Specialties

I specialize in tutoring for high school students. This includes subjects of geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. Each student gets individual attention to their needs and I make sure that each one understands their task at hand before I leave. I use a combination of school homework, going over previous tests, doing specific practice problems, and assigning my own homework for the student to complete to make sure they are keeping up with their practicing and retaining more of what is taught.

History

Established in 2011.

I started tutoring in my second year of college. It was a part time job to pay for my extra expenses while attending. At a point in my 2^nd year of tutoring, I amassed a 13 student work load and to date have tutored over 30 students. Since then, tutoring has evolved into a passion that I want to carry on as a career. To make this happen I spend a lot of time reading through material relevant to teaching and tutoring all math subjects. I also spend lots of time practicing problems myself especially those geared towards the new common core curriculums.

I’m a William Floyd High school graduate, class of 2010, and a college student at Stony Brook University with a major in mathematics. I have spent the last 4 years tutoring for math at all different levels in Suffolk County. I have always dreamed of being an engineering or architect, but after coming to Stony Brook I discovered math and have been studying it every day ever since. Tutoring was only a part time job for me when I first started. Only in my 4^th year as a tutor did I realize that I wanted to do this more often and so I now dedicate my full attention to making tutoring my career.
