Healthy Start Dentistry, S.C.

Julie Wills is one of my favorite people ever. After being there only one time before, with 6.5 months in between, she remembered my job, etc. It was incredible. She also conducted a great cleaning, and was very educational. I left Milwaukee, and now I’m afraid that I already found the best dentist in the world with her, and nobody will be able to match her incredible nice and attractive personality and service.

More than a year later, and I still love this office! Julie and Lindsey are great, I literally look forward to catching up with them every time I come. I was/​am between insurances for a bit, so I was paying out of pocket for my work. They don’t have a payment plan, so be warned if you don’t have insurance.
I’m waiting for my new insurance to start, and am not sure how much will actually be covered with the new coverage. But I still plan to continue going here, even if my insurance doesn’t cover everything. To me, it’s worth paying more if it means less stress. Before, I literally would feel anxiety the days leading up to appointments. That thought makes me laugh now because I literally look forward to it. I feel like Bill Murray in The Little Shop of Horrors! Except Julie is NOT Steve Martin haha.
I recommend this office to all my dentist fearing friends.

Dr. Julie is absolutely wonderful and has a great assisting staff as well (Lindsey is very sweet). I highly recommend going to her if you have any fear of going to the dentist as I did. She made me feel really comfortable and listened to my concerns/​questions. She is a total gem and I am actually looking forward to going back to the dentist for my next check up. :]

Updated review — I first went to Dr. Julie several years ago for myself. I still recommend her to everyone I know looking for a dentist. Now my young toddler has started seeing her as well. She is very patient during his visits and shows her tools and gadgets to get him to warm up and understand what is happening. Yesterday he didn’t want his teeth polished, but after a few short minutes of talking, showing, watching, and brushing his teeth for Dr. Julie, he let her polish his teeth and count them using her dental tools. Both his visits have been a 100% success. I knew Dr. Julie was a great dentist for adults. Now I know she’s a great dentist with kids and toddlers, too.

Can’t believe I have not reviewed Dr. Julie yet!
Here is a list of what you can find in her practice:
1. Friendly and personable staff
2. Dr. Julie herself will spend more time with you than any other person in the office.
3. Takes photos on your first visit and walks you through each one. Points out trouble areas and tips on how to better care.
4. No judgement on your history or decisions you have made about your health.
5. Appointments are easy to make by phone.
6. No metal scratchy plaque thing. (Very technical terms here folks)
7. Lots of different flavors of tooth polish.
8. If you go in for more extensive work, you get to pick a pandora station to listen to while they do their thing.
9. You are given chap-​stick if they have to do a filling or other work. This was GENIUS to me. Normally my mouth would be so dry by the end of the dental work but having the chap-​stick on hand saved me this time.
10. They will remember you and ask you questions about things you discussed last time you visited.
Go here if you are looking for a small and intimate dentist who has a ton of knowledge. Dr. Julie is super patient with everyone she meets. She has only ever encouraged me to do things for my mental health not told me what to do which I think shows how wonderful she really is as a practitioner!

Dr. Julie was impressive, likely the most educated and friendliest dentist I’ve ever visited. She did a full bite wing analysis on my mouth and explained what dentists look for on the digital x rays.
Not only was she super friendly, but she had no dental hygienists — taking care of everything herself. She taught me a lot about why soft bristle toothbrushes are recommended (enamel protection) and had a bomb mint-​chocolate flavored tooth polish.
She uses sonicwave cleaning, which is the latest technology in dentistry. I didn’t like the noise associated with the high pitched sonicwave (earplugs lol) but it cleaned my mouth very well. She conducted a very thorough analysis on my mouth and actually taught me a lot about what dentists look for in regards to enamel, nerves, mineral spots, premorbid cancer, etc.
I really cannot recommend this woman enough. Highly personalized, friendly care, extremely educated with the latest dental technology. If you want an elite dentist, hit up Julie.

I went to Dr. Julie for an exam and cleaning. I had a great experience. Dr. Julie and the hygienist did a great job. They were very personable, thorough and took their time in providing very useful information. I would give them a 5 star rating for their service.

I grew up with my hometown dentist that I knew and trusted, and since moving away from home 13 years ago I have jumped from dentist to dentist as I moved to Madison, and then to Milwaukee, and really never had a good experience. I decided to sit down and really spend a lot of time doing my research before trying another dentist, and I ultimately came across Dr. Julie’s website and her reviews. I figured that if this many people had a good experience she had to be good, and it turns out she was great! I even had a little cosmetic issue with discoloration caused by fluorosis I never trusted anyone to fix and I gave her a shot and she did a fantastic job with that as well. She will be my dentist as long as I live in Milwaukee.

I am new in Shorewood and I was looking for a dentist. The reviews for Dr. Julie look fake or paid for. Three or four of them have the same wording and are written by people with very few reviews. Do your research and you will see what I am talking about. I went in with some skepticism. I don’t usually review doctors or dentists, like most people. She deserves the rating. I had the usual checkup. She cleaned my teeth with a laser. That was a first. I came back for a small filling. I am a happy and satisfied customer.

Dr. Julie Wills is outstanding. The ultra modern equipment she uses in combination with her easy-​going, friendly personality and personable staff makes your dental visit unlike any other dental visit that you may have had in the past somewhere else.

I’d give Dr. Julie a 10 if I could. She is an amazing dentist — all the latest technology for laser cleaning, digital x-​rays and the like as everyone here has mentioned. She goes over everything. Explains everything she sees. She does the cleaning herself. Lots of parking in back although I chose her specifically because I wanted a dentist within walking distance. Receptionist (Tina) was amazingly helpful and friendly. The view from all exam rooms is looking west past the river and I’ll bet it will be awesome come fall. THE DENTIST OF MY DREAMS.
Get this — she even gives you sunglasses to wear during your cleaning so that her bright light scope doesn’t «blind» you!

I chose Dr. Julie Wills office purely by a gut feeling and I am so glad I was right. Her staff, Tina and Lyndsay are wonderful too. Their welcoming smiles are perfect for a dentist office. Dr. Julie has great knowledge and talks to the patient in an understanding way. Her office has the latest and greatest, but the prices are reasonable. Dr. Julie Wills is amazing. She has a great personality, and she is a great doctor. She is very knowledgeable and very careful with your teeth. They have the latest technology in the market, including PANDORA for your ears, and cool shades to relax :) very cool. I really enjoyed my visit here.

Dr. Wills is awesome! I had such an amazing visit with her. She is very educational when she is explaining things to you but explains it in a way that is very easy to understand. When doing dental work, she is very attentive of your comfort levels and makes you feel at ease during the entire visit. You even get to listen to Pandora with personal headphones when getting any major dental work done to help take your mind off of things! (A++). I have been very hesitant in choosing a new dentist and Dr. Wills is it!!! I will continue to see her for all my dental needs. If you choose Dr. Wills, you will not be disappointed! She is the dentist to have.

The best dentist around!!! I have been going to Dr. Julie since she opened Healthy Start Dentistry and will never go anywhere else. Dr. Julie takes the time to explain everything and answer any questions you have. She took the time to make sure I was comfortable while I had a couple of cavities filled and my teeth have felt great since. From the moment you walk in, you are treated with genuine care and a staff that makes going to the dentist enjoyable. This office has all of the up-​to-​date technology, including a camera that allows Dr. Julie to take pictures and explain any areas of concern. Definitely contact this office if you are looking for a dentist!

A perfect amazing dentist! First she has the latest technology. She is very knowledgeable! she is very gentle with the teeth.
During the first visit she does a complete checkup from Blood Pressure, to checking your teeth, bones teeth, if any tumor. She is really dedicated! and excellent.
