These people gave me a tens machine told me to try it for a few weeks and see if I liked it. It did not do any better then my amazon bought machine so i sent it back in the prepaid envelope after calling and talking to them. I was told no problem no one would be billed. I found out later on they billed my insurance provider. This company is full of thieves do not trust them.

I have been getting the runaround from this company regarding getting supplies and having those supplies billed through my Medicare Advantage insurance carrier.
Let’s start with the statement that the insurance carries states that the supplies are, indeed, covered by the insurance and that the carrier WILL pay any claim that is submitted.
Turning to Empi, Inc. now, each time I order supplies I get the statement that my insurance carrier is not paying the claims, and that the company CANNOT get the billings to go through.
Well, guess who is caught in the middle on this?
I have provided them several times all of the information that they require to make the proper billing, and have gone as far as to provide them a telephone number of the people at the insurance carrier so the two of them can workout their problems.
I have had numerous phone conversations with them where they promise to get back to me on the issue. Of the seven or eight promises of return calls, I have received only one. That one went directly to my voice mail that curiously never rang on my phone, but that may well be a different issue that they have no ability to resolve.
I have also contacted them by e-​mail regarding this, asking them to inform me how they are progressing in resolving the problem. When I receive a response it is usually communicating the civil service shrug and that the matter has been passed off to another.
Let me do say that the representatives that I have spoken to have been more than pleasant, but they are utterly without ability to provide an answer or to resolve the problem.
I will be moving up the chain of command and will, if required move the matter up to the
Center for Medicare Services.
My goal is to get my supplies on a timely basis; nothing more, nothing less.
I am determined to get the medical supplies that I require to address my medical problem and I insist that I obtain the supplies to which the law says I am entitled.

The following is a letter I wrote to Bradley Beecher, president of Empi on 9÷5÷2013. After I wrote the letter, I received a notice to pay or they would turn my account over to a collection agency. Do not risk your credit doing business with this company.
«Dear Mr. Beecher,
I have to take the time to write to you because I tried to resolve my problem with your medical billing department and I was unsuccessful in getting them to respond.
This annoying charge for $ 67.20 was billed with the wrong transaction date, so that my insurance did not pay because it fell in a new deductible/​year. The (TENS) unit itself had the correct transaction date of 12÷31÷12, but the wires and pads showed a transaction date a week later.
I wrote to my physical therapist who dispensed the unit and to your billing department months ago and received no response from either. I tried to call, but gave up after waiting on hold, then being told your patient accounts phone line was not answering and their voicemail is full at 12:20 pm Pacific time on a Tuesday.
So you have a department which can’t enter the correct transaction date and doesn’t respond to letters or phone calls. There is lots of controversy about medical billing these days. Maybe the only way to keep an insensitive, unresponsive company from putting an unnecessary dent on my credit report will be to contact the press or various regulators.
How much time should a patient have to spend to clear up a $ 67 invoice? We’ll see if the problem goes all the way to the top and should become a regulatory or newsworthy issue.

Though my product works well it’s nowhere worth the hassle I’ve had to deal with in their billing department. Though my back pain is less, the company is a big pain in the ass. You can find anything they sell on
for pennies on the dollar.
