What Works FItness uses a hybrid of the best ancient and most state-of-the-art exercise modalities to get you in the best shape of your life, increase longevity, get out of pain and feel sublime in your own skin. Elissa Kerhulas, Owner of What Works Fitness is a certified yoga, Pilates, TRX, Power Plate, fitness trainer that carefully designs a program to specifically address your needs– body, mind and spirit. She is certified in three yoga modalities: kundalini yoga, Naam Yoga and Shakti Naam yoga, the Yoga of Immortality. She also incorporates Yin and Yang yoga, breathwork, mudras, meditation and mantra to enhance wellbeing, confidence, stress relief and more. She also practices healing modalities: Harmonyum, a powerful system of bringing in light to self-heal and Randrop Technique, a wonderful method of massage using essential oils.
History
Established in 2002.
I began teaching yoga part-time in the evenings. I so loved it that I then became a fitness trainer and Pilates trainer. Pilates and yoga helped me heal my own pain from multiple car accidents. I am now pain-free and feel like I’m 25. Six years ago, I went full-time to train others, starting at Total Woman Gym in Glendale. Now on my own, I teach various classes in public and private studios and clubs and private sessions in homes and in my Canyon Drive studio. Business has never been better. I get so many referrals from clients who have rehabilitated injuries, reduced or eliminated pain, enjoyed weight loss and reconnected with their dreams.

Elissa Kerhulas of Hollywood has practiced yoga and Pilates for over 35 years and is a certified Pilates instructor through Pilates Sports Center, a PMA-recognized school, a certified Yoga teacher through KYI and Naam Yoga, both Yoga Alliance courses, a certified a personal fitness trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a certified TRX and Power Plate trainer. She specializes in creating private programs and classes that draw from a hybrid of the best exercises from Pilates, yoga, yoga therapy, Power Plate, fitness training, Foundation Work, Bar Method, TRX, and Yamuna Body Rolling to strengthen, tone, increase flexibility, improve posture, expand lung capacity, rehabilitate injury, energize metabolism, de-stress and develop mind/body awareness. She also helps her clients lose unwanted weight through nutritional guidance based on their body type and emotional needs, and offers psychological tools that enable clients to overcome their self-sabotage.
