Tammys Place Hair & Nails

Love this place. I got a mani/​pedi yesterday. It is SO HARD to find a great nail place in this darn city. She was recommended to me by a friend, so I decided to try it out. Tammy is SO SWEET AND ADORABLE! The environment is intimate and cozy, and clean!
She accepts credit card and even had the option of putting tip on the card… which is a plus. I will definitely be back here! Thanks Tammy!

Even a power outage doesn’t stop Tammy. She works by the light coming in the front window. She’s thorough, deft and left my poor neglected feet feeling like new feet.

Tammy is a sweetheart!!! She is a pro! Very gentle and the polish stays for a long time. My favorite is the spa chair! Unlike other spa chairs, this one is very very nice, has lots of features (shiatsu, heat, rolling, upper back, lower, full, demo etc). The spa chair is a Bonus!!! It’s like getting a back massage while getting your pedicure :)

I’m the queen bee of mannys and peddys from everyone I know; I get a manny every week and a peddy every two weeks. I like a nice manicured hand, what can I say? However, I’m always getting compliments even the day I’m due for a manny from complete strangers. I was a nail biter as a kid and had the worst brittle nails until Tammy, I don’t use fake or acrylic or gels, I use straight up polish and nailtiques formula 2 plus protein underneath (that stuff will damage your nails). The secret is not a product, the secret is the manicurist. Most of the best manicurist will not be found at a fancy salon — in fact, I had my nails done once by Jessica (the owner of Jessica nail polish) and I was disappointed with her work — Tammy in Sherman Oaks has clients that drive from Long Beach to see her and I drive from West LA to Sherman Oaks (Encino boarder) to get my nails done by her — she is the most detailed manicurist and her reputation exceeds her — she’s always booked and rarely takes a walk in. So the secret is a good manicurist — I’ve heard a lot of these gel type polishes look dull and fake and just because it’s a brand name like OPI doesn’t make it good, it’s actually some of the worst polish in my opinion. I could get away with the same manny for two weeks if I had too, that’s how great Tammy is. That’s my beauty tidbit :) I’ve also been with her for 15 years and I have friends that come to town that want to get a many together but I refuse to get them done by anyone else but Tammy. Also, prior to Tammy I had fungus from a fancy nail shop, since Tammy, I’ve never had anything like that occur, she’s cleans all her stuff after each and every use, downright anal as a good manicurist should be! I’ve also had them done at Burke Williams, while its relaxing, the manicure always leaves me disappointed.
