I have to say I feel very fortunate this place is right down the street from us because they are an excellent animal facility. We had to take our dog here twice for late night visits and we were very impressed with their knowledge, quick service, compassion and caring. The cost was less than we expected and quite reasonable for emergency services. We unfortunately had to finally say goodbye to our dog after almost 17 years, but the staff was very caring and reassuring and that helped make us feel better. It’s very comforting to know that they are there if we we should need any other services in the future.

We are so thankful to this place! We had just gotten our kittens spayed & neutered yesterday at a different clinic. Our female had one external stitch from the surgery which she took out while we were at work the next day. When we got home we noticed it was missing. The incision site seemed to be doing just fine so we figured she might have internal dissolving stitches that were keeping the wound closed but we didn’t know for sure if it would become infected or if the wound would open. We didn’t see any stitches on the male either and, getting paranoid, decided to bring him to the vet as well.
We called the clinic and were put through to a technician named Danielle who offered to look at the stitches without charging us to help determine if the kittens needed medical care. She took a lot of time to explain what might have happened with the missing stitch and then the fees that would be involved if we did end up needing to resuture them.
When we got there the receptionist was very friendly and connected us with Danielle. She was able to look at our kitties and confirm that everything was just fine. She said the exterior stitch was likely just an extra patch to make sure the internal stitches were secure. She reminded us to use a cone so that the cat wouldn’t cause further harm and told us what to keep an eye out for with signs of infection.
We are very grateful to Animal Medical Center for putting our minds at rest and for having been so transparent over the phone about the fees they would have charged had we needed care. Many other vet clinics seem to leave out details such as exam fees etc. We hope our kitties don’t need medical care again but if they do we will be bringing them here!

By far and away the best emergency and ongoing veterinary care in the Seattle area! From the moment I first arrived with my dog (injured from a dog attack) they were friendly, informative and made me feel at ease. How many front desk agents and vet techs do you know that greet every single panicking pet-​mom with a smile and a kind word? (I’ve been there 10 times or so by now, every time I see the exact same kindness towards anyone that walks in the door.)
I have been visiting AMC Seattle for 3 weeks since; I drive 45 minutes each way because they are the best customer service I have seen at any company, ever. I trust them completely with the care of my dog, which he actually agrees with! My dog arrives and leaves wagging his tail, instead of his standard shaking/​crying vet visit. I’m happy, the dog’s happy (and healing) — what more could you ask for :-)

Monday night I came home and my little orange fur baby was having a hard time breathing. I called up to Access and the lady was so nice and recommended to bring him in and that there was no wait at the time.
We came in around 10 pm and lucky for us we were helped right away. An assistant came out to talk us about Alfie’s issues and when we mentioned that he was having a hard time breathing, he right away took him out of his carrier, checked his breathing and took him back to start him on oxygen. Oxygen for a kitty??? That was my thought too lol
We were walked back into a room and we got to meet with Dr. Turner. He was sooooo nice and informative! He told us that Alfie’s asthma was just acting up (yes, kitties get asthma too lol) and that he was on oxygen and starting to calm down a bit. He made us a recovery plan, explained every step and was very up front with cost.
I really appreciated this! Vets can cost A LOT! He definitely over estimated and said it would most likely be much lower but it’s better to over estimate, than under and I totally agree. There were some steps that we didn’t feel were necessary and he didn’t push to have them done and understood. He was so nice and not pushy at all and definitely seemed genuinely caring for our baby.
They needed to keep him for a few hours to get his breathing down and said they would call us when he was ready to come home. We really emphasized that we would want him to come home that night and hopefully within a few hours and not over night. This is the part that can get shady, how do I know if they’re keeping my cat longer than necessary? They could keep him all night and charge me and how can I argue anything? I can’t Well, it was 12:30 and our eyelids were getting heavy and we received a call saying he was doing better and ready to be picked up. He was literally there by himself for only 2 hours!
I can’t say enough good things about this clinic! They are an emergency ²⁴⁄₇ clinic, friendly and very reasonably priced for an emergency care. The checkup fee is about $ 90 and then they go over any expenses that can happen before they do anything. We ended up paying $ 350, that is with the checkup fee, a few hours of oxygen and a few shots. I think it’s totally reasonable for emergency care late into the night and our baby is doing 1000% better! Thank you Access for being so helpful and open late night!

Excellent facility for emergency animal services and on-​the-​spot diagnostics and treatment, open ²⁴⁄₇. We brought our beloved pet here (in an emergency situation… as if there’s any other kind of an emergency room) and he received excellent care. Owners receive excellent bedside manner paired with thorough descriptions. We found the staff to be extremely quick, polite, and careful (and indeed very caring about the health and well-​being of the animals). As noted by other reviews, the facilities are safe, clean and comfortable… even at 3 AM.
Overall, we were very comforted in our time of need — not just emotionally, but rationally. Of course, all this comes at a price… but this is an emergency clinic, so what are you gona do? For the peace of mind, it’s worth it. Our vet was Dr. Kissinger and she was fantastic at explaining her methods, and, based on findings, what was known, unknown, and recommended. She was logical and calm. Our visit when as well as could be expected, given the rough circumstances of two frantic pet parents and a sad pet.
When you walk in the door, the process goes something like this: Part 1 involves diagnostics, Part 2 involves treatment. After some quick questions, your pet will be taken to the clinic area while you wait in the sitting room (very comfortable with lots of space and sitting options… so you don’t make eye contact with the other sad pet parents). In a few minutes, the vet will emerge from the back area with a written plan of action and the pricing for diagnosing your pet (Just FYI — A boilerplate examination is 90 dollars. All additional diagnostic work is, well additional. 650 dollars for us included the initial examination, blood work, xrays and sedation — all done on the spot). You must decide and sign the statement of work agreeing to pay the amount specified before the tests are conducted… and then wait for the vet to emerge and tell you about the results of any tests and possible actions.
The treatment portion of the visit consists of delivering the test results on paper and then suggesting treatment (also on paper, with pricing outlined). Once the statement of work is signed, the vet will (depending on the case), return to the back to execute on the plan of action… but will emerge every so often to answer questions, go over next steps, additional options for treatments or additional diagnostics, and pricing plans for alternative courses of action as needed. We ended up turning down a plan which would have cost us 1600 dollars (including the 650 dollar diagnostics and 250 – 300 additional dollars of treatment), but Dr. Kissinger was very understanding and coached us through the alternatives with the caveat that we would need to bring him back to the clinic if his condition worsened while recovering at home.
The unfortunate (but obvious) part of bringing your pet into an emergency room: how many people/​pets are in the facility that night dictates how long you wait. There was only one vet on duty and she tried to be attentive and fair to each client — rotating between the front and the back, the owners and their pets. Dr. Kissinger was great at delivering test results and proposed courses of actions/​alternative courses of actions and also knew when to leave so that we could make important decisions about our pet’s future. Unfortunately, our overall visit was incredibly long, due to one high maintenance client. Sometimes that can’t be helped. Dr. Kissinger apologized profusely, but it was a little rough considering we were there until approximately 4 AM. Honestly, I don’t care… I just wanted my pet to be alright.
Also, be prepared to have your consultations held in public where everyone can hear your pet’s diagnosis, your reaction and also any personal or sensitive discussions about your financial status and uncertainty about payments, should your initial reaction not be an immediate and enthusiastic «YES!» It’s an emergency room so the emphasis is on acting quickly, so I can completely understand deprioritizing propriety… but just be prepared for it, because it can be jarring at first. My advice: If this sounds like a problem for you, sit far away from everyone else lol
All in all, though, we were relieved we came here and would definitely come here again. The staff was simply wonderful and it’s great to know that if you’re able to sacrifice time and money, you can essentially walk in and leave with a full blown diagnosis and courses of action. Thank you, Animal Medical Center! We are forever in your debt.

I had a very unpleasant experience here. The place gets two stars because the person that checked us in and the vet tech who took my dog back were very kind.
My dog got in a little scuffle on Saturday, got a laceration on his leg and since had been lethargic, not eating, diarrhea, hiding, and more.
They met us right away, asked what happened, and took him back within 15 minutes. I became skeptical that they didn’t have me go back with him.
Vet tech comes back with him not long after and I’m told the vet did a quick exam and will be out soon. I can smell rubbing alcohol on my dog and no where near the wound???
Veterinarian comes out about 20 minutes later. Tells me his vitals were normal (however the vet we were just at half an hour before said different), says his wound might be infected, and the next thing out of her mouth was, for $ 200 we can do a blood test and for another $ 250 an X-​ray to see why he has some diarrhea. Absolutely no comment about the injury, his behavior, the rubbing alcohol, no ideas or suggestions without me spending $ 450.
I had to ask if they would at least clean the wound and if they provided cones. I felt like I was pulling teeth to get her to talk. It was $ 45 to clean the wound. Really? While you were looking at him you couldn’t have put a little saline on it?
Needless to say, for $ 90, I brought home my still sick, no diagnosis, still infected wound, not happy dog.
Maybe it’s because this is an emergency clinic, but I will never go here again.

Everyone at Animal Medic Clinic was incredibly friendly, professional, speedy quick, and kept me well informed of my kitty’s prognosis. As soon as I walked in the door, a nurse met with me for a few minutes to understand the situation and swept my kitty back to see a doctor immediately. The doctor came out multiple times during my very scary 2 hour visit. She kept me informed of his condition, the steps they were going to do next, and updated on how much my bill would be so I wouldn’t be surprised. I was very impressed with this clinic and will definitely come back — just hopefully not anytime soon!

Animal Medical Center of Seattle, thank you. Honestly, I have no words to express how thankful I am that you helped my fur baby. It makes me emotional just to think about it.
Unfortunately, I had to visit with my black cat, Oscar, late one night for emergency services. He had been hiding for two days and was acting terrified of me when he would emerge. This was not the vocal, happy, and super affectionate boy that has blessed my life for 9 years. I knew something was wrong. I managed to corner him in my bedroom, and when I grabbed him, an abscess ruptured and sprayed all over me (I didn’t know this was an abscess at the time; I thought it was diarrhea). Panicked, I looked up where to go, and after reading several 5-​star reviews of AMC, I headed there.
(Of course, I am sparing you the details of how it took me a full 20 minutes of playing kitty capture, which involved moving several pieces of furniture to finally grab him.)
I called ahead to let AMC know I was on my way, and when I arrived, I rang a doorbell to be let inside (since it was 1:30 am). I was greeted by the most compassionate staff, and they took Oscar back immediately. Shortly after, the vet came out to status me (explaining about the ruptured abscess of his anal gland) and walked through the treatment and cost with me. The vet was more than happy to answer all of my questions and reassured me that I wasn’t a horrible pet owner (because, let’s face it, I felt like this was my fault somehow).
What was supposed to be a 45-​minute procedure took almost 2 hours because my fat boy resisted the sedation (necessary to clean out his wound and receive hydrotherapy for dehydration), but everything went super smoothly, and we were sent home with painkillers and antibiotics. Less than 24 hours later, I had my sweet, vocal, and lovey boy back snuggling with me.
I was really surprised that I didn’t leave with a $ 1k bill (it was half that). I’m used to vets raping you financially, so it was really great that the bill wasn’t that astronomical, especially for emergency services. What’s even better? I paid with CareCredit, which I had opened years ago for dental work, and luckily I had gotten pet insurance just a few months ago, so most of it will be reimbursed. (Go get you some pet insurance, folks!)
Having had one emergency procedure years before (an obstructed bladder) that nearly took Oscar’s life, I can’t tell you how grateful I am to the compassion and professionalism that AMC showed to Oscar and me throughout this very stressful ordeal. And although it’s probably overkill, I am very happy that they took such great care of him and that he’s here with me.
If you suspect an emergency, even if you think you’re overreacting, please don’t hesitate and go to AMC. The sooner you go, the less expensive the cost, the less pain your pet is in, and the higher likelihood that they will survive.
I would (and will) recommend all of my pet-​owning friends to AMC. I am so happy to have my happy boy back!

When our pug broke his nail extremely close to his paw we were not sure what to do. Luckily we live very close to the animal medical center of seattle and took him right in. They saw us right away and were so kind and helpful. They looked at his nail and advised us to leave it alone and keep an eye on it. Many other vets may have tried to sell us all sorts of treatments and we would have done whatever it took to help the little guy out. It was very refreshing to have an honest assessment of the situation without fear of being taken advantage of. I would recommend them any time anyone has an emergency with their pet.

They were incredible. Two of my cats developed sudden, terminal health problems and had to both be put to sleep within weeks of each other. It was one of the worst things I’ve gone through as a lifelong cat lover and they took care of me. I can’t recommend them nearly enough.

Absolutely amazing place! Friendly, clean, professional, and they really know their business! I won’t go into the details of how they helped our cat in distress (in the evening, so it was an emergency visit), but just want to say that Dr. Kaiser was fabulous. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Who writes a 5 star review when their cat dies? Well me, I guess.
It’s taken a month but the most amazing pet to ever come into my life was treated here at this hospital recently. And while we lost him, I’m certain that Animal Medical Center of Seattle did everything they possibly could for him. In fact, I’m sure they did because I have the massive, MASSIVE bills to prove it.
My boyfriend and I took our kitten to our regular vet immediately upon noticing he was acting strange. At 5 months old he was normally terrorizing our home and our other cat ²⁴⁄₇. One morning he was lethargic and out of nowhere just seemed instantly ill. This was three days after he had been neutered at another veterinary clinic. That same vet gave us an emergency appointment and later sent us home telling us that our cat was «ok» and just to monitor him for a few days. I recall begging them to reconsider and asked, «Are you sure? This seems more serious to me.» So a few hours later (after business hours of our regular vet) we’re rushing to Shoreline to take Peaty to this 24 hour animal hospital.
With huge, understanding eyes and calm voices, they rushed him in his carrier to their ER and asked us to hang tight. Minutes later they came out to let us know that he had bacterial and viral pneumonia and that his condition wasn’t good. In fact it was serious and critical.
The news was a massive blow to us because hours earlier we had literally been told that he was ok by another facility. And of course I have to understand that pets can’t talk and that at the time he may not have been as sick as he had eventually become later that same evening. But from the minute Peaty was in the hands of the staff here, I knew that if anyone could save his life, these people could.
Ultimately the end is quite tragic. After days of treatment, living in an oxygen chamber, and being alone and afraid, Peaty suffered from cardiac arrest on a final, hopefully lifesaving procedure. Our young cat had been put through the ringer and was ultimately not strong enough to survive the procedure. We sobbed, we freaked out (because you still have to pay a bill for your dead cat, of course) and we thanked the staff. We weren’t able to go back and retrieve his collar or his toys we’d left with him. It was just too painful. But they did literally everything they could. They were extremely communicative at all hours of the day, and they even allowed us to visit our cat daily (sometimes twice daily) so we could see him. They truly understood our pain and they allowed us every access to see him, pet him, and be with him.
The last time I saw him I really hadn’t considered it might be a ‘goodbye’ instead of a ‘see you later’, but I’m so grateful to the staff here for providing my cat with the care he needed.
We’re in the process of adopting another kitten and hoping that Peaty would be happy that his toys and his uneaten cans of food will now belong to another happy pet. He cannot be replaced but I know that in the short time he was in the care of the people at this facility, they loved him almost as much as I did.
Though I hope never to ever have to come back here again, I will if I need to. I’m not sure I could trust another vet after our previous experience and so please, if there’s an emergency — trust these people and hug your pets before you hand them over. It’s tough to lose a family member.

We loved this place! When my little yorkie, Belle, got really sick, my normal vet was closed and I panicked. Thank god I found them! The staff was very friendly and calm. They seemed to really care about the health of Belle. They called me with updates and they were always available for me when I called with questions.
The office was great too. It felt like a human’s doctors office.
The price was expensive but that was too be expected especially with emergency ²⁴⁄₇ care.

My dog and I love this place!!! Dr Chelsea Tripp is a great oncologist and correctly diagnosed our dog — they did a fantastic job!!!

We’ve only visited once, and not for a routine visit. Rather, our 13-​year-​old dog, with cancer fell quite ill. Long story short, our beloved dog passed away at that visit. I just wanted to say that I greatly appreciated the compassion and calm presence of the vet during such a hard time. The passing of my dog was incredibly peaceful and I’m so very appreciative of the vet who helped him pass to his next great journey. We knew his time with us was coming to an end and I’m thankful it was a peaceful passing.

When our pom had excessive diarrhea and continuous bloody vomiting at 10 PM we knew we couldn’t wait until the morning to take her to our vet. We called the emergency vet our vet recommends however they told us they were closed for an emergency surgery and referred us here. We called while we were on the way and when we arrived a triage nurse met with our dog within a few minutes.
The place is VERY clean, even more updated and nice than some human doctor’s offices! Prices were actually more similar to our regular vet than we had originally thought — people who complain about prices need to understand that this is emergency care much like a human hospital. Of course you’re going to pay a little more for immediate assistance during non-​standard business hours!
We were only there for 2 hours probably because some doggies in worse condition showed up while we were there. As a side note — no one pushed any procedures on us. The vet explained what she thought might have happened and told us both ends of the spectrum — treat symptoms and see our regular vet if it doesn’t get better or they could take xrays now, and she told us the price comparisons of each.
The only negative — when the vet finally came out with the medicines and treatment plan and began to explain everything, the receptionist decided it was the best time to vacuum the front area. The vet eventually had to flag her down and ask her to turn it off so she could finish explaining everything to us but other than that our experience was great.

Our dog, Titus, was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma at ACCES in 2011. Devastated, we opted to try chemotherapy after his spleen removal to buy him, and us, a few extra quality months. We hoped he would make it seven months. To our absolute excitement, he made the seven months, and kept going. We stopped going to ACCES about a year into Titus’ treatment when his oncologist passed away. Our veterinarian recommended we try Animal Medical Center (AMC), and we are so glad they did.
Fast forward another year and a half. Titus sailed through his appointments, providing blood tests that were mostly «unremarkable» (good news to us non-​medical folk), clear x-​rays and ultrasounds. Front desk staff, vet technicians, and oncologists were always professional to us and very kind to Titus. His primary oncologist, Dr. Tripp, was ready to take him off his metronomoc chemotherapy drugs within a couple months, provided he could pull another clean set of images. Unfortunately, a couple weeks later, on November 18, 2013, Titus collapsed at home. We took him in to AMC that day, and he took his last breaths the following morning. Still too raw of an experience to detail, I can at least say we were and are completely satisfied with the care Titus received here. A few days after Titus’ passing, we received a sympathy card signed by many of the AMC personnel. I still can’t read it, but I’ll never forget the gesture.

Yesterday was 29^th of September 2013, the day of unbelievable comebacks. Seahawks stole an amazing victory out of nowhere, and our Stumpy boy pulled off a dramatic comeback of his own.
10 days ago, Stumpy (13) had a severe pancreatitis attack. After 3 days of intensive care in ACCES emergency services, and 3 nights of homecare with daily visits to his regular vet for under skin fluid, pain and med injections, our Stumpy was not getting any better. In fact, the inflamed pancreas has started affecting the nearby organs (liver, small intestines) and he was deteriorating even further in health. We felt we needed specialists, and thanks to our regular vet we found this amazing place called Seattle Animal Medical Center.
Many times, I thought our Stumpy might not make it through the night. But, after only 2 days at AMC, thanks to Dr. Reiss and his team, our lethargic dying dog made a 180 degree! What a comeback! The sad, depressed, immobile Stumpy came out walking, eating, drinking, sniffing and licking my face. I don’t know what magic Dr. Reiss did, but he ran some diagnostic screening, found the root cause of all the issues, and started the TREATMENT right away. Again T-​R-​E-​A-​T-​M-​E-​N-​T, and not just controlling the pain, vomit and other symptoms. I haven’t been to many animal emergency hospitals, but I believe this must be the BEST out there.
If you think your dog’s illness is serious, do not hesitate to bring your dog here. I still can’t believe that Stumpy is going to pull through this. I still can’t believe that this place exists in Seattle, and found it when we did.
Thank you Dr. Adam J Reiss and everyone who took care of Stumpy. We don’t know how long Stumpy will get to live after this terrible disease and all the ongoing issues like jaundice, but each new day is a bonus.
Yesterday during a visit, I had a chance to witness Stumpy poop, the first time in 10 days. That poop was the best thing I have seen in the last crazy depressing 2 weeks.

I saw Animal Medical Center’s Oncology professional after my 7 year old dog was found to have a malignant mass on his leg. I had it removed with a TPLO surgery at the surgical center (on the other side of the building) before this appointment. As soon as she walked in she began with my options for treatment and recommended they be done the next day as I had already waited too long as it was. There was no availability when I called to make the appointment 7 weeks prior!
I had done some research before speaking with the Oncologist but wanted to hear her take on this particular malignancy without hearing of my research. Although her lecture was MOSTLY consistent with my research she neglected to mention that there was a chance that the malignancy had been completely removed during surgery and that this treatment ($ 1500+) could be all for something that was never destined to come back in the first place.
I mentioned another small skin mass near to the site of the recently removed mass and she told me it was a scrape. Additionally, I decided to go ahead with a test she recommended ($ 55) to make sure the cancer had not moved to my dog’s lymph node. She told me there were some ‘unusual cells’ and that she would have to send the sample to a pathologist for further testing ($ 200). The pathologist determined that the lymph node was reacting to the recent surgery and there were no unusual cells.
I no longer felt confident in this oncology professional so I decided to obtain a second opinion. She made sure to call the next day to see if I could bring in my dog for treatment of course. After seeing another oncologist I found that the second mass I mentioned to her was of the same type as the one that was removed and that my dog would need another surgery to remove this mass during which time the surgeon could also remove (if needed) what was left of the other mass.
I am impressed with the oncologists salesmanship but not by her knowledge base on this particular subject. I would implore all those interested in these services to first gain some of you own knowledge before seeing this ‘professional’.

I had a really great experience here today; well, as good as an experience you could have while bringing your animal to a hospital. My roommate noticed my cat limping a little last night, but this morning it turned into him not bearing any weight on it (he barely would even let his tippy toe touch the ground.) Many people wouldn’t think of this as an emergency and I agree, it’s not. BUT it’s Sunday today and very few vets are open… aaaannndd I’m a panicky mother.
Anywho, I started out by going to the VCA in Lynnwood despite being recommended this place because it was closer. I know this is an emergency facility and my cat wasn’t bleeding, wasn’t having any trouble breathing or any other thing suggesting the need for urgent care but giving me any sort of time estimate would be nice. After waiting over an hour with no updates I decided to try another place, the Animal Medical Center.
I find the place, walk in, and am instantly more at peace with my surroundings than at the previous facility. The waiting room is lovely and put together really well (check out the pictures, they speak for themselves). They even have a Keurig coffee maker! I waited for about an hour there as well, but they communicated with me remarkably while waiting. They would apologize for the wait, let me know if an urgent animal was coming, and make sure my cat was still doing well. The vet, her assistant, and the receptionist were amazing women. When we finally went into the exam room the doctor explained to me my cat may need to be sedated to run tests, told me how much it was and asked if that was alright. When it came down to him needing an x-​ray, she did the same thing. Keeping me updated on costs and asking my opinion on affordability was really appreciated.
In the end it was discovered that my cat had a metacarpal fracture. He was splinted, I was given pain meds for him and had a nice explanation of aftercare, as well as a printout of what I was told. Done and out the door in ~2 hours. Don’t forget the x-​ray, sedation, and the fee for the visit in the first place, all of this for under $ 500. They also included a note in the aftercare instructions about how handsome my cat is. I feel we were both flattered.
