The beds are old and I had a spring sticking in my back all night. The twin bed in room one squeaks every time you move. The sheets smells dirty. The floor has not been vacuumed and I had dirt all over my feet when walking around. The water is soapy and I couldn’t get clean. The room was hot despite the fact that the lady argued with me that it was 65 degrees. It feels better outside and it 70. I could hear every noise coming from the room next to me. The space between the two beds is so small that only one person could walk around at a time. When I went to express my concerns to the lady in charge she refused to give me my money back for the next two nights despite the fact that the policy only states that the deposit would not be refunded if not canceled within seven days. The lady was very rude and raised her voice at me when I expressed my concerns about the heat. The Amish lady was even very rude to me. We are moving across the street to the Super 8 and are considering it an upgrade from this awful establishment. STAYAWAY!!!

I stayed at the Old Carriage Inn so that I had a head start on the Shipshwana Antique Market. We stayed in the Teddy Bear room which was clean, comfy, and most importantly relaxing. However, if you decided to stay in the barn I suggest you stay in one of the rooms on the second floor. When our neighbors walked or talked we could hear them clearly. No big deal if you are stuffed with the best chicken dinner form Essenhaus. Bridgette the owner of the Inn was helpful in answering our question about the town and suggesting attractions. We woke up and had a wonderful breakfast of toast, cereal, fresh fruit, and homemade muffins. Shipshewana is an amazing town full of friendly people, wonderful food, and Amish atmosphere.
