ago that still looks and wears great.

Pretty good selection for women although the men’s department is a bit on the thin side. I prefer the Neiman’s in Garden State Plaza where they have some better options.
It would be nice if they carried more of the items they had online but it still is the best store in the Short Hills mall for overall choices in clothing and accessories.

So I went to Neiman Marcus on a shopping spree…
I bought my first pair of Manolos here. The calf skin was like butter. The people in the shoe department are often less than helpful as others mention. Oooh, you work at Neiman Marcus. I still prefer Saks.
Lately I am broke so Neiman’s is off my list of places to shop except to scour the sale rack in hopes of finding something fancy at a reasonable price. I did find a Vera Wang dress for $ 70. That was a good find and I have a wedding to go to, so it’s a justified purchase.
The staff here can smell regular people and they tend to stay away. They know we are not going to spend loads of money and they know we aren’t going to be regular customers.
But if you are looking for a nice designer item in the short hills mall, you should go here. They have a better selection than the Saks in this mall. And it’s easier to shop here than the boutiques because everything is in one place.

Store is immaculate and they have exquisitely well made clothes that are astronomical. Service is impeccable. My go to place for jewelry and mens colognes.

I am a big fan of this Neiman Marcus store for the single fact that one of the nicest employees I have ever encountered works at the David Yurman counter. I bought a David Yurman ring from him a few years back and his service was incredible back then — extremely friendly and wildly persuasive — ended up selling me the next size up (bigger gem and setting)! It was a big price jump but he assured me it was worth it, and if I wasn’t happy with it I could always bring it back to him and exchange it for the smaller ring. It was easily one of the best purchases I’ve made, I adore the ring!
I returned to the store a few months ago to ask for a new cleaning cloth for the ring. Sure enough, my favorite salesman was working at the Yurman counter and gave me a new cloth! He even gave me another brand cloth, not even the Yurman one, because he said this other brand was much better for cleaning!
Leaving this Neiman Marcus is always great as you are bombarded with perfume from the perfume and cosmetics department.
