Specialties
We specialize in having an open and friendly atmosphere. We urge you to look at the reviews that have been hidden by this site. They are from students who have highly recommended our studio but for some reason are not shown. This could be because we do not buy advertising on this site but the site will deny that. We have students who have been studying with us for over a decade, that is a pretty good recommendation. The fact that all our teachers are nationally certified in a great recommendation. And finally, the fact that we foster a giving and welcoming community, tells you a great deal about the studio and the people who teach and study there.
Tree House Iyengar Yoga studio specializes in small classes for personal attention to the student. Yoga is more than exercise. The student becomes more aware of his or her body and the connection between the body and the mind. This awareness leads to a more focused mind and a healthier body.
Our teachers have studied for years to pass the most extensive certification program in the US. They view each student individually and provide a supportive atmosphere for growth on the physical, intellectual, and emotional levels. Tree House is more than a yoga studio, it is a community of like minded individuals making life better for themselves and others.
History
Established in 2003.
When Pat Musburger, Director of Tree House Iyengar Yoga, moved to Seattle in 2003 she was blessed with the opportunity to begin running a small neighborhood yoga studio. With just 2 other teachers and a core of about 20 students she set about making it a place to study a subject about which she was passionate. Iyengar Yoga had changed her life nearly 10 years earlier. Diagnosed with breast cancer, it was her yoga practice that gave her much of the physical and emotional strength needed to survive. We now have 6 teachers and have been the yoga home of over 500 students. Our community is involved in fundraising for causes such as Northwest Harvest, Everett Women’s Shelter, Marcia Rifkin Ovarian Cancer Center, and of course the Komen Race for the Cure. We look forward to introducing more people of all ages and physical abilities to the benefits of yoga as developed by BKS Iyengar, named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
