The Coffee Roaster is the best place for freshly roasted coffee. I have to admit, I’m hooked. It’s the only coffee I brew at home. All natural, the real thing. You’ll forget all others. Going to the Coffee Roaster for more is a planned event, not an afterthought. It’s that good.

Hands down the best coffee in the valley. Bonus: best coffee experience in the valley, from the friendly staff, to the joy of watching beans being roasted as you wait for your coffee (on roasting days). Best local baked goods around. Pre-​packed oatmeal options if you need a healthy start. I love you, Coffee Roaster.

Worst place ever! Went in to grab a iced latte and not only was the coffee terrible, but the service added to it. The owner was so rude. I ended up throwing my drink away is was so bad.

Excellent selection of teas and coffee and they roast their own coffee beans! I say GO!!!

For those of us who are looking for a place to hunker down with our computers, nurse a cup of coffee all day while we pound out a screen play or the great American novel, this fits the bill. There’s batch-​roasted coffee, WIFI, and tables.
As you sit there, it occurs to you that maybe, just maybe, there’s something real, something different about this place. It’s like the original coffee houses of yore, where people congregated over coffee to discuss politics and art.
You noticed something was up as soon as you entered. If you’ve been there before, you are greeted by name. If you’re a first-​timer, you’re still given a warm welcome and a huge hello, your toddler is goo-​goo-​ga-​gaed, your dog’s ears are scratched. (Admittedly, if you’re hung over, it all might be too much to bear.)
So when you look up from Facebook (just taking a break) or email (maybe it’s my agent) or Victoria’s Secret (research), you look around. People are… talking. To one another.
Let me be clear. If you’re looking for adorable and hipster, this is not the place. The style is not rustic industrial; no concrete floors, no hand-​crafted, reclaimed wood tables; no small batch artisan chocolate bars for $ 12 a pop. Neither «coddled eggs» nor «locavore» appear on the menu. No moody barista who really wants to be someplace else, directing.
Just a real, neighborhood, hang out.

I just came in this morning and I was greeted by the most sweetest woman, smiling and acknowledging her regulars by name. It’s a tiny location with a huge passion for coffee and room for a small assortment of pastries.
I ordered the Panama coffee (brew of the day) and the macchiato with double shot and coconut creamer. They were so fresh and hands down worth supporting this small business. I also tried their banana bread and saw they had zucchini bread, so it’s only natural to devour both. So so moist and not too sweet to my surprise. What you can taste is homemade goodies and not like those other stores that can let their pastries sit for days in a refrigerated case.
I will be returning here frequently. I have to try their other goodies and coffee that I didn’t get to try this time.

Every time I come down to this part of town for work, I grab a bag of coffee. The coffee is amazing and always fresh. The staff are very nice and informative, you can tell that they are passionate about what they do. I would highly recommend to anyone that wants a damn good cup of coffee or espresso with some character to it.

Awesome little spot on Ventura Blvd. Quaint feel, great service, outstanding coffee. I’ve had the drip and the cappuccino. Everything tastes superb and I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Got a hot coffee. Truly delicious roast, no burnt flavor. Extremely smooth, and even with a small tip was under $ 3. I’ll be back, no question.

This is one of the freshest, most on point coffee you’ll have. If you’re a coffee fanatic like me, you notice some very rare and interesting qualities in the coffee here. It’s hard to beat freshly roasted/​ground/​and prepared coffee. In my opinion, the more steps you take on your own to prepare a cup, the closer you are to the natural taste of the coffee. This place takes it WAY back and they really know their stuff. Not a place to hang and chill for a few hours, but definitely a great spot if you’re looking to expand your coffee palette or simply make a pit stop on your stroll down Ventura BLVD.

A small coffee shop on Ventura Blvd perfect if you just want to buy your coffee and go. There really is not much space to hang out. There is one good table outside to hang out with your friends, but that’s it.
They roast their own beans here… as evidenced by the large roasted just inside the entrance. It is roped off but not out of reach of the guests.
I VERY much like the fact that the chalk board contains flavor descriptions of different beans, that way, you can make an informed decision. This really helps non-​coffee experts like me.
Their Machiatto is sour and tastes great with the sweet foam.
No sweetener necessary for their Iced Latte. Soooooo good. New fave. Might get it blended next time.
Meter parking is abundant in the area.

Used to work right across the street from this Sherman Oaks gem and I sure do miss it! Went today for coffee and quiche. What a treat! Best coffee around! Also, Steve has finally found the ideal quiche after a long, long search. I had the bacon/​cheddar, my friend had the broccoli. Both were heavenly — perfect ratio of crust to filling. Not too eggy, not too cheesy. Just right and just delicious!

Coffee is just delicious. Local shop that roast their own beans. Small, cute, place in Sherman Oaks with a couple of tables inside and out.
My go-​to order is a small non-​fat cappuccino; their cold brew is also delicious.
Prices are fair and the coffee is soooo much better than the s-​bux down the street.

I got the mocha and it was not overly sweet it had that nice dark 72% percent chocolate taste to it– complimenting the beans used in this coffee. I spoke with the owner and they mix and use different beans in making their drinks. I took a picture of the big older machine that he uses to freshly roast and grind the coffee beans daily from 8−11am. They also sale the coffee beans in here and they have an extensive list of the types of beans they have from all over. He was kind he gave me a discount card so on my next trip out I can buy a bag and get the 2^nd bag half off. This coffee shop is small inside with a cute covered outdoor patio area you can sit and enjoy pastries and your drink. This place has been around for a very long time– it has exchanged ownerships 3 times in the years I overheard his conversation with a customer about it.
The parking is a bit of a pain in this area, you got Ventura Blvd in a busy shopping area but it is a nice area to walk around in.

I love coffee.
I am going to go back and spend more time to get a better review written.
I’m finishing up some medium roast java. Any place that puts this much effort into their coffee is a place you should try out. (if you love coffee)
BTW if you can’t drink coffee without milk and sugar then you don’t –really– love coffee. You gravy drinkers know what I’m talking about.

I was walking around the hood last week and walked past this lil coffee shop. I’d seen it while perusing Unilocal before, but I figured I could use some iced coffee. Quaint as could be, easy going, and quick service.
The cold brew is soooo delicious. Smooth and non-​acidic and just the way I like it. The large is GIANT and $ 3.50. Well worth it. I’m sure I’ll frequent this place more and try other things… but August in the valley = the need for the best cold brew in the valley.

This is a sweet little coffee shop on Ventura. The staff was nice and there’s a few options of baked goods to go along with your coffee. I came here with a friend from out of town and immediately relaxed in the cozy coffee vibes. Any place that attracts a regular crowd is a plus in my book. Not to mention, the drinks were good. I got a chai latte and my friend got some kind of coffee latte. I only get to see him a couple times a year but I believe we’re coming back here next time we reunite!
PS — there’s cool art for sale on the walls. There’s no pressure to buy anything… and it makes for some cool scenery.

Small, cozy, mom-​and-​pop shop that roast its own variety of beans. It opens earlier than most artisanal coffee shop with great quality, and taste, but not with the hipsters. Interestingly, I was referred here by coffee hipsters, LA Coffee Club website, who clearly provides great suggestions.
The Coffee Rosters also serve espresso drinks with milk alternatives. The almond milk latte was delicious and sufficed on reviving my consciousness.

I used to go to Western Bagel to pick up bagels for my company’s Monday morning meetings… and then I discovered this gem. The wild berry pastries, croissants, muffins… everything is so incredibly delicious.
Also, the coffee. They really know how to make coffee. These little coffee shops are hard to find so make sure to visit, buy some stuff, and show your support! You won’t regret it!
