History

Established in 1945.

Valley Beverage Company was the Valleys first bottle shop. While stores at the time were usually small holes in the wall, Valley Beverage Company took up a whole street corner and was filled with just about everything a drinker could ever want.

Nowadays, large corporate wine liquor and beer stores are just about everywhere. We have seen them all come and go for a few reasons like high overhead adding to the cost of merchandise, and an impersonal feeling for customers. We pride ourselves on our friendly and knowledgeable staff, our huge selection, and our outstanding customer service. We currently have thousands upon thousands of different wines, spirits, and beers– everything from the inexpensive to the finest and rarest wines, spirits, and beers– All at the lowest prices in the city.

One of the most impressive inventories of craft beer I have ever seen and one of the employees really knows beer. They are so dedicated that they drive to get beers not delivered in the Valley. Massive quantities of special releases, Belgiums and nationwide offerings. Best place I have been in LA thus far.

Worst service I have ever received. I love trying new beer and chatting with those who do as well and thought I could get a recommendation of something new to try. I was so wrong. The man behind the counter was disrespectful and belittling and had zero interest in helping me with anything. The selection here is great, but I would rather drink flat, warm Bud Lite for the rest of my life then ever give this unfortunate person my business again. Please consider quitting (hopefully you could lead a happier life, you did tell me you didn’t like beer after all) and leave this store to someone who 1.) cares about, has knowledge of and is interested in beer and 2.) knows what mutual respect and kindness is. Maybe if I were a guy I would have received those things in return, after all you did seem annoyed that a woman wanted to talk beer with you instead of wine coolers.

Oh, let me tell you about Valley Beverage… I started getting into craft beer about a year ago and since then have scoured the valley for a good selection of all kinds of beer. I found a few stores but their staff tended to not really know much or just weren’t interested in helping. VBC then fell into my lap by accident (just needed some smokes) and I was on my way down the rabbit hole.
Not only did they have a stellar selection that was constantly changing but the guys that work behind the counter are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they are friendly and very helpful (and have yet to be condescending for my lack of knowledge, which is common among the craft fanatics) I suggest this shop (or any place of Peter’s) to anyone looking to get their hands on some great bottles or to even dive into the craft brew world.
The only bad thing I have to say is that this place will beat up your wallet… Not because they are over priced at all (quite the contrary) but because craft beer is delicious and addicting. Enjoy the rabbit hole!

Great beer selection. I enjoy coming here with friends searching through the selections and discussing craft beer with friends. The owner takes pride in his business. I had an issue with a recent experience, but the owner messaged me right away anf resolved. I can tell he takes great pride in what he does.

This place is awesome! They recognize me when I come in, and one time I had an issue with a 12-​pack of Bell’s Two-​Hearted Ale, where one of the cans was missing. They went out of their way to set aside an extra can from another pack, and gave it to me, nice and cold, the next time I went in. Who else does that?!?

Don’t be fooled when you drive by. This is not just some run-​of-​the-​mill liquor store. The guys here take their stuff seriously.
The wine, beer, and liquor selections is HUGE and, more importantly, the guys behind the counter know their stuff. I’ve never been disappointed in any of their recommendations.

Amazing prices, excellent selection, cool staff! Everyone I’ve dealt with here is very friendly. They always have a really great special deal in the front of the store to draw you in. A twelver of magic hat for 9.99? I’ll take two! Summer clearance 4.99 for a six pack? It’s always summer in So Cal! Then pick up a single beer you’ve never had for three or four bucks and a tall bottle of Cali Creamin’ and you’ll be excited to come back next week and see what the next great deal is!

This is a very awesome store all around. They have beer collection from all over the world I found some hidden gems did I mention I was able to find Russian river beer and found pliney the elder. What really caught my eye was there cider selection as well as there mead. Customer service was amazing and had a good time at the store both sales clerks were able to help me answer my questions. Both the clerks knew there stuff and amazed how well they both knew about beer. I know where I’m coming from now on to shop for my booze fixing keep up the great work valleybev best store in the San Fernando valley period.

This may look like your average corner liquor store, but one step inside and you’ll realize it’s like Disneyland for alcohol, and particularly beer connoisseurs. Forget BevMo, if you’re a beer fan, this is hands down absolutely the best place you can possibly go to find those hard-​to-​find beers.
I both love and hate coming here because of the sheer variety. If you gave me $ 1,000 to go crazy and pick up whatever I wanted, there is a good chance I’d still be leaving without everything. Not only that, but the employees seem to be something of enthusiasts themselves, being both friendly and knowledgable.
It’s strange to call a liquor store a destination, but if you happen to love craft beer, and live within 15 or so miles, I’d make a point of coming in and checking this place out. Yes, it’s that good.

I happened upon this place at random a while ago on my way to a get-​together. I just needed something quick, but since then Valley Beverage Co. has become my liquor store.
The staff is friendly and they know their beers and wines, both in terms of flavor and history. They know the shop and if you have a vague idea of what kind of drink you’re looking for, they’re great with recommendations.
As far as selection goes, they’ve got all your standard liquor store staples as well as an incredible selection of craft brews and other interesting finds (I’ve discovered some of my favorites here).
All in all, this place sets itself apart from the myriad of liquor stores you pass each day. Definitely worth a look. Highly recommended!

In and out faster than Jiffy Lube, except these guys won’t nickel and dime you by offering you an engine flush.
I went here to buy a present for my bff and her husband’s birthday party. It was a wine and cheese type of night, but I didn’t want wine and cheese — I wanted wine and dessert.
This place looks like the neighborhood liquor store on the outside, but inside was a vast array of wines. The guy at the counter quickly greeted me when I walked in the door and I told him, «I need your help. I need a wine that would be good with salted caramel chocolate.» To be honest, I already knew the answer, but I just wanted to check his expertise. He replied, «You need a port»… ding, ding, ding! Right answer, buddy! So he asked for my budget and I told him under $ 50. He recommended this port to me that was under $ 50. It actually came out to a little over $ 50 (damn you LA sales tax!). I was in and out of that place within 5 minutes. It actually took me longer to decide what kind of salted caramel chocolate thing I would bring to pair it with. After much deliberation, I decided to go with (drumroll please…) salted caramel Ghirardeli chocolate brownies. Yeah… it does sound as good as it tastes!
The duo was a success at the party! Thank you dude at Valley Beverage Co for the amazing recommendation.

Hands down the best damn liquor store in the valley. Can’t say anything more. They still got the best selection of beer craft beer in town. Stuff that you cant get at Bevmo… Oh when you check in on Unilocal you will receive a free shot glass.
