I have been here a few times since moving to Shorewood a year and a half ago. The past two visits have been unpleasant. The first time, a man did all of the pedicure except for polish, and drew blood. The woman who completed the polish and did my gel manicure was rude. The last visit resulted in the same rude woman doing a nail repair. I also noticed a cockroach on the wall. Unsanitary, to say the least!

I’ve been coming to this place for years. The staff are always nice and the work is always clean and on point. I’m very particular about how my nails are done and the staff always make sure they are done to my liking. The manicures and pedicures last forever. Atmosphere isn’t spa like as mentioned in other reviews but the work done makes up for it! Had to edit this. Services went down the past couple months and they ruined my nails more than once. Like broke my pinky from the root messed up. It’ll be a while before I even consider going back.

I LOVELOVELOVE North Shore Nails — my favorite nail salon anywhere! Andy and Kayla have done an amazing job since taking over the business and they know how to treat and retain their customers. Fair prices, excellent services — you can’t do better than this!

I absolutely LOVE this salon! My mom, sister and I have been coming year for over 5 years for manis/pedis. It is a very cute and clean family owned salon, we have always been extremely pleased with our service. I usually get the«no chip» manicures and if I have any problems within one week I come back and they fix everything. The atmosphere here is very relaxing and perfect to come with family or friends. North Shore Nails can accommodate any mood your are in or specific requests you may have. I like to get my nails done quickly and my mom and sister like to have a long relaxing service. We are always pleased with the services here. The staff is so kind and will change their techniques based on what you request. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a pleasant, relaxing spa experience with great services… Two thumbs up!

I know it is my own fault for waiting until the last minute and not being able to get into my regular spot, but this was a weird experience. I didn’t say bad– just not for me. The first woman who worked on me was so incredibly harsh that at one point I let an «Ouch!» escape. It made no impact. She kept going. She used a device all over my foot(Including the top of my foot!) that made me afraid to look down, lest I see blood. When I did look down, the device looks just like the brush my husband uses to clean the grill. There is no tool like that my regular place, I’m sure of it, but we might have one in the workshop. I get regular pedis and I don’t have Hobbit feet. Why the torture? Maybe a lot of people like that. Maybe a belt sander is what you need to pick up the speed of this process. Maybe my regular place is too wimpy and I’ve become soft and weak by extension. But this hurt. Really hurt and she seemed to be in a mad hurry and was non responsive to my flinching and crying out. I have to say she even hurt me just REMOVING my current polish. Hey, I’ve had 3 kids the hard way. I’m not a wimp. Simmer down a little, really! Then, a second person came over to apply color. He was nice. I’m not used to being a two person job. But I think because they are a walk in place, speed is of the essence here. It shows. I guess with that priority, a team approach is necessary. He was ok, but again, a bit rough up to and including PUNCHING my feet and legs. Flinched again. He was nice, noticed I was flinching and tensing up with each blow. He asked if that hurt. I said please don’t do that any more. I guess this is just a different approach that works for a lot of people, not for me. Finally, I was under the dryer way too long without someone checking in. My bad, I smudged my toe because I wanted out. Waited 15 minutes to find an available person to help me out. First lady of the grill brush did fix it. Atmosphere: same interior design as Subway next door. 80’s motivational posters on the walls, HGTV subtitled on the big screen – evocative of the last place I had the oil changed in my car. Definitely not the spa experience you can get up the street for $ 3 more. Bright lights, French’s Mustard yellow on the walls. Also, it could have been a little cleaner. Lots of dust shows up well on white shelving. The towel that was laid out at the beginning of my treatment had schmutz on it. Staff is very down to business, very fast and as I’ve mentioned, quite rough. Not a good feeling. The good points: second guy was friendly. They are certainly available in a pinch. Sorry, not for me. I see there are a lot of good reviews here and I’m willing to allow that some people like the rough stuff, but personally, it wasn’t enjoyable and rather nerve wracking. I wouldn’t return.

My pedi was amazing; clearly, if I’m filling this out as I sit here with my toes under the dryer. For starters, I stubbed my big toe earlier today and was a little apprehensive to still come with my friend. I told the lady working with me that Id hurt my toe. She was extremely careful and attentive of that. The woman was also extremely thorough and my massages rocked. I paid only a few bucks extra for the deluxe pedi… Totally worth it. If definitely come here again and recommend this place to my friends.

$ 15 for a flawless manicure that I can’t stop looking at. There are no smudges and the nail shaping was perfect. It’s a simple, clean place — no frills. Just pleasant people, straightforward manicure, and unbeatable prices. I did a walk-in on a frigid 15-degree Wednesday afternoon, around 4:45. Picked a color from the wide variety of OPI shades, and 30 minutes later had beautiful nails.

My friend and I decided to get impromptu pedi’s. We did a quick Unilocal search for nail salons in the area we were closest to. We decided to give North Shore Nails a shot. They do accept walk-in clients. We went on a weekday evening so it was very slow. I imagine that on a weekend when they may be a little more busy an appointment may be more preferable. The salon was cleanly and simple. Nothing too fancy– but there is certainly nothing wrong with simple. There was a decent nail color selection to choose from. The pedi itself was typical and pleasant. My friend and I both opted for the deluxe pedicure as it was only $ 6 more than the basic. The deluxe includes a foot/leg massage. I was disappointed in my massage… I felt as though the person didn’t do a great job. i also felt as though she only spent a minute total on my massage– I was hoping for something a little more thorough. My friend on the other hand, received a decent massage. So, I think that it is dependent on which person you get for the pedicure. I would go back and give it a second chance. I think that my dissatisfaction is not a reflection on the business itself but rather just one of the employees. As far as the price range goes– it’s just right. It’s hard to find a decent and affordable nail salon. This I think is the best part– you can afford the services. Oh, the one BIG thing that I should include. I rarely carry cash. So, I paid with my credit card. They do not offer you to tip on using your credit card. You have to tip in cash. So, bring some cash to tip.

Working not too far down the street, I have recommended and have been recommended to this nail salon often. The owners are great, friendly, and very professional. Received a pedicure after a previous, different establishment, traumatizing experience and this definitely put me at ease. An actual clean pedicure bowl! The poor lady had lots of work to do on these nasty puppies and she delivered! Came back a different time for a pre-vacation shellac(that actually lasted, see previous review). Only negative, she didn’t give me too many colors to pick from. Of course I’ll go back.

Do you want to get a cheap pedicure while you have your back karate chopped by a massage chair and watch the people’s court or zone out on «motivational» posters plastered on sickly yellow walls? Yep this is the place for you!

Great prices for manicures and pedicures. I just got a pedi and it was great, they spent a ton of time on my feet while I got a massage in the massage chair for 45 minutes! Nice way to treat yourself without forking over a lot of money at an upscale salon/spa
