Jane is amazing. The first time I went to see Jane was in 2009. She helped me grow my brows back in before an out-​of-​state move. I returned to the area in 2015 and went right back to Jane. No one sees faces and brows like this woman. If you have over tweezed or been over done at one of the many brow bars popping up… Jane to the rescue. It will take time and patience on YOUR part. Growing brows back is hard. But she makes it worth it. I’ll never go anywhere else.

I’m a guy and a lady friend introduced me to Studio JYC. I am mid 40s and at the age where usually brown spots start to show up. In 2 treatments all my browns spots are gone using RF technology to «zap» them away, 1^st treatment you will not look normal for one week, lots of scabs depending on amount done, 2^nd treatment are for the remaining burdensome ones and will be much less treatment time. All for less $$$$ than one «IPL» treatment a skin/​plastic surgeon recommended for me.

Amazing place. Took me a little bit to find cause it’s embedded in a strip mall, but Jane made it worth while. She did my eyebrows and gave me some great advice for how to regrow the hair that other places had ripped out. Definitely will be returning.

Can’t believe that I’ve never written a review here before, because this place is seriously the best. I started coming to see Jane in 2010 because she was super close to my old house and she had the best reviews around. She was my first waxing experience and she set the bar so, so high. I honestly didn’t see why people complained about the pain so much because it’s so quick and really not that uncomfortable with her.
Fast forward a few years, and I’ve lived in other places and dealt with some seriously weird/​asymmetric hair from other salons. This past week, I was back in Seattle and scrambling to get an appointment before a wedding and was so, so happy that Jane is still around and (according to the recent reviews) still doing a great job.
After a few swapped text messages, Jane fit me in the very next day and had me in and out in 15 minutes. Not painful, very symmetrical, and with hilarious banter the whole time. It’s just one of those experiences where it’s so nice to be seen by someone who really has the talent and the passion to do the job right.

Jane is excellent. I get my brows done by her, and I’m always very happy with the results.
Cash-​only, but only a minor inconvenience since the service is so great. She’s easy to get a hold of, and I’ve almost always been able to get last minute brow appointments whenever I’ve waited too long. Very personable and knows what brows should look like.

I was dreading having to come in and get a wax before my wedding. I was a first timer and was expecting the most awkward and uncomfortable experience. I am super awkward even at the gyno, so I was not looking forward to this. Boy was I wrong. Jane was so fun and personable, it put me right at ease. She squeezed me in even though she was closed and she was affordable! Best of all it was not painful. I was really anticipating the whole thing to be awful, but Jane was fantastic. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the state. My sister came with me, she was in town from Florida, she said she was going to come back next year for her first one since she saw how great Jane was. Bottom line: If you’re going to get a wax, go to Jane.

Jane is AWESOME! Thanks god I picked her when I came to Seattle! She is really nice, a lot of advice, and she did a lot for my skin too! The price are good and she is always available for her customer!

Jane is awesome! Found her on Unilocal months ago and I’m so glad I did! I have a crazy work and travel schedule which means I’m always asking last minute for appointments and she works me in every time. She does a great job, and her prices are completely reasonable. I used to live five minutes away and have since moved but I still find time to get to her even with my crazy schedule because Jane is worth it!

Very professional and kind person. I went in cause I’ve never had my eyebrows done. I was actually told NOT to do anything to them because they’re still growing in (I’m 17 haha). She also gave advice to my friend that went in there with me as well. I will come back after a year or so when my eyebrow hairs are full grown. I recommend JYC Studio to anyone and everyone. :)

I have plenty of experience having hairs pulled out of my body en masse. It’s never a good thing, you know? a necessary evil of sorts.
Jane comes as close as I’ve ever had it get to good. I do a Brazilian and eyebrows every 4 – 5 weeks and she’s brilliant. She sugars my nether bits and I *don’t get ingrowns* (I’m a redhead and that’s a miracle.) It doesn’t really hurt terribly badly either. She threads my eyebrows and they look wonderful. The table is always comfortably warm and cushy, the room dim, the music relaxing.
Plus she’s funny, charming, warm and easy to talk to. She always makes me laugh. She is a beautiful woman inside and out, good business and psychology insights and always an interesting conversationalist.
FYI, she only takes cash or checks. I felt awful that I didn’t remember my checkbook and told her I’d run home and be right back– with a sunny smile she waved me off and told me to mail it.

Jane is super knowledgable and knows what she’s doing! She is easy to talk to and the appointment was quick and pretty much painless (though I do have a tolerance to waxing). The studio itself is pretty homey and comfy. If you forget to wear the appropriate clothing, they have some readily available.

I have always had ‘problem’ skin. But what happened to my face during the several month span of getting threaded by Jane was an absolute nightmare. This was my first experience with threading as I had always waxed and sugared before. The first appointment was easy, I sent her a text to see if I could come in to get my lip done and she was able to see me no problem. She was very friendly and welcoming and I liked her right away. She did a great job with my lip so I began going regularly and added in the brows. I soon started to notice a lot of small rashy looking zits on whatever area I had threaded. During one visit she threaded what felt like my entire face without me asking her too. I didn’t really think anything of it, and it seemed like a nice bonus. It was not long after this that my cheeks and chin began to erupt in deep and painful pimples. My skin was suddenly really clogged all over, even on my temples and jaw. I had never experienced any breakout or congestion like this before even when I was a teen and my acne was at it’s raging worst. I kept going to see Jane because all the while she seemed to be trying to help me. Fast forward a few agonizing, acne filled months to… My last visit with Jane. Very unpleasant. She got upset because I was using a new face care product that apparently she didn’t approve of. The thing is, I really tried to follow her advice on products but some of it was conflicting. She told me in a very rude and annoyed tone that my face is really oily and really hairy. (Gee thanks so much for pointing that out because I hadn’t noticed after 30 + years of living with it.) Then she said that she sometimes stops seeing clients who don’t follow her advice. And I guess that’s what happened with me because shortly after this awful visit she started ignoring my attempts to make another appointment (honestly in hindsight I could punch myself for even trying to go back there after being treated that way…) But as it turns out, not being ‘allowed’ to go back there was the best thing that could have happened to me. It took about a month but my skin began to clear, and has been back to normal ever since, even though I continue to get threaded at a different salon.

I love Jane. She does amazing job at at a very reasonable price. She is funny and charming and very personable, to boot.
Her studio is hidden away in a little strip mall. Once you are inside, there are super comfy sofas and lots of gossip mags to read while you wait. And once you are in her studio space, there is this table/​cloud from heaven that is so comfortable you can almost forget Jane is yanking the hair from your face.

Jane is amazing! She knows her sh! t. I barely go there anymore but when I need my eyebrows done or anything, I will always go to her! She’s very friendly, and her office is really cute and chic. She doesn’t promote a lot only because it’s word of mouth, but it’s honestly my favorite place to go to when I need something done.
When i went it, I would go there to get my eyebrows threaded. My first time wasn’t the most comfortable, but the end results are worth it.
She also has website, and I don’t quite remember it, but has all the offers she does! She is awesome! Go go go.

I been going to Jane regularly for about a year now. She is absolutely amazing. She’s very thorough and swift, and books appointments via text message.
She got me sprung on threading, and being that I’m obsessed with hair removal, I’m hooked for life. My brows have never looked better!

I found out my friend goes here and she told me Jane does referrals only so if you are reading these reviews thinking «wow I have to get an appt,» unless you know someone here, forget it. My friend asked me if I said I knew her and I said no because I didn’t even know she went to Jane! She said Jane was standoffish until she heard someone referred her as well.
If she had just responded to my email saying «Sorry I’m so full. I only take referrals,» I might have been less pissed. That’s what Dot used to do at Ten Pachi. Instead, she thinks she can just ignore her answering machine and inbox.
Apparently I have an «in» now but I’m not even interested anymore. I’m writing this review for everyone else. Not her. If you don’t know someone who knows her, she doesn’t care about your business, what you think or even to respond to your messages. Don’t sit around with bad brows waiting. Go find someone else.

I won’t let anyone else touch my eyebrows. Seriously.
Jane is witty, engaging, straight up, and caring. She will not let you leave her studio until you’re fixed up and have been educated on what needs to be improved. She’s my forever go-​to person and makes me feel like a million dollars (and more!). I would recommend her to any good friend of mine. You seriously can’t go wrong with her.

Roll it back 6 months… I’m having my eyebrows threaded and I realize, the last few times, my eyebrows have been jacked up. Basically, the shape of my brows have been altered and I no longer find joy in having someone much too close to my face, holding thread in her mouth, smelling the nauseating scent of coffee. I decided it was time for a change.
For the months ahead, I grew my brows out, randomly plucking particularly disturbing ones here and there and feeling… well, shaggy. I began the search for a new threader. Everyone I asked had recommendations in the south end and let’s be honest — for me, living on the north end, that may as well be on the other side of the moon.
I began checking it out on Unilocal and I found Jane. As the time drew nearer, and my brows grew bushier, I became anxious.
Finally, it was time. I sent Jane an email and had some correspondence with her. I told her my sad story of misshapen brows and she had mercy on me. Jane saw me within a day of me contacting her. I was grateful.
I knew that Jane’s spot was a little on the down low. Still, I paused outside her door and looked at my phone. Was this the right spot? Yep. When I went in, I was struck by the colors and design of the room. It was beautiful and has all the little touches that make you feel special. I nervously sat on the couch, waiting.
Jane came to get me and she was warm, friendly, and quite frankly, gorgeous! She looked like she stepped out of the pages of a magazine and I found myself hoping, oooooh, will I get to look like her?
Jane walked me through the process, letting me hold a mirror so I could see what she was pointing out. She came up with a plan to get my brows back in shape. We talked about threading and my previous experiences and she went to work. She was amazing, both in quality of work and her demeanor. I so much appreciated conversation with her — it was both liberating and humbling at the same time. Did I mention price? I felt like I could have paid her much, much more for her work and was extremely grateful for not having to pay the prices of a big name salon for an inferior service. Honestly, Jane could charge whatever she wanted and I would likely pay it. She’s just that good.
Jane is the best! I don’t think I can say more than that. I feel lucky to have found her and look forward to seeing her more in the future for all my hair removal needs.

Jane is a brow threading goddess, she should seriously be inducted into some sort of aesthetician hall of fame. With a tough but engaging persona, she KNOWS what she’s talking about. It doesn’t hurt that she used to be a research scientist for a decade before she ventured into the world of beauty.
For $ 15, I got a completely thorough consultation as she explained how my natural brow shape could be maintained with a few simple tips. Within minutes, they were threaded and looking better than they ever had before. As a bonus, she also recommended some skin cleansing rituals and advised against getting a facial at my age.
Other salon owners would have tried to sell you in on unnecessary services but Jane prefers to thoughtfully educate her patrons and if they don’t visit with skin problems in the future, she considers it a smashing success. She’s honest and candid without crossing the line of hurting your feelings, a difficult line for most!
Overall, I would recommend her to just about anybody. She’s more responsive to texts for appointments and is a one-​woman show but if you’re willing to traipse to Shoreline, she’s 200% worth it.
