BARISCLOSED. I passed by last night to catch a drink and am sad to report the bar has been closed. Signs on door say it has been bought by new management and a new bar called The Sherman will be opening in its place later this year. Sad to see it go it had a really cool ambience inside even if seafood wasn’t my favorite. Hope the next bar is just as cool. FYI Tunnel bar behind it is also closed :(

Took BF on a romantic night out. Ambience: I’m into the rugged décor with a touch of creativity. Low lit lighting which enhances the romantic vibe, in which I’m a sucker for. Our host and server were extremely friendly. Food: Each dish is best shared, finger licking good on all the suggested 6 dishes we tried. Make sure to order the carrot cake to end the night as it’s one of the most decadent I’ve had. Parking: valet is best and located next to the restaurant.

Ambience: Awesome! Look around when you come here, 99% of the restaurant was designed and out together with the owners inspiration and creativity. From the bar, to the lighting, to the cabinets along the back wall. This place is a work of art! Service: *MINDBLOWN* The staff was SUPER attentive and penelope(aka alexis) provided awesome service! The owner was chatting it up with all of his guests and made everyone feel welcomed. I used to do restaurant management so I can definitely appreciate the level of service this place provides. Everyone here also has such personality! Awesome! FOOD: Were pick eaters so we weren’t sure what to expect. But Omg everything was good! Flavorful and not overwhelming. Just right! Mushroom toast: LOTS of mushrooms. CRISPY toast. I can’t remember what sauce the mushrooms were cooked in but I believe it was lightly sweet and slightly rich in texture. Great appetizer, I would definitely suggest/order this again. Brussels sprouts: veggies eh. With bacon! The sauce reminded me of something like Mae ploy(Thai sweet chili sauce). I tried cooking something similar but it didn’t compare! Another recommendation! Raw oysters: FRESHFRESHFRESH! These oysters had almost no sea smell to them(unless that particular type should). The come with three sauces, one kind of vinegar sauce, one sweet and I think the last was horseradish. We actually came here on a Monday and they were pretty poppin, i wish more people with good experiences would review because this place is definitely not 3.5 stars! OH, AND I ALMOSTFORGOT. CARROTCAKE You gotta try theirs! Yes I said carrot cake! It’s amazing! Award winning carrot cake! You won’t be sorry!

Let’s start with Customer Service. 110% attentive at all times. Since it was my first time, our waiter Seth went over the menu and recommended the popular dishes which I thought was awesome. I told him we wanted the oysters, so he broke down the oysters from region to texture. We tried the sampler and it was what I expected. We had their steak with bone marrow, flawless. We also had their Octopus. It was a bit salty but nothing to complain about. Alcoholic beverages: we tried the Mexican Firing Squad which consisted of Tequila, lime, bitters and house made grenadine(spicy). I loved it. Very friendly atmosphere. My favorite was the Oyster Bar. It’s actually at the bar. Next to the liquor. I would come again. They also have a tunnel bar, in case you don’t want to dine, you can enjoy a few cocktails with friends.

Let me start off by saying that Tipple & Brine was a great way to start off a Friday evening. We took advantage of «Social Hour» at Tipple & Brine which occurs from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. I wish their«social hour» was a little bit longer. Some items were discounted such as our Moscow Mule, Shishito Peppers, and Mussels with fries. There were some items listed in their social hour menu that were not available at the time. We saw on their regular menu regarding some oyster shooters. I never had an oyster shooter until last Friday so I was really curious. So they have three kinds: one with vodka and bloody mary mix, one with bourbon, and the other with tequila. Personally, the oyster shooters aren’t really that great but if you had to choose one, go with the vodka and bloody mary mix. I think that the oysters are better alone and the shots by themselves. I loved the ambiance of this place with its dim lighting and darkened wood wall planks. The only really odd thing about this place is the fact that they allowed a family into this place with their child. This place is not appropriate for children.

Dine LA2015 — Tipple & Brine had been on my list for awhile and Dine LA was the perfect opportunity to try them out. To «tipple» is to have an alcoholic drink and brine is a cooking term for a water-salt solution. For our«tipple», we started off with ice cold Moscow Mules in the traditional copper mug. Excellent for a warm summer evening. Next we chose starters from the sea(the brine!): Hamachi crudo with black garlic, grapefruit, hazelnuts and cilantro– light and full of flavor, and the grilled octopus appetizer with heirloom tomato, nectarine, Marcona almonds, frisée and Saba– excellent and tender. For main course, we both ordered the Chicken with Porcini mushrooms, peach, spinach, shallot & Romesco. The chicken(skin on) was nicely juicy but I found the Romesco a bit over-powering. Dessert was a clear winner — Carrot Cake with butterscotch Bourbon sauce and candied pecans– amazing! And we ordered an additional one to go… for a friend… Our waitress, the chic Alyssa O. was patient with us while we caught up over drinks. We don’t like to be rushed! She also made suggestions and we felt taken care of. Nice ambiance. Altogether, a very nice impression… we will be returning soon.

We came here on a Monday for the $ 1 oysters all day Monday’s. Luckily the oysters didn’t disappoint us, but It was the bad service that left a bad taste in my mouth. For us to flag down a waitress everytime we need to order something is a «NO No». FOOD: $ 1 oysters were fresh and delish very mild in taste. Didn’t know what kind they were since our waitress didn’t tell us. Here a note you can’t order more than a dozen per order, but you can order another dozen when the first one arrive. Uni Toast: Very blend in taste. The Uni was good, but to me the avocado took away the taste of the uni. Seared Calamari Salad: Major disappointment. It was a descent size salad with great flavor, but to put two whole tiny seared calamari and a few tentacles for $ 14 totally not worth getting! Brussels Sprout: This was good. The Sweet chili, mint, and the miso aioli just blended well together. Mussel & Fries: The best dish of the night. The flavor were wonderful. The mussels were cook perfectly. Super tender and sweet. Definitely get it. We’ll see if we decided to come back again.
