Buzz Burgett has been an entrepreneur and business owner for the last 35 years. From the early days of Solar in the 80’s with EPS (Energy Production Systems) with his brother Jon, to starting a wholesale business with Thermal Products owner, Jay Zager, Buzz has consistently found and created value with the people around him. Since 1991, under his direction NW Mechanical has flourished and become the «Radiant King» in his chosen industry. Mechanical contracting has given him the chance to show his values and help people to experience a level of comfort that he feels everyone should achieve. With the tagline, «Your comfort is our Concern» Buzz continues to create value for his customer and his company.

What a relief to find someone so competent to fix our old oil boiler radiant heating system! Aaron spent four hours with us going over everything: plumbing (added an new shut off valve), electrical (figured out our whacky system and showed us how to properly work it), replaced our broken pump (the new one is so quiet we don’t hear it now), and «burped» our radiators. He vacuumed and oiled– it was really over and above. After three years of limping along we have a heating system in our house that really works now! Others have scratched their heads and tried to sell us a new system ($ 20K), and no one had ever come close to figuring out the Tstat. Thanks Aaron! It’s the little things! (like having heat in your house). Also loved talking to Alison on the phone– after calling others and getting phone banks of operators who had no idea what a oil boiler was but told us they could fix it (not– after we finally got to speak with the technicians). We called at least ½ dozen places. I thought the price we were charged– for four hours of excellent service– was very fair.

Relationship with this company started out positive with simple scheduling and questions to review my heating system, fix gas leaks and change the water heater on a home we purchased which has been under renovation for most of this year. However, when we recently learned that the water heater they sold is and installed was not usable given venting issues, they not only refused to help us address the issue, they also refused to take the unused heater back!
Management said that technically they did their part of the work requested and that they are not responsible for preexisting conditions on the home (which their team did not look into even if they were hired to do so). Also, even if the $ 2k water heater is not used, they cannot take it back because it may be damaged — strange as none of this was transparent when I purchased the unit or their services (nothing in writing on terms, beware!). Now I need to buy a new water heater and plumbing service!

Very professional.
They mostly specialize in mechanical aspects of residential and commercial and might handle your plumbing needs if you are already an established client or they happen to be working on your property for another issue.
They are swamped with clients because they are dependable for the job to be done correctly. So be patient and anticipate a 1 – 2 week wait for your appointment.
Pricing is moderate. I have a boiler system and full house radiant heated floors so i have to be extra careful who can work on my property. If the boiler water is cross contaminated with the drinking water it can be lethal so this is an area I don’t try to skimp on pricing and go for quality of work and a company I can trust.
They came out three times for one issue to make sure our home was back up and running.

The only company that didn’t run away from my Solar/​Boiler heating system issues. I swear my heating system is the most complicated system in the world, but NW Mechanical was up for the challenge. They were exactly on time and stayed as long as it took to complete the job correctly. I attempted to contact a few other highly rated local mechanics on Unilocal,but after i emailed them a picture of my system, all i got back was NUTHIN. Quote was fair, final bill was fair, and i was very pleased with the thorough nature of the tech. I will call NW Mechanical again when the time comes for my yearly boiler service.

Northwest Mechanical really stepped up and did right by me! Mr. Ryan Burgett contacted me to obtain more information about my complaint, after doing some investigation on his own. After I provided more information, he provided me with a refund on the service fee AND put a $ 50 coupon in the system for a discount on future work. Wow! I’m very impressed with how Northwest Mechanical «walks the talk» of striving for 100% customer satisfaction. Now I’ll probably use that coupon with them toward a big, fat ductless AC unit just because they were way cool!

On August 28 – 29, 2014, NW Mechanical installed a Mitsubishi split-​type air conditioner in my home. The installer Brendan did a great job. He was fast, courteous, careful and highly skilled. I am so pleased. The electrician they used –Cascade Electric (Rick St. Vincent) was equally skilled and efficient. We been using NW Mechanical for over 10 years on the heating and mechanical parts of the home. They are terrific.

Northwest Mechanical installed a hydronic heating system for our new 2 story waterfront home about 15 years ago. Our architect recomended them and they appeared to be very professional. After rough-​in was finished and they returned to do the finish work we noticed that the components being installed did not match the contract. They had to run more wire to correct the error but said that there were no problems. Recently we discovered water damage. When we investigated we found that NW Mechanical had simply drilled holes through our roofing and stapled the necessary wire to the exterior of our house to avoid having to open a path through sheet rock to reach our 2nd story attic. Now we have to repair water damage and run new wire for the upper floor controls. Everyone makes mistakes but their failure to step up and correct the problem at the time shows a lack of integrity. I would not use them again.

The technician was right on time and fixed our heating problem quickly and efficiently (we needed a new thermostat for our radiant floor heating system). We received four bids on a boiler replacement for our house in Seattle. We had excellent service from NW Mechanical. The knowledgeable guy who gave the bid also installed the equipment. Everything was done well and passed inspection. On first glance, NW Mechanical was not the lowest, but after comparing rebates, the brands and qualities of equipment and service contracts, etc, it was comparable. We were glad to go with a trusted company, recommended by people we know «in the business.» We recommend them highly.

I can always count on NW Mechanical to do a stellar job. We have a complex system with many layers — some from a previous owner, some from a remodel we completed. I’ve known other technicians who will come in and quickly do the easy fixes. So we accepted we would never have a system that didn’t have a lot of annoying quirks. Abe tasked himself with figuring out our system top to bottom, and beyond my expectations, he figured the whole thing out! An easy-​going professional, it was very comfortable to have him around the house. He was thoughtful about the billing and wrote out incredibly detailed notes about our system. The house is warm, the fans blow 2x a day as programmed, we are happy. When you want it done right, call NW Mechanical.

Our furnace stopped working on Jan 2 (resulting in no heating or hot water), so we called Northwest Mechanical (since we have a service agreement with them)…they sent a heating engineer within an hour or two, who quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem (they had to obtain a hard to come by spare part.) We have used Northwest Mechanical since 2003 and they have consistently provided top-​notch, high quality service.

Technician diagnosed and immediately fixed serious problems.
Now we use them for preventative maintenance which they do very well with very little guidance needed.
Professional, on time, courteous and knowledgeable.

I would not recommend working with this company. They installed a radiant heat system when I built my house 10 years ago. The owner, Buzz, called the day before they were to start installation, and said they under bid and wouldn’t be able to do the project unless they charged more. We had to stay on schedule, so although it was over budget, we agreed to pay more. I have since learned that they did a really poor job on the design and I think we ended up with a very inefficient system even though we paid more. I had a technician come out several months ago to discuss what we could do to improve the system. I paid over $ 175 for him to come out to review the work and make recommendations. I had one follow up question and after 6 phone messages and 1 e-​mail, he has still not gotten back to me. He also promised a bid for an upgrade to a boiler and I have not received that, either. Part of this is that I believe he knows what a lousy job the did originally, and there is really nothing that they can do to fix it. I know they did a good job on an installation for friends of friends, but based on my initial experience, and this more recent one, I would certainly not recommend them. I think that as first time home builders, they really took advantage of us and there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of follow up, more recently.
