History

Established in 2002.

My Grandfather, Wayne Carr founded Carr Fence Company in the 1970’s in which I would ride along at times and sparked my interest in being an entreprenuer. After I graduated high school in Bells, Texas I joined the US Army and served in the ³⁄₇₅^th Ranger Regiment learning core qualities in leadership, honor, integrity and a hard work ethic.

After leaving the military, I began earning a Business degree from Texas A&M-Commerce and building fences in Sherman, Tx and saw the need for an ethical and quality fence company, however I accepted an offer in public accounting as an auditor and later an accounting position with the world’s largest healthcare company. I realized my calling is not in the office but serving the citizens of Sherman, Denison, Gainesville, Bonham, Mckinney and surrounding towns. I founded Mike Downs Fencing in 2002 and enjoy providing a professional, reliable trusted service!
